Jaemin exhaled sharply when the car finally arrived at his house. The needing feeling he felt to get out of the small space while being squashed together with Florence was a suffocating feeling to him. They barely talked on the way home. The worst part was that he heard her cry softly and he didn't say anything to conceal her. He felt already horrible. During the ride back from the after party, he kept on glancing over to her to see if she was okay but once their eyes met, he would quickly look away as if Florence was going to hurt him.
That simplest gesture was already driving him insane. He couldn't even looking at her without feeling awkward or feeling guilty for taking her away from her home. As humble as Jaemin was thinking, a part of Florence was relieved to be away from her father. The only thought that made her upset was that she was terrified of how Yuna would be treated after her absence.
She meant the world to her. She was a mother figure to her and knowing she could be in trouble was something that ate away the happiness inside of Florence.
"We are here..." Jaemin said softly, making Florence jump out of her deep thoughts that she was almost drowning in. She looked at him a bit startled but was quick to send him a sweet smile before nodding her head slightly.
Jaemin got out of the car while he quickly rushed over to the other side so he could open the door for her. When he almost reached, he stumbled and almost tripped over. Florence's eyes widened and she quickly got out of the car by herself to check whether he was alright. "J-Jaemin... are you okay?" She asked with full concern in her voice. He quickly nodded his head. His cheeks flushing red out of the embarrassment he was feeling.
"How more idiotic could I be?" , He tortured his mind. He looked up at the concerned blue eyes of Florence and never in his entire life had he ever sweetly smiled at anyone as much as he did to her at that very moment.
"I am truly okay. It was a stupid accident." He smiled and held her hand that caught her off guard slightly. She had noticed how he frequently would change his behaviour. At one time he would be too scared to even talk to her and other times, this very blunt version of him would come out and take over the person that liked to hide away behind the shield of shyness.
"Are you sure you didn't hurt your feet?" Her sweet voice made his heart flutter and it made him want to just hold her tight, and not leave her. It was insane how he felt this strong connection with her. It was something he couldn't explain and his own mind couldn't comprehend.
At a time, he wanted to push her away but he knew if he were to push her away, he would hurt her feelings and he wouldn't be able to live with that. Especially knowing what kind of a person Florence was. By just spending this little amount of time with her, he could already see how caring and selfless she was and that's all he aspired in a woman.
He was happy with this.
He wouldn't admit it but he was truly happy to be wedded to someone as Florence King.
"You guys just got married and you can't take off your eyes of your wife. Give that poor girl a break." Jaemin's mother scolded her son. Florence's cheeks were bright red. The tip of her nose scrunched up slightly out of the shock she was hit with by the comment her mother in law made.
Jaemin's eyes travelled beside Florence and that's when he realised that he had been staring at her the entire time while he his mind couldn't stop thinking of her. He quickly let go of her hand before he looked down. "Mum..." Jaemin mumbled softly. Why did she need to embarrass him in front of Florence like that.
"Let him be honey. Remember our time. I did much more than wha-" "Appa." Jaemin said in a stern voice, not wanting to hear what he was about to say. He was sure that he would already mention grandchildren and at this point, Jaemin wasn't ready for that and he was sure that Florence thought the same about it.
Their relationship was new. They barely knew each other. They had to start all the way at the bottom and get their relationship working. He didn't wanted to promise her that he would instantly fall in love with her because he wasn't sure of that himself. Even-though, he was already falling for her without even realising it.
"Aerso, son. Don't worry." His father chuckled. Jaemin was looking up to see where his brother was. He was pretty sure that he was doing something he wasn't supposed to do and today was not the day to agitate him. He didn't wanted to show his bad side of himself to Florence already. Not on her first night here.
"Should we go inside? My poor daughter is freezing." Jaemin's mother let out as soon as she saw her shivering slightly. Florence awkwardly smiled before she shook her head, denying and lying about what she had just said. Jaemin's eyes fell upon her and he didn't waste a second to lead her inside, forgetting about the fact that his little brother was still missing.
Jaemin just smiled while Florence let him do what he wanted to do. Her eyes were scanning the mansion they lived in. It was smaller than what her father lived in and it looked much more like home than her father's house ever did. The beautiful light surrounding the pavement floor made Florence smile. It made her feel like Christmas was already here and would never leave. It was long past gone that.
The massive trees that filled the place with pure nature and beauty made everything better. It finished off the entire picture. As soon as the doors flew upon, Jinwoo shouted "Welcome home!" startling Florence. She jumped up slightly while Jaemin shot a death glare towards his younger brother.
"Omo... I didn't mean to scare you." He quickly apologised, seeing how his entire family was already annoyed with the way he had scared the poor girl that still had to get used to his spontaneous personality. "Ani... It's okay." Florence smiled.
She would be lying if she had said that she didn't like his personality. Jinwoo reminded him so much of Minjun. It truly felt like his presence wasn't gone. He was still with her. By thinking of him, her tears started to burn in her eyes. She didn't wanted to become emotional all over again because there was no need to be. It looked like Jaemin wasn't that kind of man to stop her from seeing her best friend.
"Please come inside." Jinwoo said and allowed everyone to come inside. Florence's eyes slightly widened to see how artistic the house looked. It was modern but at the same time, it felt so homey. Something she loved about a house and always wanted too.
"Should we give you a quick tour?" Jinwoo asked. Jaemin quickly shook his head. "You already scared her. I will give it to her." He insisted. "But hyung...-" "Let this man show his wife around in their new home. You will understand when you get one." His father said. Jinwoo pouted sadly but didn't argue back. Florence was glad to be put out of the spotlight. She felt everyone's attention onto her and as a introvert, it was quite uncomfortable.
At many times, she had no idea what to say or how to respond which scared her. She didn't wanted to come over rude. Most of all, she wanted to do a lot for this family. They were treating her so good and all she wanted to do was give something back to them. A part of showing her gratitude towards them.
"Come with me..." He said in a soothing voice while still not letting go of her hand. She nodded her head while they both walked out of the main entrance. She could see some people walking around which she assumed must have been people that work fort them.
All their eyes landed on the new bride while Jaemin tried showing Florence the best places. The mansion was quite big. She would need to get used to it.
“This is the kitchen but you don’t need to come here. People work for us.” He said with a smile. Florence nodded her head but she knew more than anyone that she would spend her days here in the kitchen to cook for them.
She wanted to know whether they would like that...
While still holding each other’s hands, Jaemin showed her around everywhere until he came back to his own room. He swallowed his saliva down before opening the door without really saying anything to Florence.
“And... This is our room.” He said in a low voice. His eyes slightly widened when he saw the candles lightening up the room. There were rose paddles on the bed while on the floor there was a trail leading it to the floor.
The entire room smelled so nice. Florence’s heart beat up to her throat when she saw the condoms in the middle of the bed. Jaemin quickly walked over to the bed when he saw a small note. He already knew that this was Jinwoo.
‘Dear brother and Florence,
Have a fun night.
- Jinwoo.’
Jaemin closed his eyes out of annoyance before turning himself around to tell his brother off but stopped in between when he knew that Florence was now here. It made him rethink every action he would take.
“I am so sorry... I hope you know that... that I don’t expect this from you.” Jaemin said, trying to not make her feel pressured at all. Their relationship was as new as a new life. He didn’t wanted to come over like a cruel and cold hearted person that he only was to people while working.
Florence’s heart slightly sank when she heard his sentence leave his mouth. She didn’t know how to take it. A part of her was relieved but the last thing she wanted was a relationship without love...
She wanted to grow closer to him.
“I-I...” Her cheeks were burning. She didn’t know how to respond but only looked away from him. Jaemin clicked his tongue before he sighed out and walked towards her.
“I won’t force you with anything. We can share the bed but if you are not comfortable-“ “No... that’s not a problem... really.” Florence was quick to answer him back, making it look like she was eager for it.
She didn’t wanted to cause something that could tear them apart or prevent them from being closer. They had to start somewhere and sleeping on the same bed could help them bond more... She wanted that kind of relationship with him. She wanted to mean something to him.
“I have to say... something or... more ask...” Florence said in a low voice. Jaemin’s heart was beating so fast. His mind was just thinking of that one thing. s*x.
“I-I don’t know if you know... but I work as a nurse... euhm. Can I continue working?” She asked in the most kind way. He was a bit taken back about what she was asking. He didn’t know that she was this obedient. Most Korean girls were not at this stage and a part of him questioned why she was like that.
He couldn’t help but to think that her father treat her wrong. He wouldn’t be surprised. He didn’t even attend the wedding.
He slightly chuckled out of disbelief. “You don’t need to ask me for permission to work... We are equal and together. I won’t make you stop doing something you love. I don’t mind you and Minjun either. I hope you don’t think of me as a strict husband because I am not.” He said with a smile.
He could instantly tell how relieved she was. She smiled before saying, “Thank you...”
