MILA'S POV
“Slow down, Sam. Start from the beginning but slower this time.” Samantha had been talking for over five minutes and I had not been able to digest the information she had been unsuccessfully trying to pass on to me.
I heard her sharp intake of breath and then she exhaled after a few seconds. “I don't know what to do, Mila,” she confessed again but this time, it was slower and it was calmer. “I honestly don't know what to do. How do I get out of this? How?”
Honestly, I had no idea too. I had reached out to her after seeing her missed calls and text yesterday but what had followed had been the last thing I had expected. How could things have gone downhill so fast when they were perfect just a while ago?
