The Zodiac Trails

Chapter 2

My heart feels so heavy and about to leap out of my chest. I'm struggling to breathe again like last night. I'm screaming on the inside. I'm calm and collected on the outside. We are outside with our suitcases and ready to get on the bus. They said it was going to take us all day to get there so everyone has their pillows and blankets out. I have my charger box all charged up and my earbuds ready for this trip. My phone is all charged up too. As Capricorns, we come extra prepared. As we get on the bus I feel everyone's emotions. Excitement and worry, as everyone should. I sit next to a window with Melanie by my side. I listen to the playlist I made for this trip. We start the road trip.

It's already night time once we arrive at this very large white mansion. There are so many lights and it's bright. It looks so beautiful on the outside and there's a lot of land in the background. I wonder how far it stretches and what's behind the woods in the back. There are also some cars parked in front of the mansion. I squint at the cars. What are cars doing here? I have never seen cars back at the Capricorn Palace.

"Uh, how the f**k is there cars but we came on a bus." Melanie shakes her head. She said what exactly was on my mind.

"It's because the males were taught how to drive, but only a few zodiacs are allowed to have cars. If the zodiac has low funding they will let some of thei male zodiac work for the school." Our mentor tells us.

"That's weird. Why not the females too? We are just as independent as they are." Amelia says offended.

"Well Amelia, Capricorns don't have to work for our boarding school.The Capricorn Goddess and Gods have funded the schools for us for years. Some Zodiacs fall on tough times, but there are also special cases where Zodiacs can go out and work for fun. The Capricorns wanted you guys to stay focused on tasks." Our mentor praises the Capricorns.

As we pulled up we got out of the bus and we went to grab out stuff but our mentor stopped us and got these other people to carry them up to our rooms.

"These guys, they are servants of the gods and goddesses. Please go look around. Just know that you are on the 6th floor with the Sagittarius and you have to share showers sadly. Also, the ball starts at Midnight when the stars are looking down at us. Your room will have your name on it. Enjoy your stay at The Trails Mansions." The male host says very excitedly.

We all walk upstairs and once I get to the 6th floor I stray off getting lost. I see a doorway and it's got an arrow with a line cross through it. I've never seen it before...Our Mentor technically said we could adventure around. I'm just a nosy little goat girl. I walk in then I see a bunch of half-naked Guys. I cover my eyes and cringe and blush. I am so embarrassed at this moment.

"Woah! Did you get lost?" I hear a deep voice and I feel hands on my shoulders and I blush harder. "Hey guys, I'm going to show her where the Capricorn side is." He starts guiding me out of the room.

"Okay, it's 10 so be at your room at 11:30 for your tux." I heard another deep voice say.

"I will Fletcher. It's not like I'm going far." The guy with my hands replied softly.

As soon as we get out, I pull away from him and look at him. Big mistake. He was so tall. I'm 5 '3 this guy is scaling over me at 6' 3. He has short black hair, His eyes are indigo. He has a brow piercing and a brow slit. I start to look down at his body and realize he's only wearing a towel. He has tattoos all over both his arms of ancient Asian artwork and it looks like the symbol for Sagittarius. His skin is really pale.

"I'm guessing you guys are Sagittarius?" I asked, feeling stupid I said that question out loud. Did you not pay attention to what the host said? "How did you even know I was a Capricorn?"

"The...the back of your knee has a symbol. Now that I'm actually looking at your face and eyes you are definitely a Capricorn." He says, looking at me with surprise. Why the f**k is he surprised? I can't deny he's gorgeous though. I trace my eyes down his body and blush. The temptation is wrong. You're on a mission. This isn't for fun. "You know I can...see you checking me out, right? Like what you see?"

"WHA-what I don't know what you're talking about! That is so weird to think about." I feel my heart race faster. My face is overheating. He chuckles. I noticed he has a tongue piercing. My heart is leaping. What are these feelings? I don't like them. I hate them so much.

"Okay, come on little goat. I can't keep the Gods and Goddesses waiting. Especially for the pairing ceremony. Hey maybe… by fate, we could see each other every once in a while. I mean we are next to each other. What's your name so we can find your room?"

"Don't call me a little goat. I don't need your help and I don't want your help."

"Are you sure? I got lost. Besides, it's always good to travel with someone. You just got to the mansion. I don't think you'll already know where you are."

"I said I don't want your help. Stop insisting that I need it." I start to turn right then he spins me around and pushes me left.

"Clearly, you need my help. It's fine to ask for help, stubborn. What is your name?" He asks very stubbornly and annoyed.

"Lilith. I can walk on my own." I start to walk beside him. He smells so wonderful. I just want to bathe in his scent. GAH! These thoughts are so weird. It's probably because it's my first encounter with a guy. We arrive at a room that has my name on it and I look at him. "See, I found it on my own. It's not like I can't read."

"All I'm hearing is thank you in stubborn talk. See you at the ceremony. If you even can." He walks away disappearing. I forgot to ask his name.

I walk into my room feeling defeated. I take a shower with the rest of the Capricorn girls.

"Hey Lilth, where did you go?" Melanie asked curiously.

"I went straight to my room. I will admit I did get a little bit lost." I laugh a little remembering the whole sagittarius encounter.

"Weird, Oh! Did you hear we're going to wear dresses? The colors are supposed to match with our eyes and each dress is a different style. We will get paired at the beginning at the ball so if we want to go straight to sleep we could." She looks at me very excited. I smile at her.

I wish I would let her back in like I used to. God I remember when we used to play hide and seek and steal snacks from the kitchen. We made flower crowns with our birth flowers Carnations during recess. I wish times were that simple. We had the whole weight of the world put on our shoulders as kids but we toughed it through and we always studied together to make sure we would be prepared. She would always end up sleeping or get distracted by her phone. She was one of the weird Capricorns, but she never cracked under pressure. She has a true Capricorn at heart.

"There you go again getting lost in thought. We better go get ready." I leave in a towel and I see the Sagittariuss leaving. The Sags girls are in these indigo dresses with diamond encrusted high heels. The Sags guys are in tuxes with indigo ties. They all have black hair and indigo eyes. It's so weird. I see the guy I saw earlier. He's the center of attention with the other guys. Showing off how he can do pull ups on a door frame. Hot but such a teenager. I stuff my feelings back down and I walk back to my room.
