Chapter 10 - Proclamation

*Pryce Winsley's POV* --- After meeting my best friend's family, with which we shed tears, and knowing a few important details about the things that Blair and I have missed about them, here are the two Northern Witches now discussing magical crystals of their race. "You do have your Octavia's Crystal, don't you, Blairie?" Cassie asked the inquisitive hybrid, and Blair took out her necklace to show it and replied, "Yeah." "That one makes you human if you wish to be because of the spell in it. It hides your supernatural auras and form. And it works for witches only, whether Northern or Southern. While this Mirak's Crystal, which I have acquired by the moment I turned twenty-one and was given to me by my mom, lets any witch travel to places by creating a portal if you wish to do so. Same like teleporting." My best friend explained, which made me and my mate make oh faces. It's so damn cool. "Yeah, I do remember! Mom told me about the four crystals. What are the other two again? The names were hard to pronounce. I just know that one is used by the seers to see future events, and the other is for making curses. Fudge! Curses and future spook the heck out of me, and thankfully, there aren't many of them as most were destroyed by the elders." Blair let out as she recalled, and her cousin explained that the Haram's Crystal is for seeing the future, and Verdana's Crystal is the one that makes curses.  Now, I also learned that these crystals originated way back thousands of years ago. The wishing spells on each of those precious things were bestowed by the four Bergamo sisters with their names on each in exchange for their lives. Their blood and magic are in the crystals and are only available for the witches to use. They are passed on generations from their ancestors, and Blair got hers from her Southern Witch foster mother, the late Margarette Kendall. I missed that science teacher. She was one of the best at my academy. And it's so sad to know that she was killed during the war.  As we are now talking about Queen Claudia of the Northern Witches and King Draco of the Vampires and how my mate will surprise her mother, Alison raised a hand to speak. "What is it, Al?" Cassie asked her wife, and we turned all our focus on her as she spoke, "Since we are talking about kings and queens of other supernatural races, it's important for me to let this out..." she paused and looked at me with a smile that sent shivers down my whole being. I have a bad feeling about what she is going to say with the way she looks at me now. Then she continued, "Pryce, now that you are here and alive... I am going to step down from the throne, and you need to take it. It's always been yours, Your Highness." Whoops, there it is. "Woah! Hold... Hold on a second... uh... Well, I... Umm. No, Ali, I'm fine. I'm good. I mean, you are doing great with it. Just continue. I am not--- " I replied, stammering since I am not accepting it, but she cut me off. Like, come on, I am just a girl that knows nothing about being a supernatural entity. The last time I knew I was a human, and the shocking information about me being a werewolf was being added of me being a part vampire now. It's mind-blowing! "It's not a choice that you could accept it or not, Pryce. You are born for it. It should be you. And it was you who lead our race from the beginning. My father, King Alcatraz, was your eighth life, and now, it's you. It's always been your destiny to be born in the same lineage and to rule. And you have no other choice. You are the queen. Don't worry. I will be guiding you about everything that you need to know. Also, when Carson and I go to the domain fifteen minutes from now, I will set a schedule to discuss with the Worldwide Werewolf Council about your return. You need to be there for you to be guided and for them to see that you are--- " She explained seriously, but I cut her off. This is too much for my hungry stomach to take. "Sorry, can... can we slow down a little bit? I mean, I... I need time to think. Besides, I think I am not really qualified for the throne to lead the werewolves. You see, I am a vampire and a human, and I don't know if I can... what do you call it? Transform or shift? You know, into a werewolf. And, I need a break, not just because I am hungry and jetlagged, but I have just woken up from being consciously asleep for thirty damn years. My head is hurting." I let out while feeling so overwhelmed, and my girl looked at me sympathetically and reached for my hand to hold it. Oh, I felt better. "Alright, yes. You can use all the time you need to figure things out firsthand, Pryce. Also, being a tribrid has nothing to do with your role in our race. The soul that you have is the rightful one. Do you know that in your seventh life, in which you were my grand grandfather, you are a half-warlock and half-werewolf? And there are ones that you were part human and part vampire. It just happened that you are the first tribrid, and you are the third female leader, next to me. There is pretty much a lot to learn, and I understand if you need time to think about it. Just tell me whenever you are ready." She asserted, and thankfully, she is giving me time. I'm actually losing some of my brain cells by just thinking about the information that l am hearing right now. "Thank you, Ali. I really need it. And... umm, yeah, I will just tell you when we could have that meeting with the WW council. But umm, before we talk about another heavy thing, can we have breakfast first? Allan was right. We have not eaten anything for many, many years. I am hungry, and I don't know about you, gays." I replied with all that I am feeling, and the queen smiled and nodded her head in response.  "I am with you, Pumpkin. We better head to the palace now. Come on, everyone, except Ali and Carrie. Be careful with your teleportation, girls." Blair agreed with me, and we all stood up from the couches. Then Cassie handed the bracelet to her daughter, and my girl looked at them with her curious tiny gazes. "Carson is a half-witch, Blairie, and she can use the crystal if that is what you are gonna ask." My best friend uttered, which made the hybrid surprised, and replied defensively, "What? Who said that I am gonna ask that? Of course, I knew that. I really do." And I just chuckled silently at her response. Sure, my love, sure. "Alright, since these hybrids can teleport, we will go now. Take care and see you later, my girls." Cassie let out and bid her wife and daughter goodbye and turned to us. "Okay, I will need to teleport two at a time since Pryce hasn't teleported there before. Let's go, little AC and Sander. I will come back for you, babe. Bye, Ali and Carrie!" Blair said and carried Allan in her arms, and Cassie held on to her. Then, they disappeared. I looked at Alison when she cleared her throat, and I think she is trying to get my attention. "Pryce, can I have this moment?" She began, which made me a bit puzzled as she went near where I am, and what she did next surprised me. While putting me in between her arms, she sobbed while hugging me, "I'm so glad that you are back. Sorry if I'm too emotional. I'm just very happy to see you again." "Hey, it's okay, Ali. I'm glad, too, to see you all doing fine." I told her as I hugged her back, and honestly, her touch is so comforting.  We broke off from the gesture, and she let out a soft laugh while wiping her tears away and asked, "Do you know that in this life of yours, you are my niece, right?" "Yeah, I do remember now. I am your father's... daughter of... damn it. Wait, my mother is... your father's... no. Alright, I think I am getting it now. I am the daughter of... my mother. Of course. But she is... Your cousin. And, your father is the half-brother of my grandmother. Did I get it right? Damn, this is so confusing." I uttered as I tried to trace what I remembered what Cassie's mom had told me. I really need to learn a lot about my family—the werewolf side. "Yes. You are on point." She replied, and I snapped my head to look at her when I realized something. "Does it mean... I will call you my aunt?" I asked her in confusion, and she giggled. "No, it's okay if you call me the usual, Pryce. But in this matter, I guess you might like to meet someone that would be glad to see you. She is the head of the council." She answered and told me something that made me curious. Who could it be?
