Emma's Point of View

I saw the doctors and nurses around me but then a flash of light happened and I was sitting in an office. I looked around but no one was here, so I stood up and walked around. I went over to the door and tried to open it but it was locked. Great I'm stuck here until further notice. 

As I looked around my eyes landed on a book shelf  and walked over to it. I began to read the different book titles and even touched some of them. I had never heard of any of these books or authors. Klark Tempton: The Fairy war,  Paul Love: Finding the Void, Finley Rodgers: Hybrids. What a strange collection but the book by Paul Love caught my attention.  What is the void? 

I grabbed the book and admired the cover for a moment. It was a thick book with a blue leather cover. There was a golden mica symbol that looked like the tree of life. I felt like the book was speaking to me so I walked over to the chair I originally sat at and opened the book.

It had that new book smell and the writing looked like old an old English style. As I touched the first page I felt a power surge through me causing me to shiver but I had the need to read it.

The Void

Chapter one 

In the supernatural world there are thousands of beings that have gone dark. Witches, rogue wolves, fairy's and so much more but what happens when someone becomes so dark they are not aloud to enter the heavens above or to the fiery depths below? Well simple answer they go to the void and they are only sent there if there god allows it.

The void is the a lonely place. You are surrounded by darkness with nothing in sight, no way in and no way out. You just float there with nothing but your thoughts. 

I was half way through the book when I placed it on my lap and thought about the man Cole for my memories or dreams. He is in the void, I just know it.  "Wait why do I care so much? " I whispered out loud. 

"Because you fell in love with him." A male voice said. I looked around the room and then all of a sudden a man, no my grandfather appeared on the other side of the desk. This having a new memory is so confusing.  

"I don't understand." I looked into his eyes and said. 

He sat down and folded his hands. "It is nice to see you again Emma." He said with a big smile on his face.

"Why am I here?" 

"You have changed my dear girl." 

"What is that suppose to mean?" I asked. 

"You were very shy and soft spoken and now you are bold." 

I ran my hand over my face and sighed. "I don't understand what in the world is going on. I have all these memories in my head and yet they are not mine." 

"They are yours Emma you just forgot them." He said. 

"How is that possible." 

He cleared his throat. "Emma just like that book you were in a void but one you were not awake for. I took you from your home two days after the mass slaughtering of are people and brought you to a very powerful witch named Cassandra. She helped me preserve your body and keep you safe and when the time was right we brought you back. We needed you to be younger because bringing you back at the age you currently were and are would have caused you a lot of mental distress and harm. The moon goddess helped us and has been helping to slowly unlock your memories." 

 I just sat there and processed what he said. "I have a past life, no that is not right. What the hell." I shook my head. "I had my memory erased and then it came back but I was given the fountain of youth."

"Kinda of." He said and I just looked him. 

"Did you just read my mind?" 

He laughed. "No Emma you spoke that out loud." 

"Oh." And I looked down. "So I am not human?" 

"No." 

"Then what am I?"  

"We called ourselves enchanters but in your realm they call us fairy's, pixies and elves." 

I shook my head. This is not happening. I stood up and began to pace. "This is not possible. I have finally reached my breaking point." And I fell onto my knees. I heard him get up and walk towards me and get down on his knees. He tried to hug me but I pushed him away. "No go away." 

"Emma you are not crazy my sweet girl." He said. I put my hands over my ears and laid on the floor into a ball. I closed my eyes . "When you are ready I will be there." He whispered and kissed my head and next thing I knew I heard beeping. 

Beep, beep, beep. I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in a hospital room. I was hooked up to so many machines it was not funny. Wires coming from my head, chest and even my arm. What the hell happened to me. I tried to sit up but I was so weak. I laid there and then a hallucination happened. 

"I love you." I whispered into Cole's ear and then laid on his chest. I could hear the steady beat of his heart. A heart I have grown to love over these past few weeks.   

"I love you to my princess." And he kissed my head. 

"Emma. Emma." Someone shouted snapping out of the hallucination. There was a doctor standing above me. 

"Ah ya." I said as I looked around and heard one of the monitors going of like crazy . 

"I am doctor Parker and you are in a hospital." 

"Ya I can see that." 

She shined a light in my eyes and I backed away. "Sorry about that. What is the last thing you remember?" 

"Being with Cole in the meadow."
