Lieutenant General Jack O'Neill was standing in Atlantis with the communication stones here, as he was expecting an update from Eli Wallace from Destiny when Rodney McKay had summoned him for a report. Atlantis had been on Earth for two years undergoing repairs to the Hyperspace Engines, as they had been damaged in transit from Pegasus to the Milky Way. They had also been using the opportunity to copy and transfer a copy of the Ancient Database to the SGC, and he knew it was getting close to being done on the sections they had access too.
"Rodney, what was so important I had to come all the way here?" Jack asked him as he entered the command center of Atlantis.
"General, we have a briefing available for you in the conference room." Rodney said leading the way as he left his 2 year project. He was trying to c***k the the Lantean Council Command Codes.
"How goes breaking the Clmmand Codes?" he asked.
"Terribly, it is a proto encryption. It could take several more months atleast, if we ever truly c***k it. Even with the hint we may not ever c***k it." Rodney replied.
Jack nodded as they walked in and the doors closed with only a few people. "So where are we?" he asked looking at Colonel Sheppard who had been given command of Atlantis while it was here on Earth.
Eli opened the eyes of his host after he had made the connection, and was surprised by the surroundings as he was in the control room with Zalenka talking to him. "Apologies Dr., but I am Eli Wallace making a scheduled connection to report to General O'Neill."
Zalenka smiled as he had been informed it would happen. "Of course, General O'Neill is in a briefing at the moment, and has asked you remain out here."
Eli smiled as he looked around. "Actually if I could use a work station, that will save me one of the requests I needed to make after filing my report."
Zalenka looked around and the only one that wasn't being used by a person, Rodney had been running the decryption program on for nearly 2 years solid. Eli saw what was on the monitor and nearly laughed but held it in. "It will take a few minutes to free up a terminal actually."
Eli did laugh at that as he pointed to the one showing the hint for the Council lockout. "If I solve that one can I use it?" Eli asked making Zalenka laugh.
"If you can solve that I will give you a weeks wages. Rodney has been working on almost just that the last 2 years, and another 5 years sporadically." Zalenka said as Eli over to the Lantean Terminal and began entering in an equation.
"Yeah, that program would have never worked. If not for Dr. Rush and the less evolved chair aboard Destiny, I would probably be as list as he was. But this is the same clue for the master code to Destiny, and is an Alpha-Numeric representation of the ATA Gene that allows your people to use the tech here." Eli said as he finished inputting the formula and the screen flashed green before Rodney's computer stopped. There was a whole host of files that began scrolling across the screen, and Zalenka was shocked that Eli had so easily broke the Lantean Council Master Code within a few minutes of arriving in Atlantis for the first time.
"Math boy is an understatement." Zalenka said as he activated his radio. "McKay, please bring General O'Neill to the Command Center. You need to see this."
'What Zalenka, we are in the middle of an important briefing.' McKay replied quickly.
"Bring Colonel Sheppard as well." Zalenka replied. "We are in."
'What does that mean?' McKay replied as Eli opened a file about Destiny that had been hidden behind the Council Seal along with the rest of the Destiny files. It was no wonder they had not found them when they searched for them.
"McKay, bring them now. Eli has cracked the code." Zalenka said before he shut the channel off and the conference room doors opened as the 3 men walked out. McKay ran to his laptop and saw it was frozen.
"What did you do? Who the hell are you?" he demanded if Eli.
"Hello Rodney, nice to see you to. Despite appearances, I am Eli Wallace and I solved your lockout problem." he said as he kept looking at the files and found the subspace comms that would send the files to Destiny for repairs and upgrades.
"How the hell did you solve it?" Rodney asked as he used his laptop to see just what had been unlocked.
Eli laughed as he looked at Rodney. "It is the same code used aboard Destiny, so I cannot take credit for it alone. Dr. Rush actually found the clues that allowed us to realize it was an equation representing the ATA gene that they later used to lock the tech here. The answer is the Alpha-Numeric answer to that equation, and is what I input into the console to unlock the files I needed." he replied as he wrote it down and handed it to Rodney. "Your program would have never been able to solve it, fortunately for you one of my requests was going to be to come here in search if Destiny data that could be sent to ship in order to aid our repairs."
"This is all well and good, but Eli, I need your report about the status of Destiny." Jack O'Neill said as he knew Rodney would need several minutes to determine the answers to his questions.
"Sir, the situation aboard Destiny is far graver than what any of us imagined possible. A generator exploded and has punctured a Stellar Plasma Tank draining our available power by 30 percent. Currently the rest of the crew is still in stasis, however it is one of the only systems still operating because of the reduced amount of power available. Repairs will take atleast 6 weeks before I can even get to Stellar Plasma Storage and power generation in order to determine what exactly is wrong and if I will be able to repair the damage. Also, three additional passengers from the Alterran Exploration Force were awakened from an unknown Stasis Chamber. They have been aboard since Destiny launched, and a computer glitch kept them in stasis the entire time. We have about 12 weeks worth of rations and water, after which we will need supplies sent through the Stargate." Eli told him quickly. "I am hoping we can have enough of the ship repaired by than to jump into FTL as soon as the supplies are delivered."
"Why would you need supplies if the ship is back in FTL and you can reenter stasis?" O'Neill asked him.
Eli shook his head. "Even with the drives fixed, we still need to recharge the Plasma Storage in order to have the power we need to make it to the next Galaxy. As such we will have to fight our way past at least one Command Ship in order to charge the ship. Even after we manage to do that, the Alterrans would prefer to remain awake. They just spent 72 million years in stasis because of an automatic wakeup glitch. I cannot say as I blame them, and I would like permission to join them in staying awake and continuing to repair the ship. It will likely take 16 weeks for the 4 of us to complete critical repairs, and an addition 30 weeks to fully repair the ship as much as we can without additional parts that can be made here."
Jack looked at the screen Eli had been using, and saw the schematics of a ship that was clearly Ancient in design. "Do we have the schematics for the parts you need?" he asked.
Eli looked at it and smiled. "You have the schematics you need to make another Destiny Class ship, so yes you have what you need other than minerals to make the ship."
Jack smiled as he knew this ship would be a powerful monster on a battlefield here. Especially with the amount of upgrades that were now showing in the list of parts available. "Than consider whatever parts you find yourself in need of being supplied as quickly as we can make them. Hopefully you can have an initial list ready within a week, so we can make as many as possible for the supply dialing in 12 weeks time. Next trip in one week we would also like one of these Alterrans to accompany you, so we can ask some questions that need answers. Good Luck Mr. Wallace, you are going to need it I think." Jack said before the connection was terminated.
