"Edwina?" The unmistakable authoritative voice of Ms Merrigold reached to Edwina's hearing and she instantly shook her glance to meet the principal's piercing gaze. The ever-pretty 'lord of Cromsvelth' had her deep green eyebrow furrowed inward in a deep frown which didn't sit quite well on her beautiful and well-proportioned face.
Edwina just stood there in an awkward stance until Ms Merrigold spoke to her with her eyes to take a seat on the other chair upfront, which was oddly quite far away from its usual position. Nonetheless, Edwina hurried to take a sit whilst hiding her face away from the 'elephant' in the room.
Of course, she was most perturbed as to his appearance in Cromsvelth. What was he doing here of all places? She subconsciously glanced at him whilst sitting and she couldn't help but fidget at the haughty gaze he pierced at her. Edwina quickly looked away only to meet Ms. Merrigold's condescending gaze which she understood to mean "You're in deep trouble".
Ms. Merrigold continued to stare at Edwina's figure, obviously using some sort of identifying magic spell since her iris glowed violet. She was quite shocked at the new appearance of Edwina and her reaction was without a doubt, justified, as there is a likelihood of it being an act of an impostor. Cromsvelth had many enemy's trying to attack the students on constant course as most of the students are of relevant background. Nonetheless, She managed to conceal her surprise quite excellently. After having glanced at the arrogant brat when Edwina came into her office, and when she saw no sign of surprise on his face, it became obvious that he didn't know of her previous 'condition' before the current.
"Now Edwina, if you wouldn't mind explaining whom this is? He comes into my academy and starts making trouble in the name of being your mate! Speak now!?" Ms. Merrigold sternly demanded, blatantly pointing at Gregory.
"W-well, Ma'am. H-he might be right as--"
"So it is indeed you." Edwina was cut off by Gregory's word of confirmation. The latter had been carefully observing the young fair beautiful lady that came into the room for a while now and had patiently watched the 'rude' madam on the other end of the table interact with the lady. He wasn't as stupid as to easily believe that this was Edwina just like that, though they looked very much alike, he still had his doubts. Ms Merrigold was a witch after all, an expert one at that. And a simple imitation spell to deceive him wouldn't be too hard for her to pull off.
However, a Werewolf's natural scent could never be misleading, not when they've both recognized each other's scents. He looked her up and down and although her beauty surpassed his imagination, he was still furious at her.
"Is this...?" He rose from his seat and opened his arms wide, pointing at the academy generally. Edwina who had at this point raised her gaze in caution as he stood abruptly stared with confusion evident in her expression. "...This is all you have been so busy doing that you didn't deem it fit to visit me, your husband?" He accused, as though Edwina had been cheating on him.
Rather than the blatant accusation, Edwina on the receiving end, felt more concerned that he had a lot of nerve claiming he was her husband. They both didn't know each other that much. The only thing they had in common was the arranged marriage since their childhood. Childhood!!! Didn't he grow past it since then?
She glanced towards Ms. Merrigold for help, but the principal also seemed to be staring at her with a gaze that spoke of accusation.
" I'm certain it never even crossed your mind for once that I exist?" Gregory asked with a smile that wasn't what a smile should mean.
Edwina didn't know what to say nor how to react to the matter at hand so she took help from the most natural existence, silence. She figured he was mad and furious at her, but she still didn't quite understand why he was nor why he should be. However, she was smart enough to not add to the fuel.
" Well then, I accept your silence as a humble apology. Besides, I'm pleased with what I see. You're... lucky you are my wife." He moved towards her and reached to pat Edwina's head gently. Setting sight on her gracious self, his anger that had built up for several years seemed to calm.
'What is wrong with this guy! Must be bipolar!' Edwina thought. It was even strange hearing a teen probably in his early twenties speaking the way Gregory did.
" I'd like to thank Ms... Merry for your help in reuniting us. In return, I accept your apology from earlier. Let us call it even." He turned to say to the principal.
"Now then, if we have no more reasons to talk. We'll be leaving" Gregory finished with a satisfied smile and turned to leave the room. He walked with his chin raised high and his back straightened. He'd just done the most righteous thing he could have done as an Alpha wolfblood after all. He had claimed his 'wife' like he was supposed to. Right in the face of those who called him a 'weak' Alpha. Bam!
Ms Merrigold and Edwina peered at each other and just watched as Gregory walked away in utter confusion, disbelief and uncertainty. He seemed either crazy, stupid or just delusional. In any way, he most definitely was not in a right state of mind.
"Ms. Merrigold. He- he and I know each other as arranged mate. But that was since our childhood. He must still have the thought that I'm supposed to be his wife any how." Edwina turned to face Ms. Merrigold and informed the principal of her predicament. She was the only person Edwina thought she owed an explanation to.
"Hmm, I figured that's the case..." Ms. Merrigold creased her eyes and touched her chin with a finger. "... However, this is a matter between your parents and his. I wonder why your parents never informed me of this." She stated respectably and finished in a complaint to nobody around in particular whilst tapping a finger on the table.
Edwina understood Ms. Merrigold's character so she kept silent and only awaited for more questions from her, if any.
" Well, they must not have thought too much that any of this could come to happening, considering your 'previous' condition " Ms. Merrigold stated the obvious.
" Speaking of conditions, when did this prima change occur?" Ms Merrigold looked Edwina up and down, pointing at her appearance with a raised brow in obvious skepticism.
" J-just this morning, ma'am. I wolfed out last night." Edwina found it quite embarrassing to say even though it was the happiest moment of her life. It was a sensitive matter for her after all, but she knew it couldn't stay hidden forever. Everyone knew of her condition and it was very easy to add one to two in figuring out what had caused her sudden change for most people. Others might think she was using some appearance altering magic, for all she cared.
" Hmm, I see." Ms. Merrigold nodded and reclined on her seat with her chin placed in her palm.
'Cold and indifferent as always' Edwina couldn't believe she wouldn't smile even in the knowledge of the happiest moment of her life. Ms Merrigold was indeed 'the witch of the north pole' that she was dubbed by all in Cromsvelth.
" Well then, you may return to your activities for the day. I'll talk to your parents about it. Also, you don't mind that I break the news to them, do you?"
" No, I don't. I planned to do the same anyway" Edwina answered with a small amused smile. The thought of her parents' surprise and shock was painted in a vivid image in her mind.
" Very well, you may--"
" Edwina! I did remember saying we're leaving earlier?" Gregory's stern tone suddenly resounded through the room.
Edwina jolted hearing her name suddenly being 'called' out loud in such mannerism. For a moment, she'd forgotten he was still in the office.
Ms Merrigold was surprised that Gregory really meant what he said earlier. She had thought he was joking about it all. Why would anyone leave with him at whims just because he said so? Whatever is wrong with him is no joke.
" What!?" Edwina couldn't help but let out in disbelief and absolute confusion.
Gregory ground his teeth in seething anger seeing how Edwina reacted with almost no response to his demand. He moved from where he stood by the door towards Edwina and reached to grab her by her wrist. He leaned over and said slowly. " You will follow me and we shall make our bond official! Your time here, with all of this, is done!"
"Ow! Grrr!" Edwina growled in pain and her wolf grew rebellious and mad at his forceful nature. However, for some reason, she found herself hesitating to contradict his decree. It was as though his words had some effect that she couldn't resist.
"Thats enough!" Ms. Merrigold declared with a stamp of her palm on the desk. Following her words, green trail of energy slithered through the air like snakes and encircled Gregory's figure.
Gregory found himself unable to move any inch further from where he was and his grasp on Edwina's wrist slowly loosened. The alpha teen werewolf looked down at the strange green swirl of energy that covered his being with incredulity evident in his expression. He switched his gaze towards Ms Merrigold who was the obvious cause of all that was happening to him.
"You dare!?"
Ms Merrigold couldn't help but shake his head at the arrogant brat and help but wonder just where and in what circumstance Gregory was brought up in. He was so brawny that he didn't even know when anyone else is superior to him and when his life was in danger.
" Leave now Edwina. I'll take care of this one" Ms Merrigold waved her hand and reached for a strange brass box on her desk that had an analogue reading interface of strange patterned figures engraved on it, as well as several large winding knobs like that of a watch on its sides.
Edwina nodded and left the office in a hurry. She knew quite well that Ms Merrigold could pretty much handle the situation.
" Edwina!" Gregory could only yell after her as she left the office. Surprisingly, Edwina paused for a while feeling her wolf side hesitating to leave but she quickly gained control and ran out of the office.
" Grrr!!" Gregory growled in fury and glared at Ms. Merrigold in fuming anger. The latter only rolled her eyes and continued to dial the phone box that now glowed a luminescent bright green-purple in its analogue interface.
