Her Mate Dilemma

18 - Enjoying Time Together

    I was enjoying the closeness I was sharing with my mate, until she suddenly pushed me off of her and onto the floor.  I knew why she did it, but that didn't stop my wolf, Brad, from getting angry and trying to take control.  

    I was confident that he wouldn't do anything to hurt our mate, but I wasn't so confident that he wouldn't try to mark her without permission, and I couldn't chance that.  It took a few minutes for me to regain complete control of my human body, and I was nothing short of relieved when that moment arrived.

    Right away, I sheepishly mumbled, "Mate, you are going to be the death of me."

   Alexandria quickly closed the gap between us, then she dropped to her knees and wrapped her arms around me.  Instantly, I wrapped my arms around her in return, as she timidly mumbled, "I'm sorry, Brady.  I didn't mean to upset your wolf, but I must say... your wolf has the prettiest gold eyes."

    I chuckled in response, and there was no mistaking the relief that flooded into her beautiful, light brown eyes.  I was happy to see her relieved, but I was still feeling a little out of sorts.

    I buried my face in the crook of her neck, then I took a few deep inhales of her intoxicating scent, and Alexandria did the same to me.  I loved her amazing pumpkin and strawberry scent.  It made me think of spring and autumn, which were my favorite seasons of the year.

    After almost a minute of scenting each other, I was feeling a lot calmer, so I started tickling my mate's sides, as I playfully chirped, "Payback time."

    Alexandria tried to wiggle out of my grasp, but her attempts didn't help her one bit.  I continued to tickle her, as I enjoyed her melodious giggles, until she started panting for air, then I stopped so she could catch her breath. 

   It took her several minutes to get her breathing under control, then she attempted to glare at me, but that didn't last long.  All I had to do was give her my sad, puppy dog eyes, and she immediately caved, then her lips curved up to form a genuine smile.

    I loved seeing her pretty smile light up her face, and I was happy to be one who put that gorgeous smile there.  It made me feel good to make my mate happy, and that was one of my main goals at the moment.  I wanted to keep her happy and feeling loved, so she wouldn't choose Liam over me.

    We stayed in my bedroom and hung out until later in the evening, then my mum called us down for dinner.  As soon as we sat down at the dining table, Alexandria enthusiastically chirped, "This looks amazing, Shelly."

    My mate wasn't kidding.  My mum outdid herself on the dinner she prepared for everybody.  Spread across the table was fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, baked beans and fried apples.  The aroma of the different foods filled my nostrils, and my mouth started watering in response to those amazing aromas.

    My mum flashed a sweet smile at my mate, then she happily replied, "Thank you, dear.  Now let's enjoy this scrumptious dinner."

    A scrumptious dinner it was.  Everything turned out perfect, and there wasn't any leftovers by the time we all finished eating.  My mum looked pleased to see everybody enjoy the food, and she was even more pleased when Alexandria and I offered to clean up the kitchen after dinner.

    There were more dishes than usual, but we still knocked out the chore in no time, then we spent a few hours watching tv with my parents.  Of course, some of that time we were talking to them about random things, and I found myself feeling relieved that my mate was getting along with my parents so well.

    When Alexandria started to look tired, I insisted we go back to my bedroom and start getting ready for bed.  Not that I planned on going to sleep right away, but I wanted a little more alone time with my mate, since she would be leaving in the morning to visit Liam's pack.

    Just the thought of her leaving sent my emotions spiraling, but I did my best to keep myself from getting upset about it.  I knew that would only frustrate my mate, and I didn't want to give her any reason to not want to return.

    Once we were back in my bedroom, I pulled Alexandria to the loveseat with me, then I sat down and pulled her onto my lap.  Right away, I wrapped my arms around her, then I snuggled my face against her neck and mumbled, "I'm glad we got to spend this time together.  I have very much enjoyed having you here."

    "I like it here.  You're parents are awesome, and I have always liked the Silver Moon Pack," she cheekily replied with a shrug of her shoulders.

    I chuckled at my mate's shoulder shrugging, then I affectionately murmured, "You can spend as much time here with me as you want.  In fact, the more time you spend with me, the better."

    Alexandria suddenly repositioned herself so she was straddling my lap, then she cupped my cheeks in her palms and gazed into my eyes.  After a few seconds, she cheerfully replied, "I will definitely be returning to spend more time with you after my three nights with Liam."

    "You better," I adamantly insisted while flashing her a smirk.

    She giggled for just a second, then she leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on my lips.  Instantly, I rubbed my hands up her back, then I rested them on her shoulders and kept her from pulling away from me.

    After a minute or so of our lips being molded together, I swiped my tongue across her lower lip, and she immediately parted them.  Right away, I darted my tongue into her sweet mouth, and there was no stopping the moan that echoed throughout my bedroom.

    We spent the next few hours either making out or snuggling, and it was a great way to spend our evening together.  I wished I could keep her there with me forever, but I knew that wasn't an option at that point in time, so I chose to enjoy the time we had while I could.
