Ella's POV
I woke up with so much regret the next day. I should have stayed and talked to Landyn and at least Lily. I just couldn't look Maureen in the eye any longer with the possibility of me having any part of what's going on with her mom. The guilt was consuming me.
I tried to ask Brent more questions about Laura, but it didn't get me very far. The most I got from him was that she was checking on me sometimes when I wouldn't wake up for a few days. He said Laura made him promise not to tell Daddy. If he did what she said, she would make him his favorite triple chocolate chunk cookies.
I'm not sure what Laura was doing in our bedroom. No one was allowed in there. So the fact she was brave enough to risk it says one of two things. She was either trying to harm me or help me. Im guessi
