"Hey Sabina, how's it going?" Ronan asked as he sat next to me. I peeked up from my papers to greet him. "Hey Ro. It's going." I mumbled. "Did you have trouble studying last night?" I asked. "Oh, I wasn't able to. Which means I need to cram tonight." He replied. "Your family thing last longer than you though?" I asked. "Something like that," Ronan muttered. "Was Serena there? She didn't hand out flyers with us like normal," I said. Ronan turned his head to smirk at me. "What?" I asked. "I thought I told you to forget your little crush on Serena," he said. I frowned at him. "I don't have a crush on her. We just sle-" I stopped abruptly. What the hell is wrong with me? I almost spilled the beans. I cleared my throat, and tried again. "We pass out flyers faster when she's there. That's all." I mumbled. "Uh huh. Nice save Sab." Ronan replied. I felt my face heat up. "So, you and Serena really did it, huh?" He asked. I groaned. "Please don't tell anyone. The last thing I need is for Cindy and the other girls to say more about me. Besides, it was just a few times, it's not like we're secretly in love with each other or anything." I said. "Alright, I get it. I won't say anything." Ronan said. "Anyway, she was there, so sorry about the flyers. As for our surfing lesson... Would you hate me if I rescheduled?" He asked. "Of course not. I need to study too. I didn't get much done last night," I replied. Much done? Really? I didn't get anything done. I practically had to shove Alessio out of my apartment after I agreed to go out with him so that I could get some sleep. And my dreams were filled with unique eyes and a bright smile. All night long. I only dreamed of Alessio. At first, it was normal enough. Flirting. Hanging out. Normal things. Then things turned se.xual. Which was also normal. Especially with how much Alessio talked about putting his face between my legs. At least he's good at giving head in my dreams. What was weird, were the dreams after. I dreamed of thick lush woods. Of deep dark waters. There were large wolves in the forest, and long shiny tails in the water. All of it was nothing more than flashes that left me more and more confused. It was strange. The strangest out of all, was the fact that I slept great. Like a damn baby all night. I was toasty warm like I was cuddling with a heater all night. I woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. "Do you want to study together then? I feel like I'll probably learn more with you there." Ronan said, interrupting my thoughts. "Sure, that sounds great," I said. Then I remembered my promise to Alessio. "Is it okay if a friend comes with? I promised that I would study with him tonight after I was done surfing with you…" I said awkwardly. "Sure Nick can come." Ronan said. "Well, actually-" "Hey Ro, what are you doing down here with Sabina?" Cindy asked, interrupting me. Ugh, I forgot she was in this class. Ronan usually sits next to either her or me. She's never walked up and said that though. Maybe she's still upset about Alessio yelling at her yesterday. "Uh, I sit next to her often?" Ronan replied, confused. "Yeah, but why?" Cindy asked. Ronan and I both looked at her confused. "Because she's my friend?" Ronan said. My heart fluttered. It's not like I didn't consider us friends. I just.. Didn't know that Ronan considered us friends too. "Oh, so you are just friends. Cool. That means I can ask if you want to go to the beach party with me this weekend?" Cindy asked with a bright smile. What's happening? "Uhm, well, actually…" Ronan trailed off as he turned his head to me. "I was going to ask you if you wanted to go with me." He said. My eyes widened as my face heated up. "Uhm…" I trailed off. Is he serious? "Sabina has a boyfriend now, so she can't," Cindy said. Ronan looked from Cindy to me. "You got a boyfriend since yesterday?" He asked. "I don't have a boyfriend," I said. "Sure you do. Ya know, he helped us pass out flyers yesterday. Went on and on about how he loves girls like you. You guys went back to your apartment together." Cindy said. "You mean.. the guy that you hit on that told you he wasn't interested?" I replied. Cindy glared at me. Ronan snorted. Sh.it, why did I say that? "Uh, well, if you don't have a boyfriend, do you want to go with me?" Ronan asked awkwardly. I looked from Cindy to him. "Well, I actually said I'd go with someone else.." I replied softly. "I'm sorry Ronan." "Hey it's okay." He replied with a smile. "You should just go with Cindy," I said. "Yeah, you'd have way more fun with me anyway." Cindy added. Ronan rolled his eyes. "Ya know what, Cin? I think I'd have a better time alone. Thanks though." He told her. Cindy scoffed. Ronan ignored her. I watched awkwardly. After a moment, Cindy glared at me. Then she stormed off to her seat. A small smile fell on my lips. So many people have been sticking up for me lately. It feels really good. I should properly thank Alessio later. *************************************** I sat down under the shade of a tree. I knew I should have swung by the cafeteria and gotten a sandwich. It was just so crowded. "Hey, brought ya something." I looked up at the sound of my best friend's voice. Nina waved a chicken salad sandwich in my face. I gladly took it as she sat down next to me. "Okay, I don't have much time before my next class. So spill." She rushed out. "Spill?" I asked with my mouth full. "Yeah, how did it go last night with that hottie Alessio?" She asked, giddy. "Did you sleep with him? Nick said he was putting the moves on you real hard. Tell me that you at least kissed him." I almost choked on my sandwich. "What? No. He was a complete stranger. I can't believe that you let him stay in the apartment alone with me." I grumbled. "Well, I warned Nick after I ran off. Then Avery told me about his new friend. They were looking all over the place for a guy named Alessio. I knew that it would be fine after that. Avery wouldn't let some creep be around you, especially alone," Nina replied. "Speaking of Avery, why don't you just spill? You were with him at his house? After he got into a fight with Brett? And then didn't come home?" I asked. Nina blushed deeply. A smile spread across her face. She bit her lip trying to hide it. "Okay, now you have to spill. What's that face?" I asked. "Okay, so.. When I came rushing back into the school, there was this huge crowd. I pushed through people to see Avery on top of Brett just wailing on him dude. So, I started pulling him off, and screaming like crazy. It was all fruitless, of course. Avery is really strong.." She trailed off. "Focus Nina." I said. "Anyway," She said, waving her hand. "I just held onto him, and begged him to stop. I guess I got through to him because he finally did. He stood up, knocking me to the floor. I chased after him to make sure he was okay. I had to follow him all the way to his house. Where there were a group of people staying I guess. Avery finally calmed down enough to talk to me. I guess that he heard Brett talking some sh,it about me, and said something to him. One thing led to another, and they ended up fighting." She told me. I blinked at her. I bet Brett said something nasty. I knew that Avery liked Nina. I knew it! "Okay, and what about after that? Did you give him some kind of hero complex?" I asked. That sounds like something Nina would do. "Well.. I don't know if I did that. I mean, I'm thankful that he stuck up for me. It definitely made him more attractive in my eyes. Which is saying a lot. He's already pretty se.xy." She said. "Okay and....?" I asked. "And I don't know. He kissed me. It was.. really nice. We made out for a bit. He asked me if I wanted to spend the night, and I said yes. I thought that that meant he wanted to sleep with me. He even let me shower there, and gave me clothes to sleep in. Then nothing happened." She said. "Nothing?" I asked. Nina shrugged. "Nothing. We just cuddled and went to sleep. This morning he woke me up by kissing my face. Then he made me breakfast, and drove me to campus. The last thing he said was, 'I'll see you later, have a good day'. Like how am I supposed to take all of that?" She ranted. "Wow," I said. "So.. What do you want to happen?" Nina shrugged again. "I don't know. I just got out of a long relationship. Brett was a total a.sshole. I wanted to sleep with Avery last night, but.. I don't know what I want now. I've always liked Avery, and I don't want to treat him like a rebound, but.. Am I really ready to jump into something so soon?" She said. I reached out to pat my friend's hand. "Well, no one said you had to do anything right away. I really like Avery for you, but I understand that Brett did a number on you. Just.. take things slow. Avery will understand too." I told her. Nina smiled at me. "This is why we're friends," she said. I smiled back at her. I opened my mouth to say something else, when someone slung their arms around my shoulders. I looked to my right just as Alessio settled in next to me. "Hey cutie, you having lunch? Is it okay if I intrude?" He asked with a bright smile. "It sure is, because I have to get going," Nina announced. "Already?" I whined. "I told you I only had a few minutes." She told me. "I'll see you at home later. Alessio, it was nice seeing you again. Bye guys." "Bye!" Alessio shouted as Nina ran off. I looked up at Alessio as he looked down at me. "So," Alessio said. "Wanna eat together?"
