Chapter 1
{Third Person POV}
The ground was wet and cold. Rain poured heavily onto the earth-nature mourning the loss of one of her precious creatures. A hybrid, half fox and wolf, lay on the ground, still as a rock.
"There...let this serve your sister as a lesson..." a man, dark and mysterious loomed over the girl's body. He touched her cheek in a matter of affection. "I'll be back little Alpha...and complete my mission. Hopefully, by then you'll have developed beautifully, my dear, Isabella."
With that, the man ran off into the woods. The young woman, in her twenties, winced ever so slightly as she felt the life being sucked out of her. She couldn't move her body and she felt her consciousness slip away.
'What is my name?' She thought. Deep within her mind, surrounded my darkness she struggled to remember. "What is my name!"
'Isabella, don't forget it...' behind her was her fox and wolf. Her fox weekly spoke to her but failed. 'You'll won't remember for a long time. We are weak but when the time comes you'll know...you'll know..."
'My name is Isabella. My name is Isabella! Isabella...Isabella. Isabelle? No, oh no what was it. Issa?'
In her mind the fox and wolf faded away and so did she. She screamed relentlessly, knowing no one could hear her but she soon fell limp in her mind and physically.

The machine next to her made her eyelids flutter open. She was in a white gown in a glumly looking room. She panicked and stood up but a searing pain in her thigh stopped her. A group of nurses rushed in.
Her eyes widened as they surrounded her. Her breathing turned heavy but the nurse worked quickly and injected something in her that made her calm down. A tall woman walked in hurriedly. She took a flashlight and shone them in my eyes.
"What is your name, miss?" She asked and put a warm hand against her forehead.
"It's," the girl started but stopped. "I don't know what it is..."
"What do you know?" the doctor asked cautiously a scribbled away at a clipboard.
The girl searched her mind for any type of answer but nothing was found. Just a big empty void. "Nothing, I-I can't seem to recall anything."
The beeping on the monitor quickened as the girl's heart did. The doctor noticed and smiled warmly at her. "It's okay. We'll work on it but we need to call you something."
"Well, I'm not too sure.." the girl whispered.
"How about, Brooke? Brooke Rivers."
The girl smiled. "That's perfect."
"Now, you are 23 years old. Your birthday passed recently passed while you were here so you are 23 and your birthday is October 3."
"Wait, how do you know this?"
"A note was left beside you but let's not worry about that now.." the doctor tried to ease her away from the conversation.
The girl tensed. "Where are we?"
"We are in Canada."
"Canada! But wasn't I from...from..." the girl frowned, the answer seems to be on the tip of her tongue but it wasn't there anymore.
"They found you on a side of a road and you've been out for six months now. In fact, you've done remarkably well. Your hair changed to a raven's feather but I'm sure it will return to normal."
Brooke raised her eyebrows. Is she making the implication that it was dyed?
"By no means was it dyed! But enough, we have to get things settled and more stuff to remember but if nothing can be remembered then we'll have to make a whole new life for you."
"That's the thing, I don't remember anything.." Brooked remarked.
"Strange. We'll have to set the paperwork for your residency here and everything so that you would be able to get out of this hospital but for now, you'll stay here at least for a couple of months.."
"I see, it's okay..." Brooke responded, looking out the window. The snow was falling onto the ground.
Maybe things weren't so bad after all....Maybe, just maybe, she could start all over.

Two years later...
{Brooke}
I hurried out the door as quick as I could. I was way too late for work and it was my first day! After two years of struggling in my life and training to be a pediatrician and I was late!
My jet black hair flew behind me as I climbed into my old car. The best my money could buy. Someone once told something about not having enough money to buy a car...too bad I can't remember who.
I arrived quickly at the huge hospital and parked my car but I accidentally bumped into the window of another car, knocking it off.
"Hey! That was my window!" A large man knocked on my window. I smiled nervously and turned off my car. I climbed out and the man still stood there, arms crossed.
"I'm sorry. I'll pay you back when I have the money," I reasoned.
"Hah! That's what they all say! I'm taking you to security," he grunted and took hold of my arm and began to drag me along.
"Security? Hospital security! But there is no need for that, I said I'll pay it back. Besides I work-"
"Shut your mouth, little b***h, I'm making sure my window is paid for."
"You won't have much luck, I'm broke..." I mumbled.
The man glared at me shoved me onwards, making me drop my coffee on the ground. I tried to pry my arm away but this man was much strong. We approached the building and entered. The securities desk was to the left. I groaned as the security raised his eyebrows at us. A tall slim girl, being dragged by a fat man. I was taller than him but not as strong.
The man held me by the arm and launched me forward that I tumbled on the ground and slid towards the desk, hitting my head. I hissed in pain but cursed to see my papers sprawled on the floor. I felt warm liquid go down the side of my face.
I scrambled to pick up my papers. Blood rushed to my face in embarrassment and anger. But when I stood up, my eyes connected with gray ones. I gasped as I took in this new man. He gave off a scent...wait, a scent? What am I saying! I must've hit my head too hard which totally does good to my amnesia?
The handsome man seemed to glare at me in disbelief. I c****d my head to one side in question. To my surprise, I was hauled up by my hair. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the handsome man make no move. I felt my heart being stomped on for some reason. Why was I so affected by him?
I paid attention to the fat man and finally let loose. "Let go of my hair, moron." I snarled and yanked my hair back, letting it hang loose now. "First of all, I said I would pay you back, therefore, giving you no permission to assault me in such a manor. I work in this hospital starting today but I didn't think I'd run into the ungrateful patients today. Now, you'll have to excuse me because I need to get medical attention."
I spun on my heel and continued forward. I snuck a glance to where the handsome man was but he was no longer there. I felt hurt but I didn't know why. How could I feel hurt by a man I had only seen from a distance?"
