12 Who Bullied You

1076 Words
Sophia stood up slowly, adopting a soft demeanor, and came over affectionately to hold Emily's hand. "Emily, don't be angry. Carol is just worried about me. You know, I'm carrying the heir of the Reed family in my belly." Why don't you go compete for an Oscar? Emily felt thoroughly disgusted by Sophia. Carol, upon hearing Sophia's words, became even more infuriated. She pulled Sophia protectively behind her and pointed at Emily's nose. "I just can't stand her! She married into the Reed family on the pretext of old Mr. Reed's will, and for four years, she couldn't even bear a child. Is she trying to ruin the Reed family with her barrenness?!" "Carol, calm down. It's not Emily's fault she can't conceive. She didn't do it on purpose..." "My dear Sophia, why are you so kind-hearted? Even though Emily bullies you like this, you still speak up for her? Let me tell you, there are such despicable people in this world. You're good to them, and in the end, they'll turn around and bite you! You foolish child..." Emily looked at Carol and Sophia coldly, feeling nauseated. "Alright, whatever issues you two have, it's none of my business," Emily interrupted them. "I've signed the divorce agreement. We have no more ties." Carol wanted to say more but was stopped by Sophia. She chuckled and said, "Emily, Nathan isn't home today. The divorce agreement is in the bedroom upstairs. Come with me." She had lived in this house for four years. Every corner, every tile, she knew them all. The bedroom, once hers, was now being led by Sophia. "Here it is, take a look. If you have no objections, just sign it." Sophia handed her a stack of documents. Emily glanced over it briefly. There weren't many clauses in this document, but it clearly stated that the Reed family's property had nothing to do with her. That was fine. She had never intended to take money from the Reed family anyway. "Where's the pen?" Sophia sat on the edge of the bed and pointed to the desk nearby. "Over there." Emily glanced at her, knowing she was deliberately making things difficult, but she didn't want to drag it out any longer. She walked straight to the desk. The pen was placed right in the center of the desk, with a big red wedding invitation underneath. She lowered her gaze, picked up the pen, and signed her name. "Done, satisfied?" Sophia smiled brightly and looked over her signature. "Satisfied, of course I am. It's best if you can come to terms with it. Nathan said your inability to conceive is deceitful. He originally wanted you to compensate with a million in damages. It was me who spoke up for you in front of him, that's why he relented. Anyway, we're still relatives. I couldn't bear to see you homeless and burdened with debts." Emily said, "So you think I should thank you?" "I've saved you a million in debt. Shouldn't you be grateful?" Emily sneered, "If he wants money, tell Nathan to come ask me himself." Every minute spent in this bedroom felt suffocating to her. Emily didn't want to stay any longer. She turned around and left. "Wait—" Sophia stopped her, "I forgot to tell you, Nathan and I are getting married next month." Emily ignored her, "That's none of my concern." "You're my relative, so it does concern you," Sophia deliberately placed a hand on her belly and walked up to her, "Emily, I remember you used to be a makeup artist before you got married, right? Why don't you do my makeup?" Emily chuckled, "Aren't you afraid I'll poison you directly?" "You wouldn't dare. I'm the darling of the Reed family now. If you dared to poison me, Nathan would be the first to have you executed. And then how would you take care of William, lying in the hospital, dying from hunger?" Emily was shocked and furious, "Are you even human? My dad is your uncle!" "So what? You poor relatives should hurry up and die, so that when I become Mrs. Reed, you won't embarrass me anymore." With a loud slap, Emily slapped her. "Sophia, listen carefully. My dad and I have nothing to do with you from now on. You just live your high society life and don't bother us anymore!" As she walked out of the Reed mansion, Emily still felt her chest pounding. Carol's words were indeed true. There are such despicable people in this world. You extend kindness to them, and they turn around and bite you. Her slap just now wasn't light, and her hand still tingled. Carol, seeing Sophia's swollen face, was furious. She chased after Emily, intending to slap her, "How dare you hit her? Are you out of your mind?" Emily grabbed her hand about to strike and angrily pushed it aside, gritting her teeth, "If it weren't for my dad, it wouldn't have been just a slap." "Emily, how dare you..." Behind her, Carol continued to curse her with all sorts of venomous words, calling her a jinx, a worthless woman who couldn't bear children. Emily sneered. She had learned something new today. Only Carol could come up with so many creative insults. By the time she returned to the Hilton Hotel, it was getting dark. Mr. Satan didn't like light, so she turned off all the lights, leaving only a dim lamp in the kitchen. The table was set with dishes Emily had prepared, with two sets of cutlery placed on either side, separated by several dishes. The smell of food filled the air. Ding— The door opened with a room card. Emily turned off the small lamp in the kitchen and went out to greet, "You're back... I wasn't sure about your taste, so I made some home-cooked dishes. Take a look, if it's not to your liking, I can remake them now..." A strong force pulled her into a broad and warm embrace. Mr. Satan's voice came from above, gentle and tender, "Have you been bullied?" She sniffed and smiled, "No one." "You little liar, you've obviously been crying, I can hear it in your voice," Mr. Satan pulled her to sit on the edge of the bed. Emily struggled, "Let's eat first, it'll get cold." "No rush," Satan pulled her to sit on his lap, gently lifting her chin, "First, tell me, who bullied you?"
