Chapter 6 Chris' Fury

1074 Words
Chris couldn't believe it. He let out a chuckle. "Who would dare to do that?" "It's true! Someone drugged Katherine, and the test results are in." Owen was extremely worried. This was a huge deal, and he knew the boss would be furious. Then there was a cracking sound. Chris got serious, crushing his glass. He glared sharply at Owen. "What did you say?" Though Chris didn't care much for Katherine, anyone who dared to mess with her at their wedding would not be easily forgiven. After all, it was also about family honor. Owen, trembling, handed over the phone. "You should take Katherine's call." "Chris..." Katherine's delicate sobs came through the line. "I'm sorry, my sister drugged me, and I passed out." "Sister?" Chris was genuinely surprised. Katherine had never mentioned this sister before. "I never told you, but I have a half-sister named Eileen, born to my dad's mistress. She just returned from abroad. She's obsessed with you and begged me to give you up. Of course, I refused! I never thought she'd drug me with a sedative, knock me out, and marry you instead!" On the other end of the call, Katherine's face was twisted with malice. She knew Chris would detest Eileen after hearing this! Sure enough, Chris showed a look of contempt. He felt sorry for Katherine having such a despicable sister. "Where are you now?" "I just woke up at my mom's place. My evil sister is at Beverly Hills now. What should I do?" "I don't know." Chris's voice was icy and devoid of warmth. He hated these kinds of troubles the most. "Chris, don't be mad. My sister is still young. She didn't realize that what she did was challenging your dignity and deeply humiliating the Kenny family. She thought it was just a game. Hello? Hello—" Katherine laughed triumphantly after Chris hung up abruptly. "Is the car ready? I need to rescue my sister." "Yes, Ms. Jones." The maid helped Katherine into the car. "You are so kind-hearted. Why bother rescuing such trash?" Katherine didn't respond, touching the wedding ring on her finger, her eyes filled with malice. Of course, she was going to enjoy watching Eileen's flustered look and how Chris tortured her to death! Meanwhile, in the luxurious master bedroom at Beverly Hills, Eileen opened her eyes with a headache, feeling weak all over, even struggling to breathe. "Ugh, where am I... What happened?" Looking around, she realized this place looked like something she had only seen on TV. "Ah!" Eileen's thoughts were muddled as she struggled to recall what happened before she passed out... She had drunk a drink her father gave her, and then she lost consciousness! Eileen snapped awake. She had rushed home that morning, finding her father in no real trouble. So, she was relieved, wanting to leave as soon as possible. But Jonathan insisted on offering her something to drink and mentioned Katherine was getting married today, asking if she had a boyfriend. She naively thought Jonathan really cared about her, never expecting him to drug her! Thinking about it now, I believe that it must have been Katherine who made her father do this! Eileen regretted her carelessness! She should never have reconnected with her biological family! But why did Katherine have her drugged and sent here? Eileen was so panicked that she broke out in a cold sweat, wanting to escape quickly but too weak to get out of bed. At this moment, loud footsteps approached from outside, getting closer and closer. Someone was coming! Eileen's heart stopped in fear, and she felt paralyzed, unable to move. With a loud bang, the door was kicked open, and cold air rushed in. Chris stormed in, and his expression was fierce. His jaw muscles tightened as he glared menacingly at the woman on the bed, as if trying to see her filthy soul through her ugly face. Outside the door, Owen and the bodyguard Daniel stood in a defensive stance, aiming their guns at Eileen, ready to shoot if she made any move. The strapping man approached her, making her try to hide. "What are you still pretending for?" Chris sneered mockingly at the terrified woman, reaching out to grab her. "Ah!" Eileen screamed, dodging his hand, and quickly crawled under the bed, curling up in the furthest corner, trembling. Shit! What was going on? Chris didn't expect this move and clenched his fist. Why was this despicable woman afraid after doing such shameless things? Outside the door, Owen and Daniel exchanged puzzled looks. If she had drugged Katherine and wanted to marry the boss, shouldn't she be trying to seduce him by now? Chris slammed his fist onto the bed, his tone menacing. "Get out here! You better give me an explanation!" "Go away, go away... I'm hideous and don't have a perfect body. You're not doing anything to me!" Eileen's voice trembled as she shouted incoherently. She had no idea who this angry man was or what he intended to do. Hearing Eileen's shouts, Chris frowned. How weird. She sounded like a lunatic. Was she trying to fool him by pretending to be crazy? Chris hated being fooled and had no patience left for more questions. The muscles bulged on his arms as he lifted the massive bed in one swift motion. "Ah—" Eileen was exposed, losing her sense of security. She scrambled out on all fours, trying to escape. But her calf was quickly pinned down. Before she could cry out in pain, she was lifted off the ground. Chris looked at Eileen as if she were a disgusting pest from the sewer. "You devil! Let me go!" Eileen looked up, her once beautiful face now smeared by paints, making her look like a revolting clown. How could she have the nerve to order him around? Her shamelessness was astounding! Chris carried Eileen out of the bedroom like a ragdoll, heading straight to the backyard. "Ow, it hurts... Bastard, let me go!" Eileen struggled, but her movements were futile against Chris' strength. She could only sigh in despair, "Katherine, why did you set me up?" With a splash, Eileen was thrown into the large pond. Chris roared, "You drugged Katherine and blamed her for setting you up? Just cool yourself off! Once you come to your senses, we'll talk!" But Eileen couldn't swim. She flailed her limbs and muffled, "Help, help.."
