Both the Bedspread Inn’s restaurant and the game room in the basement were packed. Nearly every resident of Northstar had gathered around the two monster screens Pat and Aelissm had set up so everyone could watch together as the Montana State Bobcats fought in the semi-final playoff game for the chance to head to the national championship. While Montana college football was a popular pastime, even a playoff game with either the Cats or the Griz playing wouldn’t have brought them all together, but this year, one of Northstar’s own—June and Ben Conner’s son Luke—would lead the Cats as the starting quarterback.
