Chapter Seventeen

Kurt began to move around the mine, running his hands along the walls until he found an oil lantern that was hung from a nail driven into the wooden support.  Pulling it off, he tipped it slightly, grinning as he held it up to the others in triumph, ‘still got some oil in it Alpha’ he called out, bringing it back to the group. Placing it between them, Kurt delved into his rucksack, pulling out a small pack of matches and striking one, lifting the glass cover and holding it too the wick until it caught. Waving his hand, Kurt extinguished the match as he lowered the glass back down with his other hand, the lamp lighting up the area, throwing a warm glow over the walls around them. Shivering, they huddled around the flame, Archer pulling out some food and water, handing it around the group
