Jaden “Everybody good?” I asked as I parked the van at the entrance of the drive-in. “Good,” came Will’s response. “Yup,” Mike exclaimed. “All good,” Carrie and Sammy replied, and I nodded. “Enjoy,” I said as I watched them climb out of the car. The drive-in was almost packed, which was a good thing. The movie that was set up for the afternoon was a comedy and I didn’t have to worry about them entertaining themselves as they met up with their friends. I drove off toward Molly’s place and I took the time to center myself. Molly’s absence in our lives had been like a smack in our faces and the silence from her side was unsettling.
