Her Mate Dilemma

13 - Ending a Good Day

Liam 

    I hated having to separate from my mate.  I could already feel her emotions for some reason, and that was almost too much to endure.  The first night Alexandria was with Brady, I could feel her sadness and anxiety.  It took every last bit of willpower I had not to jump in my car and speed to the Silver Moon Pack.  

    I didn't know anything about her other mate, but I knew he wasn't onboard with her being mated to both of us.  I could understand his frustration about it, since I didn't particularly want to share her either.  However, I would rather share her, than not have her in my life at all.

    The next day, her emotions stayed calm, and that brought me a great deal of relief.  In fact, a lot of the time, I could feel her happiness coursing through our bond, and it helped keep a smile on my face.

    Her twin brother Alexander had already joined the Pine Tree Pack, and that also helped to keep a smile on my face.  I knew that having him there could help influence her decision about which pack she wanted to join in the future.  I didn't want to leave my Beta position at the Pine Tree Pack, but I would if I had to in order to be with her.

    However, there was quite a bit of tension between Alexander, Liza, Valerie and Nathan.  I completely understood why Alexander didn't like them from the start, since our former Luna Bethany was his cousin.  I wouldn't have wanted anything to do with Valerie and Nathan, if I were in his shoes.  

    Hell, I didn't care for Valerie from the start.  She always acted like a spoiled pack slut before she found Nathan, but it didn't take long for her to calm down once they marked and mated with each other.

    When I laid down that night, I had to keep telling myself, one more full day and night, then I can pick my mate up from the Silver Moon Pack and bring her to my home.  I hoped for Alexandria to like it more than the Silver Moon Pack, but I knew not to get my hopes up too much, since she had family there, and she had known a lot of their pack members for a long time.

    I tossed and turned for a few hours, as thoughts of my gorgeous mate kept floating through my mind, and it was almost enough to drive me absolutely crazy.  I just wanted to hold my mate in my arms again and feel those amazing sparks that flowed between us.  

    When I finally felt my eyelids getting heavier, I was overjoyed.  I didn't mind thinking about my mate, but I needed to get some sleep, so I could train our warriors in the morning.  I took my Beta position serious, and I didn't want to let my Alpha or our warriors down.

Alexandria 

    Brady and I snuggled on the couch and watched a movie, until his mum called for us to join them for dinner.  I was hungry, so I didn't waste any time getting to my feet and heading to the dining table with Brady right behind me.

    As soon as the aroma of smoked sausage hit my nose, my mouth instantly started watering.  I loved any kind of meat, and smoked sausage was no exception to that.

    After Brady and I got seated, we filled our plates up with the smoked sausage, yellow rice, black beans, and sweet peas that his mum had cooked, then I eagerly dug into my food.  Everything was absolutely delicious, and I had no problem filling up my plate a second time.

    When we were done eating, we talked to Brady's parents for a little bit, then I offered to help with the clean up, since Shelly had cooked the entire meal by herself.  She seemed surprised by my offer, and she tried to tell me it wasn't necessary, but I was insistent.  Eventually, she agreed to let me clean up the kitchen, then her and Ace went to living room and sat down together.

    Brady stayed in the kitchen with me and helped with the clean up.  I didn't expect him to, but I was more than happy to have the help.  It was especially nice to have his help when it came to putting stuff away, because I had no clue where everything went.

    As soon as we were done cleaning the kitchen, Brady nonchalantly stated, "I'm going to sit on the porch.  You're welcome to join me, if you want."

    "Okay," I replied with a shrug of my shoulders, then I followed him outside.  

    Brady sat down on a little settee, and I was quick to sit down beside him.  Right away, he snaked his hand around my waist and rested it on my hip, then I leaned against his side and gazed at the forest in front of us.

    It was an especially lush forest, with trees that towered high in the sky.  In between the trees was an abundance of briar bushes and other shrubs that made it hard to see if there was anything lurking in the darkness of the forest.  Luckily, the Silver Moon Pack was protected by the Protection Spell, so the chances of there being anything bad in the forest was slim to none.  

    While we were sitting on the porch, Brady curiously asked, "What would you like to do tomorrow?"

    "Can I watch you train?" I asked in return.    

    Brady flashed me a smile, before he proudly stated, "I would love to show you my skills."

    I giggled at my mate, then I happily replied, "It'll be nice to see how you guys train here."

    We stayed sitting on the porch and talked about how their training regiment usually goes, and it was a nice conversation.  I could tell Brady was proud of the accomplishments he had made with his training.  I liked seeing this side of my mate, a lot more than the moody, jealous side.  

    After we watched the sunset, we went back inside and headed straight for Brady's bedroom.  Once we got up there, I grabbed a change of clothes, then I headed straight to the shower.  

    Brady didn't even try to follow me, and I was a surprisingly happy about that.  It was nice to take a relaxing shower and let the tension from the past few days dissipate, but I wouldn't have been able to do that, if he had joined me.  

    When I was done with my shower, I quickly dried the water off my body, then I pulled my light purple nightgown over my head.  Once I was dressed, I walked back into Brady's bedroom to find him asleep.  

    I quietly walked over to the bed and climbed under the blanket, then I snuggled against Brady's side and enjoyed the warmth that was radiating off his body.  A few seconds later, Brady wrapped his arms around me, then he pecked a kiss on my forehead, before he groggily mumbled, "Goodnight, mate."

    "Goodnight, mate," I softly murmured, then I closed my eyes and allowed myself to quickly drift to sleep.
