Chapter 8“What’s in the bag?” an almost naked Kenny asked, unlocking his front door early Saturday morning. Hayden, carrying his holdall, stepped over the threshold. “Uh, clothes?” He didn’t understand Kenny’s confusion. “Why?” “For tomorrow if…” His words dried up. “Sorry, did I get it wrong? I thought you’d invited me to stay for the weekend.” He reached into his pocket for his mobile. “Mum dropped me off on the way to town. I can ring her to come back for me if you’re busy.” Kenny shook his head, took Hayden’s bag, dropped it on the carpet, and pulled Hayden into a hug.
