There was always an aura around Mr. Satan that made her willingly submit.
Emily felt like a kite right now, and Mr. Satan was the one holding the strings. He didn't restrict her flight; he just held onto the string, gently guiding her back when she veered off course, letting her soar freely.
The nights spent with him were wild and intoxicating, something she had never experienced in her four years of marriage with Reed.
But the atmosphere at the Reed family villa now was different.
In the morning, Nathan had to go to the office. Sophia helped him fix his tie, cuddling in his arms, "Can't you skip work? We finally live together, can't you stay home with me?"
A woman's coquetry was hard for any man to resist.
Nathan embraced her, "I'm going to the office for important matters, not to see other women. What are you worried about?"
Sophia's expression changed slightly.
How could she not worry?
After all, hadn't she successfully seduced Nathan herself? At work, she used her job as an excuse to repeatedly interact with him, subtly showing a bit of affection each time. Although her looks weren't as stunning as Emily's, she succeeded because she took the initiative. Slowly, with a touch here, a wrong word there, she planted the seed of ambiguity in his heart, waiting for it to grow, and everything fell into place.
The child in her belly was her weapon in marrying into the Reed family.
"Nathan, are you really going to listen to Emily and not tell her father about us?" She pouted, feeling a bit unhappy.
Nathan's smile faded a bit, releasing her waist and adjusting his cuffs in the mirror, "She's right. Her father just had surgery, what if he gets upset and falls ill?"
"But you and Emily will divorce sooner or later. It's her fault she can't have children. Even if her father knows, he'll think she's wronged you."
Hearing Sophia's words, Nathan was somewhat surprised, "Sophia, that's your uncle. If something happens to him because of shock, won't you care at all?"
Sophia knew she had overreacted a bit; she was a little impatient. And Nathan's willingness to listen to Emily's words made her feel frustrated.
She explained with a smile, "Of course, I'm worried. I just love you too much and want to marry you."
Nathan hugged her and kissed her, "Don't worry, I'll divorce as soon as possible."
"Okay, I believe you."
Watching Nathan leave, Sophia returned to the bedroom and smashed a few cups in frustration.
Nathan's attitude was somewhat unexpected.
She thought Nathan didn't care about Emily at all, but yesterday he actually said he would give her a million dollars as compensation and agreed not to tell William about them?
She had a bad feeling.
Out of the corner of her eye, Nathan's phone was still on the bedside table; he must have forgotten to take it with him when he left.
Sophia picked up the phone, wanting to chase after him, but after taking a few steps, she retreated. Nathan's attitude was so indecisive; she had to do something.
With that in mind, she used Nathan's phone to call Emily.
Emily had been making love to Mr. Satan every night until late, yet surprisingly, her sleep was unexpectedly sound.
However, her long-established habit of waking up early still had her up around eight o'clock.
Drawing back the curtains, the rising sun flooded the room with warmth, lifting her mood.
There was an unread message on her phone from Satan.
[Could you cook dinner for me tonight?]
The room had its own kitchen, which surprised Emily. She glanced over and found it fully equipped with stoves, pots, and a refrigerator stocked with various ingredients, everything one might need.
She wasn't sure if Mr. Satan was busy at the moment or if it was convenient for him to answer the phone, so she decided to text back: [What would you like to eat?]
Beep beep—
Almost as soon as she sent it, a reply came from Mr. Satan: [Make something you're good at.]
Emily was skilled in cooking. Under Carol's "devilish training" over the past few years, she had mastered dishes from many countries.
[Do you have any food preferences?]
[None.]
Putting away her phone, Emily started bustling around in the kitchen.
She first prepared a nutritious lunch for her father and took it to the hospital, chatting with him for a while. On her way back, she bought some condiments and daily necessities. By the time she returned to Room 2307, it was already afternoon.
In the laundry room were a few shirts Mr. Satan had changed out of.
She carefully washed the shirts and then heard the phone ring.
Was he coming back? She hadn't even prepared dinner yet.
Wiping her hands dry, she picked up the phone and checked. Her good mood instantly plummeted.
Nathan was calling her again.
She didn't want to answer and hung up directly.
But the phone kept ringing persistently.
Emily took a deep breath and answered, "Nathan, what do you want to say now?"
"Emily, it's me," Sophia's voice came from the other end of the line.
Emily's voice was icy, "You're using Nathan's phone to call me? Don't you have your own phone?"
"Nathan is my husband now, and I'm using my husband's phone. Do you have a problem with that?"
Was she trying to show off?
Emily said coldly, "Fine, I don't care, and I don't want to care. Stop harassing me, okay? By the way, tell Nathan to mind his own business in the future."
Sophia said, "Emily, come to the Reed family villa."
"Why?"
"To sign the divorce agreement."
Emily really didn't want to go back to that cage that had trapped her for four years, nor did she want to see those annoying people again, but if the divorce wasn't settled, she still had to go.
Considering that she had to come back quickly to finish cooking for Mr. Satan, she hailed a taxi and headed straight for the Reed family's address.
Half an hour later, the taxi stopped in front of the villa.
As soon as she entered, she saw Carol diligently peeling oranges for Sophia. "Sophia, you should eat more fruit to replenish your vitamins. It'll make the baby smarter in the future."
Her fawning demeanor was completely different from when she used to be cold and disdainful towards Emily.
Sure enough, as soon as Carol saw Emily, her face immediately turned cold. "You have the nerve to come here?"
Emily couldn't be bothered to argue with her, directly meeting Sophia's gaze. "Where's Nathan?"
Carol stood up abruptly, pointing angrily at the door. "What are you here for? Get out!"
Emily's face turned cold. "If it weren't to sign the divorce agreement, I would never set foot in this house again in my life."
