Chapter 2

Eduardo Seeing the day dawn is the most wonderful thing in the world. I love going for a run before the sun even comes up. As I run through the park early in the morning, I see people staring at me and they probably think I'm crazy for being so willing so early, but I don't care. I love the energy it gives me to face the day. Today will be a completely different day for me, I am preparing myself psychologically to face a new class of students that I was called to teach. I have a degree in literature and a degree in literature. I love what I do. Teach my students what they should read, recommend a book by a wonderful author such as Mario Quintana, Carlos Drummond de Andrade, among others. It's something that brings me pleasure. I'm going to teach this class how good it is to pick up a book and travel through reading. You enter the story, transform into the character, travel to different places, get to know different cultures. Of course, I don't need to say that I will follow this profession for the rest of my life. I finish my run and see that it's almost time to go to school, I make my way back in a less intense run. Arriving home, I find my little dog, Bolinha, all happy because I arrived. I received it as a gift from my parents when I decided to live alone, of course when I broke the news, my mother didn't like it at all. For her, I had to get under her skirt. I love my mother very much, but, like every mother, she waits on me to see when I'm going to find a woman, she knows, to marry and have children. Of course I want to, but I haven't found the right person yet. I'm also not going to say that I'm a saint, since I'm not and never have been, but I'm not a chicken either. I feed Bolinha and run upstairs to take a shower. I'm different from today's teachers, I really like to wear a good suit and tie, I know there are people who think it's ridiculous that I wear this type of clothing, but considering that I've worked in large universities, I like to be in line. . I take a quick shower and get dressed. I choose a black suit and tie of the same color, already imagining the look on my new students' faces, wrinkling their noses. I spray some of the perfume I always use, Portinari, grab my things and get ready to leave. I'm a tall man, six feet tall, with black hair and some gray hair to appear. I'm thirty-six years old and I'm what's called good-looking, but at the moment, what I want most is peace of mind. I lock the house door and go to the garage, get in the car, start it and head straight to school. As soon as I park at the door of the establishment, I can't say what I'm feeling right now, it seems like a mix of expectation and anxiety... I feel as if my life is going to change drastically. I look at the clock and see that there is still time. I grab my things from the passenger seat and head straight to the principal's office to introduce myself. When I arrive, I see a very pretty girl, by the way, but she's not my type. Well, actually, I don't even know which woman does it. I really need to go out to have fun and meet some women. - Good morning! I'm the new literature teacher! — I introduce myself to the secretary. She stands up and is a beautiful brunette, with a sculptural body. She evaluates me and gives me a big naughty smile, as if she were saying “come here, hottie, I’ll get you”. If it were in another time, I would accept it, but currently, I don't want that for myself anymore. — -Good morning, you must be Professor Santana —. - the secretary speaks in that velvety tone, showing that she has a crush on me. - Yes I confirm. And she comes to me, swaying sensually and says: — Wait a moment, and I'll let the director know that you're waiting for her. — He walks past me, his body almost touching mine. She goes next door and knocks. - Thanks. –I thank her before she enters. I evaluate the beautiful woman and if it were in another time, I would turn on my charm and she would certainly be in the conversation. While I wait for her to announce me, I think about how wonderful it would be to find a woman for myself, I would worship this woman's body and soul and write beautiful poems to declare my love for her. — Teacher, teacher. — I hear a voice calling me, I was so far from here that I was surprised to see that I was being called. — Sorry, I was a little far away. — No problem, Mrs. Adeline will welcome you, come this way — she says and I thank her. I enter a very simple room and find Mrs. Adeline, a lady with that kind grandmother's face. I go up to her and introduce myself: — Good morning, Madam Director. I'm Eduardo Santana, the new literature professor. — I greet, shaking her hand lightly. - Good morning teacher. Welcome to our school Maria Trujillo Torloni. — I appreciate the invitation, director. It really is a pleasure, I'm surprised to be welcomed at a school and treated with great care. I don't think I've ever been treated so well, even though he had already worked in renowned schools and universities, but in these places, people barely looked at his face and were always talking about buying cars, going out to clubs, clothes, jewelry, etc. — Well, professor, I'm going to introduce your new class. You will teach them for the entire school year — Mrs. Adeline says. — Thank you, director. I look forward to meeting the new students. They are calm or... how should I say... — Messy? Well, professor, they are a middle ground, like any teenager — she adds, getting up so I can follow her. We leave the room and go down a corridor where several students are walking on their way to their respective classrooms. Wherever we go, students look at us curiously. Some girls look at me and do that typical scene of waving their hands as if to say they're hot. I want to laugh, these girls still have a lot to learn. The students greet the principal, who knows most of them by name. Anyway, we stopped in a room. I notice that the room is not complete, a sign that some students are yet to arrive. We enter and everyone stops talking when they see us, they look at us curiously. — -Good morning, students — the director says. I hear a shy good morning from them, and I see how curious they are. — This is your new literature teacher, I want you to treat him well and wish him a good day. — Good morning, professor — they say in chorus. — Good morning, dear students. - Greeting. — Well, professor, I'll leave you to the students. Excuse me, students. — Thank you again, Director Adeline. — I appreciate it, professor — she replies and leaves the room. I turn to the students again. seeing that everyone is waiting to see what I'm going to say. — Well, students, my name is Professor Eduardo Santana. I will stay with you while the other teacher is away. I would like everyone to sit down and introduce themselves — I ask and I see them start to move. Each one going to their own wallet. The students start to introduce themselves and I look at them and tidy up my table at the same time. Suddenly a student enters carrying a small bottle, which I imagine is water, she hurries to look for her seat. Students continue to speak when another student enters the room. My gaze shifts to the door and I see an angel with red hair, tied into a messy bun. And the desire that captures me is to go to her and let go of her hair, which must be long and beautiful. Her gaze doesn't deviate from mine, and mine supports hers. Her face is full of little freckles, which I would like to count just to feel it close to mine. His mouth is an invitation to be kissed. And those eyes? My God, your eyes are green like the waters of a crystal clear river. Her body shows that she is no longer a girl, but a woman, with whom I am completely enchanted. I know I should feel ashamed of the feeling that has just settled in my heart. But I fell in love with the little green-eyed sorceress.
