Chapter 5

Even as exhausted as she was, Crystal wasn’t caught off guard with the opening of her study door. She had been expecting him ever since they had arrived yesterday. It would only have been a matter of time and how quickly his body would heal. She, however, did not turn towards him, but continued to watch the interaction of the children in the yard. “I’m not sure how to thank you, Mam, or why you brought me here? I was told by another that I would be able to find someone here that would be able to answer my questions.” Realizing that she couldn’t put the conversation of any longer, Crystal turned around slowly to face the man in the door of her study. Her eyes traveled over him. He’s body was gasp worthy and mouthwatering. With black hair that was slightly longer than normal and a fire fighting tattoo on his left biceps, it all lead to highlight his golden colored eyes. She had to admit, she had never seen such eyes, not even between the wolves. His in drawn breath told her that he had recognized her. “It’s you! You’re the woman from the fire yesterday, or this morning, or whenever! Your hair though, it’s... shorter...” Trailing off, his eyes widened for a moment. “You should have been dead... “ “Ja... Uhm, it kind of got burned last night, so I had one of the other ladies cut it short for me.” Her hand traveled to her pixie style hair self-consciously. When she looked up again he was closer than she had expected and her voice seemed to hitch in her throat, when she tried to speak again. “We should sit down and discuss a few things....” Her voice trailed off as he wound one of her curls around his finger. It was as if a magnet was pulling them together. Unlike with the Alpha two days ago, she couldn’t resist the pull. “I kind of like it more this way, it suites you.” His voice was barely above a whisper as she leaned into his touch, sparks coursing through her skin, her mind suddenly blank. “I don’t understand...” “GET. AWAY. FROM. MY. MATE!” The booming voice had Crystal rushing back to reality and she would have fallen if not for the fast movement of the man next to her, pulling her up and sharply against a strong, naked chest. The moment their bodies connected, Crystal was flooded with sparks and she couldn’t help but whimper at the feeling, her body going soft, melting to the shape of the one holding her. And to her utmost horror, her panties was suddenly wet. But just as suddenly as the sparks had flooded her, just as quickly they disappeared, and she heard a body hit the floor a few meters away at the same moment a vicious growl filled the air. “What the hell?!” Tertius’s voice definitely showed that he was NOT happy. “I told him not to touch you! I told you boy! She’s MINE!” “f**k Dude! You don’t OWN me! I’m my own damn person! And right now, you’re pissing me off!” "Alpha, everything okay in here?” Jasz’s voice could be heard outside of the door, causing the rogue Alpha to growl in fury. With a warning look to both men, Crystal answered. “Thanks Beta, I’m good for now. We’ll be sorting things out in a minute.” Crystal waited for the receding footsteps before turning onto the rogue Alpha once more. “What the hell is your problem Rogue?” “The name’s Brad, not Rogue, not Dude. Brad. Bradford Demetrius Heyns.” Tertius looked between the two before speaking. “Look, I’m sorry, I guess I miss-interpreted things. I just want to leave. If you can have one of your people maybe driving me back to town?” Sighing slightly, Crystal ran a frustrated hand through her hair before answering him. “Now sit your ass down BRAD so that we can actually talk. You too, please Tertius.” The other man acknowledges her by only raising a surprised eyebrow at being called on his name, before having a seat on one of the chairs. Only after ensuring they were both seated, did Crystal take a position in front of her study window again before continuing. Addressing the rugged, almost too thin man, “Brad, if you shut up and listen, you will get the answers you want, but remember, at ALL times, on these grounds, I AM the Alpha and you the rogue, got that?! I will NOT take your s**t and my men won’t blink an eye to injure you if you try this ordering of me again. And I am NOT your property!” Turning to look at the other man, she couldn’t help but compare the two. Both dark haired and extremely handsome, but where Brad had dark chocolate brown eyes, Tertius’s were golden, almost the color of a flame. She wondered what those two pairs of eyes would look like when filled with passion?  Fuck get your head out of the gutter Crystal! You’re supposed to be the Alpha! Not falling for these two men so they can come and take over your position! I kind of like them. I’d like to take them both.  The naughtiness in Blue’s voice in her mind, caught Crystal unawares and for a moment she was shocked at her wolf’s forwardness. Both? Ya both, they are both our mates so why not? Can’t you feel it? Wolves aren’t supposed to have two mates. Crystal could literally FEEL Blue shrug none caring. I don’t make the rules, I’m just telling you as I see it, and I can definitely tell you, they are BOTH our mates, and I can’t WAIT to f**k them at the same time! Fuck! Now what? Blue however didn’t deem it important enough to answer, receding once more to her place in Crystal’s mind where she keeps herself busy. Groaning in frustration at her wolf’s attitude, she gave herself a shake. “Well?!” Brad’s agitated voice brought her back from the mind link. Crystal however decided to ignore the question, addressing the other man instead. “Tertius, how much do you know about werewolves?”
