"We understand" The three of them had risen and left with a very solemn statement. I decided not to comment more on that because it was stupid and I wasn't going to be one, for Mom's sake at least. They were responsible, and that fury lit my heart. If there was anything I had left off my life as a reason to exist, then it would be; purely to avenge her. But why her? She was this insanely pure being that was happy to reach where she had, with all that hard work and patience. Why did the world hurt all the good people? Why couldn't they just take a piece of what the rich had? I sighed and tried not to cry. It was time and above, that my life made its next step. And now I felt real. Dad was with me. My best friend was. And I was ready. "This is the report" Rayan had brought the medical copies from a small blood testing lab, downtown. He had made sure to keep it as a confidential business by paying them lab person, who was a bit too shocked, because she was never used to all that. But maybe because we didn't wanna take risk, we decided to overtake all that beforehand. "Yes, it does say poison." I gritted. "Its a toxin. It activates in the blood, after a usual time period of maybe minutes to hours. The dose was miniature, and very hard to detect." "And the reports they gave?", Rayan turned to Dad who slightly nodded. He smirked, "f**k these rich people! They play around all day, and dismiss matters like lives" I decided not to lose control of my emotions. "How long does it take for the poison to disappear from the blood sample" "Again minutes. Precisely, only 15 minutes. They apparently had to coagulate the sample twice, to detect the tiny sample left in it. Trace amounts and that too, through radioactive detection" My tongue twirled, 'You mean, this was not some accident right?" Rayan shrugged, "95 percent not. Though maybe a 5 percent of somebody actually carrying amounts of the toxin in their hand, and it is popping straight into the liquid food Aunt was going to consume, specifically minutes after, that would stangle her airway and kill her" My eyes popped in agony. That was utter bullshit. "Anna, this is something more" "But why her....", I yelled. "We don't know. But you have to find out" Dad looked tired again. His walking stick was wobbly from all this news and he turned around to take a seat. I stumbled upon a chair which he sat upon. "Careful, love" It had been a while since he called me that. "Dad..." My head bent forward to rest on his knee. He patted it and grinned, "My darling shouldn't come out as a loser, but I admit we can't do this alone. We are poor" "That won't change the fact mom died without a reason" He hummed, "I don't want to lose you too" "You won't...but give me this chance" He looked at me, dearly and sighed, "Anna, I believe you" Those words gave me an immense strength that I cannot explain with words. Rayan took my shoulders and marked the obvious, 'You will have to crawl yourselves in." 'Their house? That won't be hard" He shook his head "Into their heart. That, mate, is hard" "I hope all your stuff is okay" I looked around and nodded. Neccessities packed into one bag and a lot of other things on either side packs. Rayan had helped to gather the items. We had started off of from home after bidding Dad goodbye and moved to his hostel, which was down the hill. NaversLand is a beauty, with lanes and hills here and there, greenery shining off the sunlight for some smooth climate and pit patteing rain. Though it was hard to believe it existed inches away from the populated city of Bustle, where I was now. 'Anyway, don't worry about your dad. I got him" That I was sure of. Rayan was my mate from high school. We completed it together and moved to our special locations for some training in our hobbies. Coincidence as it seemed, we met again and now, nothing could separate us. Though Dad often put forward glimpses of we being in love, that s**t was ignored and we moved forward as best buddies. He needed me and got me. So did I. Nothing complicated in between which I was glad of. "Socks, gloves and toothbrush. Stuff you will always need" Well, yeah. I was pretty cringe in that sense. "Enouh clothes, and enough money." I looked at the tiny zpper where a blue car stuck out, 'No man" "Yes, you are taking it. I'm in charge of you now" My eyes went to his fingers which turned me around. Then sticking a finger into my head, he gave me a tiny pony tail. "Geez, how awkward was that..", I had to say something. "Well, that wasn't a romance. You got a tracker in that ribbon girl." I blushed hard. Jesu, why was I so obvious? "I guess that will be in need" 'It always is, yeah" Anyway, I laughed. "You better be careful." I nodded and turned around to face him. He grimaced, 'I see that revengeful, angry woman in there. That ain't gonna get you inside" His fingers went to the ends of my lips, and he stretched it. "Thats it...smile" I smiled, pretty fakingly and he sneered, "How original!" 'You ain't getting a real" He grinned widely, 'That sense of humour and a good smile will get you somewhere, hopefully" We had reached outside and a taxi arrived, 'You know what to do" 'Call after I reach, yeah", I gave him a hug, like how brothers during a separation did. But this time, his hands went to my head and squeezed it, 'Be careful girl" "I will" That hug and the tiny squeeze he gave me, made me tear up a bit. But without another one glacne, I got inside and the scenic sped off. My thoughts of mother and her beautiful smile took me off.
