London’s POV
She was forgiving. She was kind. I couldn’t help but smile when she asked me to watch a movie with her when she asked me to spent time with her. I wasn’t much into movies. Well, I was at some point in the past, but as my work grew, my responsibilities did as well which meant that something as simple as watching a movie and eating popcorn at home was basically impossible. But with her, I was willing to give it a chance. Willing to take a break.
Don’t get me wrong, I knew she was a hooker. She was someone I rented and soon had to give back, but it was refreshing to have someone who wasn’t like the others. In this case, Madame Elenore did a good job. She chose the right person for the job and for that I was thankful. At least I wasn’t stuck with some stuck-up princess, like Lina or some overly excited w***e who didn’t know s**t about boundaries and who would have already tried to jump my bones 27 times.
Her smile was big when she came out to me in the kitchen wearing her oversized shirt and her hair in a messy bun.
“How’s the popcorn coming?” she asked.
“I don’t know,” I said as I bend down and looked into the microwave. “Is it supposed to look like that?” I asked as I watched a small cloud of smoke take form.
“Definitely not!” she exclaimed as she opened it and grabbed the popcorn bag.
She rushed to the sink and threw them in and turned on the cold water.
“Auch,” she winced and looked at her fingertips that were now red.
“Did you burn yourself?” I asked as I rushed to her side.
“It’s not bad,” she assured me. “However, your popcorn skills are another story,” she chuckled.
“I think it’s pretty good for a first try,” I said with a shrug.
“Well yeah but… wait first try?” she asked with her head slightly tilted to the side.
“Yeah?”
“You’ve never made popcorn before?”
“No, I always just got them like this or had people making them for me,” I chuckled.
“Well, there is a first time for everything and today you will learn how to make popcorn!” she said with a determined look on her face. “Come here.”
She grabbed a new bag and looked at me.
“First you shake it for good luck, you don’t have to do that, but my mother always told me that if you do that you will get less burned popcorns,” she smiled. “Then you put it in the microwave and watch it closely. The heat must be on medium, not high,” she said strictly and turned down the heat.
“Ah-ha,” I exclaimed. “Like this.”
“Exactly and now, we wait.”
She walked to the counter behind her, turned around, and tried to jump up. I couldn’t help but laugh at her attempt. I walked to her, grabbed her by the waist, and lifted her.
“That’s what I get for being so stupidly small,” she sighed.
“It suits you,” I shrugged.
Her eyes flickered to mine and our eyes locked. Her ocean eyes were captivating and luring. There was no doubt that I was lost as soon as she looked at me from under her lashes, looking up at me. That face, those eyes, and those plump lips that I was dying to taste.
Before I knew it, we were both leaning in.
So close, almost there, I thought to myself. Just a little more and I would get to taste her.
Until the bell from the microwave made us snap out of it.
“I’m so sorry,” she gushed. “I don’t know what came over me. Heat of the moment you know,” she said as she let out a shy and nervous laugh.
“Y-yeah, heat of the moment,” I agreed as I cleared my throat. “What now?” I asked and pointed to the popcorn.
“Now, you take them out of the bag and pour them into a bowl, can you find me one?”
I reached down to the cabinet in the corner and pulled one out and handed it to her, I watched as she emptied the bag into it and after that grabbed the salt and butter.
I lifted my brow as she scooped butter out and threw it in the bowl.
“Trust me,” she laughed as she noticed my staring.
She shook the bowl without spilling and then grabbed me by the arm, dragging me along.
I reached out to taste when she swapped my arm away.
“Hey!” I exclaimed.
“You have to wait for the movie,” she scolded with a pout on her face.
I burst out laughing at the sight to which she cracked a smile. She threw the remote at me and told me to choose whatever I wanted.
Once the movie had started, she handed me the bowl and looked at me waiting for my reaction.
“Sweet, but salty,” I said as I chewed. “I like it.”
“I knew you would,” she smiled. “Only a moron wouldn’t appreciate the taste of my magical popcorns.”
Halfway through the movie, I felt her head fall on my shoulder. I considered moving it until I looked down and saw her face. It was peaceful. So peaceful and a small smile played on her lips. The lips I had been so close to tasting earlier if it hadn’t been for the damn bell.
I sighed and sunk even further into the couch. My eyes grew heavier by the second and I knew that soon she wouldn’t be the only one asleep.
Kimberly’s POV
I woke up feeling squashed and unable to move. For a second, I was about to freak out until I realized that I wasn’t in any danger. That I realized where I was. I had my head on Landon’s lap and his arm draped over me holding me close. I turned my head to the right to see his sleeping face. He was lying in a weird position that looked really uncomfortable, yet his face was peaceful. I watched in silence as his chest rose and fell with every breath he took.
“You’re staring,” he mumbled with a small smile on his lips.
“I would never,” I said fake hurt.
He looked down at me and for a second, just a second, everything felt as if it had always been like this.
“We should get up,” he sighed. “My back is killing me.”
“That’s what you get for sleeping like that,” I frowned. “Why didn’t you just go to bed?”
“You were sleeping on me, and I didn’t want to wake you,” he shrugged.
“You could have moved me,” I laughed as I got up. “I am a heavy sleeper.”
“That would have been good to know,” he said as he stretched. “I’ll go shower. You should do the same.”
“You saying I smell?” I asked with a grin.
“No, but I’m sure you don’t want to go for breakfast with your hair like that,” he smiled as he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.
“Right,” I whispered as I got lost in his eyes.
They looked so caring at me. Like eyes had never looked my way before. Flashes from yesterday came to my mind and I quickly turned away.
“I’ll go get ready then,” I said quickly and left.
After our little episode in the kitchen yesterday I didn’t want to risk anything. It wasn’t because what happened bothered me, it was because I was scared of what would happen after. Of what it would lead to.
I felt my body heat up just by the thought of it and I mentally kicked myself.
A cold shower was all I needed to calm down.
My body was betraying me in every way possible. Never had I ever felt the desire to sleep with a man like I felt the need to sleep with Landon. To feel his lips caressing my skin, his hands roam my body, and most importantly, his c**k inside me. I shuttered just at the thought of it.
I turned the water cold before going in. I needed to calm down and remember why I was here. I had a job to do and for once it was a job that didn’t require me to sell my body. I should be grateful for the opportunity. I should be grateful to him for not wanting to sleep with me. So why wasn’t I? Why did it bother me so much that I finally got what I wanted? A nicely paid job that wasn’t like any of the jobs I had had up until now. I should be happy and instead, I was feeling… disappointed.
