In the end, she went with plain, simple, and flexible. Light blue jeans, and a white round neck, light sweater with lace on the edge. Then boots. She put her chestnut back-length hair into a French twist that perfected the look. When she stepped out, she found Sky in the living room receiving a call. Typical businessman. He looked up as he saw her approach, then said something on the phone and hung up.
"If there's a reception service here, it means I'm not that far away from home. Wouldn't take as much as I thought to get out." She commented just to spite him. He narrowed his eyes at her then smiled lightly. Almost a smirk but not quite.
"I wish you wouldn't but you can try." He told her then started to the door. She followed.
She half expected him to open the door for her but he just went on. "Where are we going?" She asked when they were both out the door.
"First, I'll show you around town. It's quite a large place. But we'll mainly go to the commercial sites. Then I need to introduce you to the higher ups of the pack." He explained as he started walking towards a small looking shed.
What about breakfast? She wondered but didn't say it. instead, she followed falling into step with him.
"Introduced as what? Your mate?" She asked and he quirked an 'Are you seriously asking me that?' Kind of brow at her and she stopped.
He didn't acknowledge it.
"No. I refuse to be pushed into a relationship I might not want. And as such refuse to be introduced as a partner in such a relationship." He sighed then glanced at her over his shoulder as he clicked a button.
"Unless you want to get labelled an intruder and wind up dead or thrown in the dungeon, which I'm never going to let happen, then you'd do yourself and me a favor and either completely the mating process or get introduced into the pack manually." Sky explained.
"What does completing the mating process entail?" She asked as she stopped beside him in front of the now open shed looking structure.
Sky looked at her. From her pretty eyes to her perk nose and usually unsmiling mouth. Her lips were...he moved on before he could dwell. The clothes she chose was modest but shaped her body perfectly. She had a wonderfully curved body. Sexy as hell. And she was standing there, so close to him and asking in that light, airy voice of hers about the mating process. How was he supposed to resist that?
His body already tense from their almost kiss earlier, an idea came into his mind and he stepped closer to her. The stubborn woman didn't move back an inch, she just raised her chin so she could look at his face. She wasn't short. Far from it. Probably 5'8 but she was not match for his 6'2 so by the time he was in front of her barely 2 inches away, she was craning her neck slightly.
Kayleigh's heart sped. Half of her mind urged her to move back. To stop the assault he was having on her senses. He was so close she was breathing the same air as him. He smelled amazing. Like scented wood and light mint. And strong powerful male. She needed to move back. But she was not ready to admit that he made her knees weak. So, she stood her ground.
His lips lifted slightly at her stubbornness. He found it amusing to watch the inner battle he could see in her quite expressive eyes. He stopped when his lips was a breath away from hers "It entails this right down to its natural conclusion." He whispered before covering her lips with his.
How did his lips feel better than just the day before? Was it possible that something that already felt out of this world amazing could feel even better? Maybe it would be okay to just let herself go with this, she thought to herself for what felt like the millionth time.
That line of thought did a perfect job of jerking her right out of the trance. She pulled away and moved back. He groaned not opening his eyes.
"Let's add never kiss me again to the list of rules, shall we?" She told him and he opened his eyes slowly.
He stood silently looking at her. She was a gorgeous specimen and he was quite sure that even if he intended to try to not kiss her, he would fail. But he didn't even want to try.
"No." He stated firmly before going into the shed turning on the light as he entered.
"No? Why do you mean...holy Freya mother of all amazing things." Kayleigh froze as she entered the shed and gaped.
Cars. Six amazing gorgeous cars in one huge garage. Her eyes popped. Kayleigh Delia Murray exactly three weaknesses. Strawberries, her sister and gorgeous fast cars.
There were 2 Ferraris, a Lamborghini, two Audis and a big jeep.
When Kayleigh talked of dreams come true this was it. "These are amazing." She stated practically drooling as she walked through the cars. "Damn...I've been wanting a Ferrari for so long....I didn't even care what version it was. But this…daaamn.”
"You're a car enthusiast?"
"If by enthusiast, you mean I live for sweet rides then yeah. How do you get these all the way here anyway?" She asked and he just shrugged.
"Come on let's go. We'll be late for our tour" He said picking the Audi A5 keys from the hook on the wall.
"Number one you can't be late for a tour. Two, can I drive?"
"Yes, you can. And definitely not." He answered opening the passenger door for her.
"Why not?" She almost pouted if she did not solely believe in not being childish.
"You girls have clothes and make up and nail polish and any other sparkly stuff and I have my cars." He explained simply.
"I will have you know I have never so much as scratched a car in my life." Excluding that one time where the car was so damaged it was irreparable but he didn't need to know that?
"Just get in Kayleigh. We have a lot of ground to cover." He sighed putting a hand to his temple. She was giving him the human equivalent of a headache.
She was going to say something else but decided against it and just entered the car. A second after he closed the door, he was at the other side. "If I didn't hate you so much right now, I'd tell you how much I wished I could move that fast." She said and he laughed.
"I could just carry you." He stated simply.
"Charming." She rolled her eyes as he drove out of the garage and continued on.
"I have a question."
"I have a million questions but you don't see me asking them do you?"
"I like having answers." He said simply and when she didn't reply he continued "Do witches grow like humans?"
"Wouldn't you like to know." She answered after a moment.
"Come on," he urged "Please." he added for good measure and she sighed.
"I'm only answering because I don't like being badgered. Yes. Witches grow exactly like humans."
"Oh." He frowned. "You can ask me anything you want to know."
"How do I get out of here?" She asked immediately.
"That's easy. You wait till the war is over or otherwise not as dangerous and when its safe, if you still want to go then I will take you. Personally."
"I could murder you."
"You can’t even get me to pass out." He assured her.
"Where are we?" She asked noticing they had entered a place with lots of buildings.
"It's the commercial center. One of the important places to note of. What type of food do you like?" He asked her and when she looked at him quizzically, he explained "I thought you'd like some food before we start.
"It's breakfast Wesley. You can just walk into any food place with a breakfast menu"
"Yeah sure. If you want a turkey for breakfast, be my guest"
"Who eats turkey for breakfast?"
"Wolves have a raging appetite."
"Toast maybe coffee and Apple juice" She answered and he nodded before turning a corner
He pulled into the parking lot of a small orange and white building with a sign that said Maggie's. It looked like one of those places where you would come with your friends to discuss the latest gossip.
"We're here." Sky announced as he came out of the car. Kayleigh did the same and took in the building in front of her.
"It's pretty." She commented and Sky nodded in answer going ahead and leaving her to follow after him.
The inside was beautiful. It had counter spaces, booths and simple tables. The floor was crystal blue tiles while the walls were the same bright orange as the exterior. There were a few landscape pictures and beautifully calligraphed writings on the wall. One of them read 'Don't Worry. Be happy.'
Sky looked around quickly and started towards the secluded table on the right. He didn't want to take chances with Kayleigh. The fewer people she actually met the better for now. He was lucky since there were only about 4 people in the café. All teenagers. There were on the left laughing quietly.
"Why not take the booth?" Kayleigh asked.
"Are you ready to be introduced to meet all the people of the pack?" He asked, "People will see me then see you and word travels fast around here. There'll be a crowd by the time we're ready to leave."
"I see." She said and sat on the chair he pulled out. "Looks like you got your date after all." She commented.
"This is hardly the place for a date. Talk more of a first date." He said simply.
