Jean waited for Dominic to answer, but in fact, he was just silent. Jean then sighed in resignation. Was it that hard to say a little openly to her?  Jean knew they were not close yet, but now they were still together. She must get close to him so that she could understand Dominic a little. Although only a little, Jean can still be grateful than not at all.  "You said, you were in that place not because of your will. Then, how can you be in that place?" Jean jumped in shock. This was the longest, least irritating word Dominic had ever said to her.  Did Dominic change the subject?  "Do you really want to know?" Jean deliberately asked, wondering what kind of reaction if she asked him so. She was a little annoyed that Dominic answered her question with a question too. "You dare me?" Dominic lifted Jean until she was on Dominic's lap. Jean's face flushed red because Dominic stared at her. She actually wanted to lure Dominic, but instead, she became the bait.  Without Jean realising it, Dominic pun on a smirk smile. Dominic was pleased to see Jean's shy reaction when he teased her. "Don't want to say?" Dominic deliberately put his face in the niche of Jean's neck, then he blew it. It sent chills down her spine. Her body felt electrocuted with just his breath.  "You are fast on fire." Dominic kissed Jean on the cheek.  Jean's cheeks and ears flushed with embarrassment. Who knew, maybe Jean's shyness made him heated up.  Jean didn't know why since they got married, Dominic's attitude became even sweeter to her. Was Jean grateful for that?  "So?" Dominic asked again.  "Can you put me down first." Said Jean, asking to get off Dominic's lap.  "No, I like it like this." Dominic tightly hugged Jean's slender waist.  Jean cleared her throat as her heart was beating wildly, neutralising something in her when Dominic was plainly treating her sweetly.  "I was sold by my mom." Finally, Jean said it.  "Mom?" He asked.  "Yes, step mom. My mother has passed away." Jean tried to smile when her life was bitter. She told everything that had happened.  "I'm sorry for you, honey." Dominic stroked Jean's cheek with his thumb.  "Thanks. After all, this has happened. My destiny was sold by them in that place. They sold me for that much, but you bought a much more fantastic price." Jean tried to be strong, although her destiny said differently.  "Wait! You said them?" Dominic glared at Jean. Jean nodded in response.  "So the perpetrator is more than one?" Dominic asked her again. Jean nodded again.  "Who?" Dominic's voice was pressing. "He..." Jean hesitated to say it because the perpetrator who conspired to sell her, was her stepmother's young lover.  "Tell me." Said Dominic casually, but in Jean's ears it sounded very sharp.  Jean lowered her head. She was afraid that Dominic would turn cold. Besides, she also didn't want her family to be discovered by people. Dominic lifted Jean's chin so he could gaze deeply. He then kissed Jean's lips briefly.  "Don't be afraid, just tell me." Dominic's gaze softened and made Jean's heart melted.  "My stepmother has a lover, and they are plotting to sell me."  After saying that, Jean didn't cry at all. Her heart was too sore for them. First about their affair and then selling her as an auction woman. Her heart was already aching and hardened for them.  Somehow, Jean hoped that one day someone would repay their actions.  "My stepmother's lover also tried to rape me." Said Jean again.  Who knew why she wanted to tell Dominic everything as if she wanted to ask him for protection.  "What do you want from them?" Dominic pulled Jean and put her head on his shoulder. His hand gently stroked her shoulder, giving a thousand comforts for her.  "I want them to apologise to me and I hope they get what they have done to me." Her answer was honest.  Jean wanted them to be rewarded for what they had done to her. After saying that, Jean fell asleep in Dominic's lap.  ***  Jean blinked, adjusting the view of the retina from the light of her room. Her forehead frowned at the last moment before she was in her room and how embarrassing it was to remember the last time she was on Dominic's lap and fell asleep.  Jean saw the clock on the wall had shown nine o'clock in the evening. It turned out that she slept for hours.  Jean stood up as she was hungry.  She then got up from her queen size bedroom and went to the kitchen, looking for anything to prop her starving stomach. It turned out that there were so many types of food available on the dining table starting from appetizers, main dishes to desserts.  Jean's saliva was flowing so profusely to see so much food lined up as if asking, in turn, to be eaten.  Jean sat on one of the benches, wanting to grab a bite to eat. But suddenly, she stopped moving her hands. Jean remembered her father whom she had not seen for several days. She missed him so much. She imagined it if they enjoyed eating together at one table.  Jean looked around at a quiet, lonely room. Not a single person was accompanying her. A big house and good food couldn't replace family togetherness.  Although Jean wasn't with her biological mother since childhood, her father was able to play a dual role as both father and mother for her.  Dominic, who was now present in Jean's life, couldn't change anything about her family. He could provide luxury, but he couldn't offer warmth inside him.  Jean then ate her food, but her appetite was suddenly gone. However, because she didn't want to worry her father, she forced herself to eat as much as possible. **** Two days passed. As usual, Dominic went somewhere without a single information. Jean was neither wondering nor surprised by Dominic's disappearance. She had tried to get him to open up to her, but he didn't say anything, so Jean couldn't do much.  As Dominic said, Jean now lived like a doll that can be played whenever he wanted. However, at least, Dominic didn't treat her any worse.  "Mrs Archer, could you come with me?" One of Dominic's bodyguards approached Jean and told her to follow him.  Jean only raised her eyebrow, confused. "Where are you going?" Jean asked.  "Mr Dominic asked me to take you somewhere." It turned out it was Dominic's order.  "Tsk!! That person always rules around."  Jean's annoyance made the bodyguard, who had been putting on a flat face, suppressed his smile. Maybe he thought that Jean was the first one cursing at Dominic.  "What's wrong?" Jean asked, confused by the bodyguard.  "Sorry." The bodyguard controlled his expression again, afraid if Jean would denounce all to Dominic. If yes, then he was over. Jean then chose to remain silent and followed the bodyguard to one of Dominic's yellow Lamborghini cars.  *** Jean has arrived at a place like a shop that was no longer used by the owner. The car Jean and Dominic's bodyguard rode stopped in front of a very worn and messy shop. Jean stared at the bodyguard in surprise. Why did Dominic take her to a place like this?  Fear crept over Jean. She suspiciously stared at her bodyguard. It was nothing but Jean felt something fishy. Jean then took something from her bag, a pepper spray just in case something happened.  "Mr Dominic is waiting for you." Said the bodyguard opened the door for Jean. She then came down anxiously.  Jean looked around inside the abandoned shop. The fear crept over her again as it was so dark. There was only the light from the sun coming out from between the tiles.  Suddenly, someone's hand tugged at Jean's waist. Jean was ready to spray pepper spray on the person who had pulled her waist, but that person quickly parried and threw it away.  "You can't fight me with that." Said the person.
