Chapter 5 Couldn't Evade

"Finding your mate will not only help you manage the recklessness that comes with the full moon but it will also allow you to fully awaken the Alpha Wolf King imprint, securing your inheritance rights beyond question!" Yellen said with a nod, "You must find her! She has to be someone extraordinarily special." "Understood, Master. Glenn and I will make sure we assign enough people to track down any leads," Fury responded, bowing respectfully. With that task set, Yellen felt a wave of weariness and decided it was time to head to his room for some rest. "Master, just so you know, Mrs. Andrew is currently bunking in your bedroom," Fury quickly chimed in, hoping to prevent any awkward run-ins between Yellen and Eve. Yellen paused at this, eyebrows raised. "She's been living there all these years?" "Yes," Fury replied, a bit hesitantly, "but I can make arrangements for her to move to a different room if you wish." Yellen considered it for a moment before shaking his head. "It's fine for now." So, Fury refrained from saying more, offering a respectful nod before leaving the study. Ten minutes later, Yellen stood outside the door to the master bedroom. ***** A gentle steam seeped out from under the door, and the sound of soothing music floated into the hallway. The master bathroom was filled with the fragrant scent of crimson rose petals floating atop the surface of a large, elegantly decorated bathtub. The room was quiet and serene, with no one in sight. Amid the soft bubbling of the water, a delicate arm suddenly emerged from the depths of the tub, sending a few petals scattering into the air. Eve abruptly sat up from her submerged position in the center of the tub, her wet hair dripping as she glanced at the clock on the wall. She had been holding her breath for quite a while this time. She was certain she had set a new personal best. Five minutes and thirty seconds. With a satisfied sigh, she let herself relax back into the warm water, enjoying the peaceful solitude. She had managed to add another thirty seconds to her previous record. Days at the estate dragged on, often monotonous and seemingly endless, prompting her to set quirky personal challenges. Besides her bathtub breath-holding, she found solace in tending to her collection of succulents and cacti. In moments of cheerfulness, she would merge cactus spines into the succulent pots; in more somber times, she'd painstakingly separate them again. Reflecting on this, Eve chuckled softly, covering her eyes with her hand as she realized how mundane and predictable her life had become. Yet, she braced herself for the challenges that lay ahead. Shaking her head to dispel wandering thoughts, she reminded herself firmly. Legally bound as Yellen's wife, she couldn't evade whatever intentions he might harbor. Especially given Yellen's undeniable charm, coupled with his strong, attractive physique, Eve couldn't help but feel she'd struck gold. Draping a dry bath towel around herself, Eve strolled out of the bathroom, a muttered phrase escaping her lips. "Being infatuated isn't a crime; it's an appreciation..." Her words trailed off abruptly as she stepped into the bedroom, her expression paling in shock. Right now, Yellen was lounging on the sofa, his gaze fixed on her. Seeing the alluring beauty emerge from her bath, Yellen was certain Eve was ready to seduce him tonight. It seemed that everything that happened in the dining room was orchestrated by her for a game of cat and mouse. Her wet hair cascaded over her shoulders, accentuating her fair complexion. Clad in nothing but a thin towel tightly wrapped around her chest, she showcased her voluptuous figure. Yellen scrutinized her before his gaze returned to her startled face. "How... how did you get in here?" Eve struggled to control her emotions. "This is my room too," Yellen replied calmly, rising from the sofa and leisurely approaching her. Despite Eve being wrapped in a towel, she couldn't help but feel his gaze was palpable, assessing her body. Yellen's eyes shimmered in the soft lamplight, his gaze drifting down to her bare feet resting on the carpet. The plush fibers brushed against her naked skin, causing his body temperature to surge uncontrollably. Her scent lingered in the air, distinct and natural, weaving its way into his breath, untouched by any bath product. Yellen's slow advance resembled that of an alpha predator stalking its prey. At that moment, Eve felt like the unfortunate quarry herself. The sensation struck fear into Eve, causing her to retreat instinctively until her back pressed against the door. "Sorry, I... I can leave if you want," Eve stammered, her voice betraying her panic. Yellen's insincerity was palpable in his smile, his tone mocking her facade of innocence and reserve. "Leave? After finally having the husband return home, don't you want to fulfill your wifely duties?" It was a test from Yellen, a manifestation of his raw desire. His words stunned Eve, momentarily leaving her speechless. "You've already showered, yet you're playing innocent?" Yellen caught her scent, a sly smile forming. "I quite like your fragrance..." Confronted with Yellen's dominance, Eve didn't dare to resist, wrapped only in a flimsy bath towel. If there had been any doubt before about Eve's intentions, her lack of resistance confirmed Yellen's suspicions were correct. "Well, since you're so eager, I suppose I could entertain your invitation first, tend to your needs, and then we can talk." Hold on! What needs was he implying she had?! Panicking now, Eve clutched the towel tighter, afraid she might inadvertently expose herself to this man.
