16 - Dancing

Brady      I was a little surprised when my mate told me about Chester staring at her, but I didn't think much of it.  He had always been a quiet one, and he usually kept to himself for the most part, but he never started any trouble with anybody in the pack.       Alexandria seemed to pep up a little bit when I told her not to worry about him, but I could still see the tension written all over her facial features, as we walked back to my house.  Her eyes kept darting around us, and her posture stayed rigid like she was staying on high alert.     As soon as we walked into my house, there was a visible change in her posture, because of how much she relaxed, and it made me feel incredibly good to know she felt safe with me and my parents.  I made a mental note to make sure that never changed, as I watched her lips curve up to form a wider smile.     When my mate noticed my mum was in the kitchen making lunch, she let go of my hand and offered to help.  Since she was busy doing that, I decided to take a shower and get the sweat from training washed off my body.  I made it a quick shower, because I wanted to spend as much time with my mate as possible, then I quickly dried my body.     After that, I pulled on a pair of snug jeans and a dark blue t-shirt, then I returned to the kitchen.  Alexandria and my mum were carrying food to the dining table, as they happily talked about my childhood, and I was slightly tempted to turn around and go back upstairs.     However, Alexandria caught sight of me and enthusiastically chirped, "Look who decided to join us again.  We were just talking about you."     I flashed her a smirk and nonchalantly replied, "So I heard.  Mum, I hope you aren't telling my mate anything embarrassing about me."     My mum only laughed in response, as she filled up four glasses with sweet tea.  Alexandria on the other hand was quick to coyly remark, "I'm learning all kinds of interesting things about you."     I ran my fingers through my still wet hair, then I curiously asked, "Like what?"     Alexandria giggled at me, before she cheekily responded, "Let's just say, I fully expect you to show me the dance you used to do as a pup."     Instantly, I groaned in response, as my face turned a deep shade of crimson.  I couldn't believe my mum told my mate about me liking to dance when I was a pup.  That was something I never told anybody but my parents.  Not even James knew about that.  I was slightly mortified that my mate now knew, and I had no clue what to say in response.     After a few more seconds of feeling a bit humiliated, I adamantly mumbled, "Never.  I haven't done that dance in over six years, and I don't intend to do it again now."     Alexandria walked up to me and placed the palms of her hands on my chest, then she batted her thick eyelashes at me, as she innocently pleaded, "Please, mate.  I want to see you dance for me.  I'll show you one of my dances, if you show me yours."     Okay, now we're talking, I thought to myself, before I dipped my head down and whispered in her ear, "Show me yours first, and we might just have a deal."     My mate's body visibly trembled in response to me whispering in her ear, and that brought an ear to ear smile to my face.  I loved that I could make her react to me in such a way.     Alexandria flashed me a seductive smile, then she softly murmured, "You have a deal."     "I can't wait to see this," I happily chirped, as I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and pulled her against me.     Right away, she wrapped her arms around my waist, then she rested her head against my chest and sighed.  I was very much enjoying the embrace we were sharing, when my mum returned to the table with the glasses of tea, then she yelled for my dad.     Reluctantly, I dropped my arms from around Alexandria, then we sat down beside each other at the round dining table.  As soon as my dad joined us at the table, we all made our plates and enjoyed the delicious lunch.     They prepared hot ham and cheese sandwiches, french fries, baked beans and cucumber slices.  Everything seemed especially tasty, and I made sure to get a full belly.  When we were done eating, I helped Alexandria clean up the kitchen, then we went to my bedroom to hang out.     As soon as we got up there, I curiously asked, "Are you ready to show me that dance?"     "Sure," she nonchalantly replied with a shrug of her shoulders.     I chuckled at my mate, as I sat down on the beige, leather loveseat that lined one wall of my room.  When I looked up, she was scrolling through what I assumed was songs on her cellphone, then I heard music start playing.     She tapped the tips of her fingers on the outside of her thighs for a few seconds, then she started moving her feet and swaying her hips.  She was a surprisingly good dancer, and I found myself wondering if she had taken dance lessons at some point, or if she was a natural at it.     When the song ended, she walked straight over to me, then she grabbed my hands and pulled me to my feet, before she enthusiastically stated, "It's your turn."     I shook my head at my mate and smiled, as I playfully replied, "I told you never."     "Oh no.  You aren't getting out of this.  Turn your song on and get to dancing, mate," she adamantly insisted.     I chuckled again at my persistent mate, then I turned the song on from my puphood.  Alexandria sat down on the loveseat and leaned back with the cutest smile playing on her full lips.  I couldn't refuse her request, especially when she was smiling at me like that.     I did the dance for her with my cheeks redder than they had probably ever been.  As soon as the song ended, I plopped down beside her and nonchalantly asked, "Are you happy now?"     Alexandria giggled in response, then she leaned over and pecked a kiss on my cheek, before she affectionately replied, "I am.  You are a great dancer.  I enjoyed dancing with you at the celebration, but not as much as I enjoyed watching you dance just now."     I draped my arm over her shoulder, then I pulled her against my side, as I thoughtfully remarked, "You are an amazing dancer, too."
