Nicki leaned over bracing herself on her cane as she reached into the hot oven removing the hot cookie tray. She placed it on the cooling rack counter and tossed the oven mitt on the counter. She shut the oven and then inspected the finished cookies. She picked up one from the tray. It was hot, but that’s how she liked them. She took a bite and was very pleased with how soft and gooey it was the chocolate chips perfectly melted. While the cookies cooled she hobbled over to the island where she picked up the bowl of clams and mussels she had bought earlier that day. She then limped back to the two large pots on the stove top and dumped them in to steam them open while boiling some spinach pasta in the other pot.
