“I don’t think so.” Mentally Vic poked around inside his brain, not really sure what he was looking for, and not finding anything anyway. He didn’t want to delve too far, in case whatever he hit Matty with earlier resurfaced. He didn’t want to incapacitate his lover, particularly not while driving. He didn’t seem to have any of the usual powers beyond his normal extraordinary abilities, however…
Matt caught the tail end of that thought and pounced on it. “But what?”
“I feel like I have something,” Vic admitted. “It’s nothing I can really put my finger on, and nothing happens when I sort of try…”
He closed his eyes and pushed with his mind, just a little bit. Beside him Matt gasped. Vic gripped his hand tightly and turned towards him, suddenly alert. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
