Sam and Miriam walked all the Circles of Thistown over the next few weeks, looking for the missing three. They went into every factory on Workshop Way, they scoured the great park between the Twelfth and Thirty-fifth Circles, they trudged past every house on every Avenue. And to make matters worse, everywhere they went they were followed by a Rasperite who hoped that they would lead them to their friends. It made no difference, they found nothing.
