“This isn’t my body?”
“That can’t be possible, I’m sure I used the right spell, what did I say wrong or do wrong?” she asked and brought out a brown notebook from her purse and started to surf through it. “What possibly could have gone wrong?” she kept asking.
“I don’t know but we need to leave here” I said as I started to hear voices from inside the house.
“They are still here” Zira asked
“I guess so” I said and she led me out, we got to the main entrance of the building and I saw my lifeless body laying still on the floor and I immediately started crying.
“Is that you?” Zira asked.
“Yes” I answered wiping away my tears. “Is it possible to take the body with us?”
“No, I don’t think that’s a really good idea, and what if your soul goes back into the body on our way out?”
“Could that happen?”
“I really don’t know but with magic anything is possible” she said and led me out.
After a long walk we finally arrived at the next village.
“Can I go inside?” I asked as we stood a little bit far from the gigantic gate leading into the village.
“Wait here, I’ll go get my mum, she’ll be able to help us get inside”
“Okay, thank you very much” I said before she left me and went inside the gate.
I didn’t know why I was still in severe pain even when I don’t have any visible wound, “Could this be a side effect of the sacred water?” I asked myself as I managed to lay down on the floor because I am in so much pain and it is making standing up feel like a huge task to me.
“What could be taking them so much time?” I asked as I kept looking around to see if I could see Zira although I couldn’t see much because the weather was already dark. “What if she never comes back for me?” I asked myself and the thought of that really broke my heart. “Well I won’t be surprised; she has already done a lot for me and I can’t possibly blame her for not coming to get me”. After a few more minutes I start to hear voices and the voices kept drawing nearer, I could see that one of them was holding a lamp. “Could that be Zira?” I asked and still managed to go and hind behind the tree I was leaning on like it will make any difference If someone was actually coming to hurt me.
“Where could she be?” I heard one of the voices ask.
“Are you sure this is the spot you left her?” one asked
“Yes” she said. “Please come out, it’s Zira” she said
“Do you even know her name?”
“No, but I told her mine”
“hmm”
“It’s Zira, the girl that brought you out here, I’m here with my mum”
“We are here to help you” Someone else said and I finally made a move to stand up but couldn’t stand up, I heard them run to where I was hiding.
“Are you okay” the elderly lady whom I assumed is Zira’s mum asked.
“Honestly am not”
“What’s your name?”
“My name is Ariana but I’m in Hermione’s body”
“Ariana, we need to get you out of these blood-filled clothes, you need to change because we can’t possibly get into there with these clothes you are putting on” she said and pulled out neat cloths from the sack Zira is carrying.
“Thank you” I said after getting changed.
“For us to get in there, you have to pretend that you are not in pain”
“How can I do that when I can’t even stand?” I asked trying so hard not to cry.
“How old are you love?”
“I’m fourteen” I answered as Zira’s mum started wiping my tears with a piece of cloth
“Can I call you Ana?”
“Yes”
“Okay, Ana, you are going to be okay, Zira told me how she found you, we’ll carry down to the gate and everything that happens next will be in your hands, you have to be strong baby girl, you got this and we’ll be right beside you. All you have to do is get inside the gate and everything will be okay”
“What if I can’t do it?”
“Girl, you need to get rid of that mindset, out of everyone in that building, you were the only one that came out alive and I believe there is a very good reason for that?”
“What if someone recognizes me?”
“Let’s not worry about that, no one will recognize you” Zira’s mum said continuously comforting me, they finally lead me to the gate, few steps to the city gate the let me walk on my own.
“You got this girl” Zira’s mum whispered to me.
“You are Alpha Rocco’s guest, right?” the huge guy standing at the entrance asked
“Yes, I am”
“We were informed that you had only one company, how come am now seeing two?” he asked in an unpleased tone.
“She is also my daughter; I forgot a very important ingredient for the medicine I was making for Luna so I had to send for her to bring it” Zira’s mum lied without even blinking an eye.
“Can I see it?”
“The Alpha and his Luna are waiting for us, so if you don’t mind, we have to get going”
“I’m sorry but if you do not show us this important ingredient that your daughter brought, none of you will be allowed inside the gate”
“Then suit yourself, I hope you tell the Alpha that you sent his guests back” she said to the guy before turning to Zira and I “Let’s go girls, we don’t have the whole day to stand here and exchange words with a mere security man”
“Watch your tongue woman” he snapped at her.
“You watch your tongue, I can see that you little werewolves do not have fear in your eyes, you think you can speak to anyone you see in whatever manner you dim fit”
“Look at this old blondie, if you do not leave my presence this minute, I’ll tear your flesh apart and feed it to the birds of the air”
“Interesting” Zira’s mum said before she started murmuring strange words and the security guy that was just exchanging words with her started to scream in agony and begging for his life
“What is she doing? Is she going to kill him?” I asked Zira looking terrified.
“No, she is only teaching him a lesson”
“Oh, but it looks really painful”
“Believe me when I say that it hurts more than it looks”
“That’s bad”
“Really bad”
It took a whole lot of people to convince Zira’s mum to forgive the naïve security guy.
We finally got into the city and Zira’s mum carried me on her back and led me to their room.
“Stay with her, let me go find something for her to eat”
“Thank you so much ma’am, I really appreciate”
“It’s really nothing” she said and left.
I woke up the next day feeling totally different, all the pain was gone, I got up the bed and went out to look for Zira and her mum.
“You are finally up?” Zira said.
“Yes, how long have I been sleeping?”
“This is day three and honestly I must commend how strong you are”
“Three days? Was it not just yesterday night that everything that my people were massacred?”
“No”
“Why did I sleep for so long?”
“You were in the healing process and for you to be awake now, it means that you are perfectly okay or do you still feel pain anywhere?”
“No, I’m good”
“That’s good news, give us a few minutes, Zira will go get food for you”
“Okay ma, thank you so much”
“You’re welcome”
After eating I explained everything that happened to Zira and her mum and I couldn’t help but cry as I was narrating everything to them. They asked me to follow them back to their place but I couldn’t because I needed to stay back and find out the real culprit behind what happened.
“Ana you are just fourteen, even if you find out who the killer is, what can a fourteen years old girl possibly do to avenge her family’s death?” Zira’s mum asked sounding so bothered.
“I don’t plan on taking revenge till I get so powerful”
“How do you intend to do that?”
“I really don’t know but I know that very soon I will be so strong and powerful.” I said.
After a few times of trying to convince me, Zira’s mum finally gives up and gives me her blessing.
I stayed with them till their mission here was done and they were about to leave.
“So, you’ve really made up your mind to stay here?” Zira’s mum asked.
“Yes ma’am”
“And I can’t make you change your mind?”
“No you can’t”
“Okay, just feel free to come see us anytime you wish to, our house will be wide open for you to come by anytime you want”
“Thank you Zira, Thank you ma for everything, I really appreciate and I will never forget all that the both of you have done for me and I really hope I get to pay you back someday”
“You don’t have to”
“Wolves always pay their debt” I said
“You are really a stubborn girl and I really wish you all the best, I just pray that you don’t lose yourself in the process of getting revenge”
“I’ll try not to”
“You better do” she said and I saw them off before retuning to take my bag and see where my legs will take me just like my mother
