Ink I felt terrible. The guys had told us Gears’ sister was coming up this way and asked that we keep an eye on her. Which we did from afar. We had seen her out with a guy a lot, and everything seemed fine. Not wanting to mess with anything she had going on, we left things alone. But now I was pissed. We should have done more. We didn’t hold up our end of the deal. When Gears called, I was actually kind of surprised. It was late, but none of us were sleeping. It was one of the guy’s birthdays, and we liked to party. Once they had Lizzy’s location, I grabbed a few guys, and we headed out. He didn’t know what happened, only that she called and was asking for help.  When we got to her, she was scared, you could see it. But with a bit of coaxing, she headed out with us. A guy standing across the street had her backing up, though, and bumping into Tank. The poor guy looked mean as hell and even worse when he saw the bruises on her sides when her shirt lifted slightly after she fell. The poor girl was terrified, but after a bit more coaxing, she let us leave with her. A few of the guys stayed behind, knowing I wanted to keep tabs on the guy across the street. Until we knew for sure, he was responsible. Until Gears and them got here, we wouldn’t do anything. If he was the one responsible for the marks on her body, I would give her family first dibs. Either way, the guy would pay. We may be assholes and not the nicest guys in the world. Hell, we all went through our women like flavors of ice cream. But we all drew the line at laying our hands on a woman in any way that would hurt her. There was a difference between a woman enjoying a bit of pain in the moment and beating a woman. And whoever this guy was clearly had beaten her. The few bruises we could see from the short glimpse we got, I was sure this wasn’t the first time either.  After getting her back to the clubhouse, I put her in my office. Tank and I tried again to get her to tell us what happened, but she wouldn’t budge, and I didn’t want to scare her more, so we backed off. After a while, she fell asleep, and Tank retrieved a blanket from his room he kept upstairs along with a pillow for her so she could be a little more comfortable on the couch in my office. A few hours later, Jax called me. “Yeah?” I could hear Gears in the background talking with someone. “We are getting Gunner and his old lady. It will take us about eight hours to get to you.” I walked a bit away from the main room, away from all the noise. “Jax, did she say what happened?” There was a slight pause on his end. “No, she wouldn’t say. Only that she couldn’t go back to her apartment.” I sighed, “Gunner’s old lady is a doctor, right?” Again a pause, “Yeah.” I sighed again, “She is going to need to look her over, man. We couldn’t get her to talk, but she got scared and tripped when we picked her up, and her shirt lifted slightly. Man, she is covered in bruises.” I could hear him talking to Gears and probably Gunner and his old lady. I waited while they went back and forth a bit. “Gunner said we can be there in a few hours.” With that, he hung up. I was sure they were now breaking a tone of laws as they made their way here. After hanging up with them, I checked in with the guys following the guy we saw, and they said he went back to the apartment. I told them to keep an eye on him. If he left, I wanted to know where he went. When I was done, I went back into my office and waited for the guys to show. With Lizzy sleeping on the couch, I worked on club s**t I had been putting off to pass the time.  It took them six hours to drive straight through. Tank came and got me letting me know when they pulled up. Leaving Lizzy to sleep, I headed out, greeting them. A hand full of the other guys had tensed, not knowing what was going on. All they knew was three members of another club just pulled up out front along with a woman. None of them looked happy at all. But when I walked over to greet them, everyone relaxed a bit. “She is in my office sleeping on the couch.” I looked at Gunner’s old lady. “She wouldn’t let us take a look at her, but she needs to be looked at.” She nodded. I motioned for them all to follow me and walked them inside. The party from last night had died down, and most of the guys had gone off with all the girls, and only a few guys were still downstairs and up. While we waited for Gunner’s old lady to look over their daughter, we stayed in the hall. “What the hell happened?” I shook my head. “I don’t know. We checked up on her a few times, and nothing ever seemed out of the ordinary. She was seeing a guy, but they seemed happy.” I was angry with myself and wouldn’t hold it against the guy if he was pissed with us. I am sure he wanted to say more, but then we heard Lizzy scream, and he burst into the office. From where we were in the hall, we could all get a good look at her back. It looked like the guy used more than his fists. Some of those bruises were too big to be from a fist anyway. A quick look was all we got before the door was closed. I turned back to Gears and Jax. “I am so sorry, guys. We never made contact, only keeping an eye on her from a distance.” Gears shook his head, “She would have been pissed if you made contact. Probably would have insisted on changing schools.”  That didn’t really make me feel better, but it would have to do for now. My office door opened again. This time Gunner’s old lady was the one who opened it, letting the rest of us in. None of us said anything while Gunner got Lizzy to talk. When she was done, Tank and I stepped back out, letting them speak to her some more. It wasn’t long, and the three of them followed behind. In fact, I only had enough time to call and check in with my guys, who were keeping an eye on the guy we saw. He was still at the apartment. Gunner was the last to come out of the office, before he could close the door, his old lady stopped him. “What are you going to do?” Turning, he leaned down and kissed her, “Club business.” She nodded, “Be careful.” He nodded and watched as she closed the door before turning back to the rest of us. “Let’s go hunting.” It took all of a half a second for the guy to go from loving and caring to ready to kill. I had seen the look before many times, and I knew the guy wasn’t going to live another day. That should bother me, but it didn’t. If they didn’t kill him, one of my guys would. I was slightly surprised though, The Thunder Wolves were not known for being ruthless like The Spiked Eagles. But by Gears and Jax’s reaction as they followed Gunner out, this wasn’t the first time they had “gone hunting.” Tank and I followed them all out. I didn’t even have to tell them where the guy was. They went straight over to the apartment. To my surprise, the i***t had the apartment door unlocked. Gunner walked right into the apartment, taking the guy by surprise. “Who the f**k are you?” Gunner slammed the guy against the wall. “Lizzy’s father, that's who the f**k I am. Also, the last face you will ever see.” The guy's eyes went wide for a second before Gunner began beating the s**t out of the guy.
