The make-up artist looked at me again. She picked a nude color lipstick and applied it to my lips.
"Perfect!" She exclaimed.
I smiled at her. “Thank you.”
She handed me a pair of emerald earrings. I wore the earrings and looked at my reflection in the mirror. I smiled, I'm satisfied.
“You’re ready, Bea!” She smiled sweetly. “Congratulations!”
My eyes twinkled. “Thank you very much, Miss Violet.”
After thanking her, I ambled out of my room and went to the room next to mine. What I saw there made my heart skip a beat.
In the middle of the room, I saw a mannequin wearing my gown. It's a mixed of fit and flare and sheath style of a wedding dress. The top of the gown to its hem is very detailed. Classy and elegant. Simple but glamorous.
I approached my gown. Today is my wedding day but I still can’t believe what’s going to happen later. I’m ecstatic! It’s like a fairytale with a happy ending and ever after.
But for me, today will be the beginning of my fairytale with the prince charming I chose since I was a kid.
One of the maids entered and helped me so that I can wear my wedding gown.
I'm looking at my reflection when I heard a knock on the door. I saw my Mom peeking.
"My daughter…" She went inside the room and looked at me. "Look at you, Sweetie. You are fully a woman now. I still can't believe that you're really getting married."
I smiled sweetly. I felt like I'm floating on a cloud nine. "This felt surreal, Mom," I said as I looked at my gown. "I felt like I’m dreaming.”
My Mom teared up a bit. "Are you happy, Sweetie?"
I nodded. "Very much, Mommy. This is not just a dream come true. This is what my heart wanted ever since. Marrying Jazon, be his wife and live with him forever!"
Mommy hugged me. "As long as you are happy, Beatriz."
I felt like she has something to tell me but I ignored it. Maybe she’s just really surprised that I'm marrying the man of my dreams.
"Girls?" Dad entered the room. "Let's go?"
He held my elbow and guided me walking. My Mom followed us.
We are in a hotel that near the church where my wedding will take place. Everyone we saw in the hallway congratulated me. Their greetings made my heart full. They’re happy for me and I’m very thankful for that.
The whole world seems happy with me.
"How about Jazon, Dad?" I asked when I got inside the bridal car.
"Don't worry, Sweetie. He's already there, waiting for his wife," Dad answered.
We took maybe ten minutes before we arrived at the church. There are so many people at the front of the church.
"Jazon is already inside, Beatriz," Dad informed me.
They helped me with my gown as I get out from the bridal car.
The wedding organizer told me a few things then I saw everyone went inside.
"Best friend, look at you, Beatriz! You are stunning and glowing!" With a teary eye, Lucettia hugged me. She's amazingly beautiful in her peach gown. "Here's your bouquet." She handed me a bouquet composed of peach and pink roses.
"Thank you, Lucett!"
She pouted. "I don't want to give you to Jazon, Bea. I want us to stay single, then get married later. A double wedding!"
I giggle. "There's still time, Lucett. Go and grab anyone so we can have a double wedding."
The witch rolled her eyes.
I chuckled at her reaction. "Nothing will change, Lucett. We can still do what we used to do."
"Yeah, right!" She hissed.
I heard the wedding march. The organizer motioned me to get ready. Everyone went inside in a pair. From the ring bearer and flower girls to the sponsors and bridesmaids and groomsmen.
It's a very traditional church wedding. A wedding that I dreamed of.
Lucettia hit my bottom lightly before she went inside the church.
Mom and Dad moved beside me.
"Nervous?" Dad asked before holding my hand. Mom held my other hand.
"And excited," I said.
"Do you really want to marry him, Sweetie?" Again, Dad asked me.
I nodded. "Dad..."
He simpered. "Alright! I'm just concern with my only daughter."
I laughed and kissed my parents. "You don't have to worry about me, Mom, Dad. Promise, I'll be happy." I assured them.
They both smiled.
Matt White's Love started to play.
We entered the church and slowly walked down the aisle. The decorations are perfect! There are many beautiful kinds of roses in the both side of the aisle. A red carpet on the floor with rose petals of different colors.
I saw Jazon in the altar waiting for me, his wife.
I've been in love with him since I was young. But I never thought that I can fall in love with him more, deeply.
My soon to be husband is drop-dead gorgeous wearing a white suit. His hair, his face. Everything about him is perfect.
I saw a strange emotion in his eyes but it quickly vanished before we reached him.
My Dad handed me to Jazon." Take care of my daughter, son."
I felt so much happiness when I heard Dad called Jazon his son.
Jazon hugged Dad and kissed my Mom. "I'll make her happy."
Matt White's Love stopped playing. He held my hand and we walked together to the front.
The classical piano piece is now playing as Jazon and I walked towards the Priest.
The mass started. After a while the Priest started the wedding ceremony. The priest asked everyone if there's someone who's not in favor our wedding.
I smiled shyly as Jazon held my waist then turned to our guests, raising his brow.
Everyone chuckled at his reaction.
"Alright, let's resume before the groom here threaten everyone with his stare," The priest said making everyone laugh.
Again, the priest read a short gospel before he turning to us. "Now let's hear their wedding vows."
Jazon held my hand. "Beatriz... Everyone who knows us knows how much you like me..."
Everyone laughed, I giggled.
"And that's what I really want," Jazon resumed. "You marked me, you waited for me not knowing that I'm waiting for you too. I waited for you to grow up, waited for you to explore while praying that you won't have a change of heart. Fortunately, after so many years, it's still me. I'm really honored, soon to be Mrs. Jazon Saavedra." He smirked.
My eyes welled up. It's not only me who waited for this to happen. Both of us.
"I will respect you, honor you, and cherish you as long as we both shall live. Today, I take you to be my wife and vow to help create for us a life of honesty, fidelity, trust, and love. To love you not as vow idea of you, but as you truly are. To grow with you, learn with you, and to live out our days hand in hand. Beatriz, I vow to be your husband, your best friend, your lover." Jazon pulled me slightly and kissed my hand he's holding.
Teary eyed, I started mine. "You are the man of my dreams. You are that star I want to get a hold and keep in my heart. You are the only one that can make my heart flutter. Yes, it started from a simple adoration then crush, and one day I realized that I'm in love with you..."
Jazon's lips rose.
" I never thought that this day will come and now that it's actually happening, I can't still believe this. You are my guide to love, my every wish, and the person I want to grow old with. I vow to kiss you every day, as we do today, with love and devotion. That each kiss we share from now, will be a remembrance of our wedding vows, our joy, and everything we share..." I paused.
"Jazon Lucas Saavedra, I chose you years ago, I'm choosing you now. I'll choose you over and over and over, without pause, without doubt, I'll keep choosing you."
I saw his expression darkened before turning to his usual soft expression.
The priest turned to Jazon. " Jazon Lucas Saavedra, do you take this woman, for your lawfully wedded wife, to love and cherish from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health?"
I felt nervous as I'm waiting for his answer which took a few seconds.
Jazon stared at me. Again, I saw a strange emotion in his eyes. "I do."
The priest faced me. " Now, Beatriz Cara Ledezma, do you take this man, for your lawfully wedded husband, to love and cherish from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health?"
"I do," I quickly answered.
"That's really a vows of love," the Priest commented. "It's time for exchanging rings."
Jazon took a ring from the cute mini-pillow. "I give this ring as a sign of my love." He slowly put the ring on my finger.
I got his and stared him. "I give this ring as a sign of my love." His fingers seem perfect with a wedding ring.
"Then, I pronounced you husband and wife!" The Priest announced. "Groom, you can now kiss the bride."
I got nervous when Jazon lifted my veil. He gently pulled me closer. I closed my eyes. I felt his hot breath touching my skin.
I heard people claps but all I care is his soft lips on mine.
My first love, my first kiss.
