I clamped my mouth shut tightly, realising the enormity of what I had just done. I had actually responded to him, saying, "No," without a second thought.
As if I didn't already find myself in a huge mess, it seemed like things were about to escalate even further. Once again, I had pushed my luck, and now I could feel Alex's intense gaze piercing through me, as if he would bury me six feet under without a second thought.
"What did you just say, little mouse?" Alex growled, his voice filled with questioning anger.
If only he knew that my mind was frozen, and my mouth was dry, as if I had never been the one to deny him so boldly to his face.
"Alpha Alex, she didn't do anything wrong," Raven stepped forward, positioning himself in front of me as if shielding me from Alex
