Marty:
She's sitting in the center of the courtyard making mud pies as we waited for the moonlight to be right over her. She looks adorable in her white fluffy robe gathering the mud and piling it together. I rolled my eyes. Nathan is itching to go over to her. I think if she had her way he would be sitting with her making mud pies with her. The two of them would forget that Cameron and I are here at all.
"Is she going to be in pain?" Nathan asked looking up at the moonlight as it inched closer.
"Did it hurt when you shifted for the first time?" I asked he looked at me with hurt in his eyes as his wolf made him whine.
"I hate you right now," he sighed heavily. I pulled the bottom of my long t-shirt to cover a little more of my bare legs.
"She's going to be fine," I reassured the three of us, glancing up at the clock that was put on one of the watchtowers to the prison. It's time. We all walked over to her.
Amy sat there looking up at the sky. She's entranced by it. The wolf in her is responding the way it should. I can see the wolf raging inside of her. Her eyes slowly began to glaze over from their natural baby blue to amber. Her eyes snapped to me. She slowly stood up without looking away from me. I stopped Cam and Nate from going any closer as I called my wolf forward. She was already on alert waiting for any signs of distress.
"My name is Amanitak Novak," she spoke. I smiled at the sound of her wolf growling in her voice with a mixture of the two of them. "My alpha?" she looked up at the moon before she to face me. Her eyes began to darken the only color in them was the amber of her irises. I let my wolf take over. "Alpha Martak Novak," she whispered addressing me. "I bind myself to you as a pack member to protect and honor you and your family for as long as I shall live," Her eyes flickered like a golden light as she slowly lowered herself to the floor looking at me waiting for my approval.
"I accept you as part of my family and part of my pack," my wolf and I growled.
She lowered her head in submission. I pulled my shirt off and howled letting my wolf charge forward. We shifted just as we stopped in front of her. My wolf sat down in front of her new pup and howled up at the moon calling Amy's wolf forward.
Amy began to cry out and shake uncontrollably as her bones began to readjust themselves to take form. She's struggling. My wolf lowered her body encouraging her to stop fighting the pain. It kills me to see her like this.
Finally, after what felt like hours later the yellow fur began to sprawl out all over her new form. Her small wolf jumped up playfully nudging my wolf on the side. The pride in my wolf echoed through me as she wagged her tail jumping around me. Then she spotted Nathan. She stopped and sat down waiting for him to do something that would let her know it was okay for her to approach him.
Call her or go to her you ass. I sent through the link as she sat there waving her tail back and forth slapping it against the mud.
"Baby, you are so f*****g cute," he finally beamed covering his mouth trying to keep himself from crying. That's all he had to say though because she jumped with a little yap and tackled him to the floor licking him and rubbing her body on him staking her claim.
"Stay in the area bring her home before two," I said looking up at the clock as I pulled my t-shirt back on. He shifted without hesitation joining Amy.
"That was amazing," Cameron said.
"Yeah, she is such a pup," I laughed watching her jump around Nate's brown wolf that's twice her size.
"I'm telling you, kid. She reminds me of you when you first shifted," I sighed wishing I could go back to that time. "We have to talk about the elephant in the prison,"
"I don't know what to do, Cam. He killed so many of us. My parents, your mate, what am I supposed to do forgive him and let him take his place by my side and reign over all the lives he ruined?"
"Look, kid, I don't know what you did in a past life to deserve this but know that whatever you decide we don't have to like it. This is your decision and whatever you do we will follow or we know where the door is. That is all there is to it. Whatever you choose it will be up to you, baby girl. Make sure it's what you want and what you need,"
Cameron walked me to the old packhouse and watched as I walked in. He gave the guard a couple of orders and left. The house that had once been filled with my laughter and the sounds of a beautiful home are nowhere to be found and for that, I can not let go of what he did to us. I may have already forgiven him for all the pain I have been through but not theirs. Never theirs. They will always come first.
I have to let him know that even with all the s**t he has been through. All he has had to endure and do, he can be forgiven and shown mercy. I can show him the correct path to follow. I will never be his luna or have any kind of relationship with him but I am his soulmate. I'll be damned if the only thing he'll be known for is killing his mate's parents.
Being around my pack makes me happy. It makes me feel like there is more than this emptiness to look forward to. I don't know if this will save me but I know it would honor everything my parents represented. Their belief that everyone can be saved. I dishonored their memory the moment I considered death as an outlet. To save myself, I have to save him first. It's not going to be easy but this is what I have decided. It's what is best for all of us.
