Alison POV
When the car disappeared from my sight, I was simply static and speechless.
I managed to move but only glued my back to the ground, while thousands of tears came out of my eyes and I tried to move even more to try to reach the cliff, but it was no use, he was no more.
This was the end, my end, good riddance to Alison Lawrence.
My head hurt, I was bleeding from almost all over my body, but I still felt that the pain was little compared to the death of my brother, nothing could be assimilated to him.
All physical pain was little compared to the pain in the soul, the pain caused by loss and death.
So, even though I knew it was the end, I kept my eyes open and looked up at the starry sky that the trees gave me a glimpse of. The full moon, the stars shining brighter than ever, and a dark sky, far from any city bustle.
Quiet.
"Jake..." I mused and closed my eyes at last.
So I couldn't ask for more before I died, everything was perfect and special, just what someone could wish for before dying. But as always, life is complicated and a damned one, so it didn't want to give me that beautiful ending; so it sent me a slower, more painful, and even more special destruction.
And so Eiden Hale came into my life.
My destruction.
"Oh no..." I heard a murmur.
"Is she dead?”
"No, she's still alive.”
"It's amazing her strength" He said: "Is she human?”
"Well of course she is, she's not recovering, it's obvious she is.”
"Eiden will be furious when he finds out what happened, he's going to...”
The man's voice stopped as soon as the sound of some branches breaking could be heard.
My eyes couldn't open anymore, the pain and tiredness were stronger than me, and I could even swear that the only thing alive in me was my ears because I could hear perfectly every sound.
Even his voice.
"What the hell happened?” A male and strong voice asked.
"Eiden, what happened is that I..... Well...”
"We were chasing the hunters when a car drove through and we hit it.”
"And the car?”
"It went over the edge.”
"Damn it, Bastian! I told you to chase the hunters, not to knock over a car.”
"Eiden" Another voice said.
Hearing that last voice I managed to open my eyes in disbelief that I was able to do so, and so I managed to see even a little bit of the four men around me. Everything was a blur to me.
"What's wrong Tyler?”
"The girl...”
"What...?”
He gave me a puzzled look, but still walked over to me and spoke to me with a tone of concern.
"Are you okay?” One of those mysterious mans asked me.
Maybe it was from the shock, but I thought I saw a flash of red in his dark eyes that caused me some curiosity and fear at the same time.
"Who are you?" I murmured
"Do you know who you are?" He asked and touched my cheek with one of his fingers.
"Jake...” I begged, trying to get some help for my brother.
"What?”
"She's been repeating that name ever since she got out of the car, it seems like the man in the car was her partner and...”
The boy in front of me looked at them angrily, but as he turned his gaze back to me, his gesture became calmer and he spoke for the last time looking at me.
"Take her to the herd.” He ordered.
"But Eiden...”
"That's an order Jonas" He spat out.
"I disagree brother. She's a human, for our rules, she must die, because she saw us…”
"I'd consider it, but you're the least likely to speak, Bastian. Because of you, we'll have to take care of her until she recovers.”
"But...”
"That's enough!" He shouted.
His shout made my head start to ache and I immediately groaned from the pain.
"See what you're provoking, you stupid people?” The man complained.
"Sorry..." They mumbled at the same time.
"Do as I say, and not a word to anyone, especially Clark, he'll get me in trouble if he tells anyone what we're doing.”
"Yes.” They all accepted.
"No..." I murmured.
"They won't hurt you" He said seriously
"Jake...” I begged again.
His gaze turned so dark, that it made my throat go dry and I didn't utter another word.
"Take her away now.”
Two of them took me in their arms as he spoke again: "Hide her at the ceremonial center, Tyler and I will follow the beast to try and find her before she goes back into hiding.”
"It's got a two-kilometer head start on us.”
"And it'll be three if you keep complaining, Tyler.”
"I'm sorry.”
"Move along" He said again.
He looked at me again with some annoyance and I wanted to run away from that look, it was not gratifying to see him and less if it was someone like him.
So the best thing I did was to close my eyes out of fear and with the hope of not opening them again.

"I told you to hide it, Bastian.”
"What did you want me to do? I panicked and it occurred to me to bring her here.”
"What's so hidden about my house?" Another voice said.
"Well, it's the perfect place to hide her so no one will know about it.”
"Fine, but make sure no one comes in.”
"I'll stay outside for anything.”
"Yes.”
I heard the sound of a door closing and opened my eyes to meet a darker pair.
"Good, you're awake.”
The boy in front of me had the darkest hair and eyes I had ever seen before; he looked young, but I felt from his eyes that he was not. He was definitely attractive, but that didn't fool me, so I looked at him with bewilderment and utter distrust.
I tried to settle on the bed, but only succeeded in making my body ache and a sharp pain shot through my entire body.
"Don't do it, you'll only hurt yourself" He denied and sat on the bed.
"Where am I?” I asked.
"That's an excellent question, but I'm afraid I can't answer you until you answer me first."
"Who are you?” I asked again.
"My name is Eiden" He told me: "What's your name?”
"Alison.” I responded hesitating.
"So Alison, what's the last thing you remember about last night?”
"What?”
I tried to say something else, but the memory of Jake and the accident left me stunned and frozen even in the immense heat in the room.
"Jake...” I whispered, while my eyes filled with tears.
