Serena cleared her throat and finally found her voice.
“Hi. Yes. I’m Serena. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to meet with me.”
Aiden waved her thanks away. “It’s my pleasure. Why don’t you come in and have a seat and we can talk some?”
Surprising Serena yet again, instead of inviting her to sit in front of his desk, he gestured toward a leather couch off to one side. He took a chair opposite the sofa and crossed one jeaned leg over the other as he waited for her to take a seat.
Whenever she’d met with alphas in the past, they’d always had her sit in front of their giant baroque desks while they reclined in expensive-looking office chairs. It served to make her uncomfortable and worked every time. Aiden though seemed to want to speak in a more relaxed atmosphere, and that put Serena at ease right away.
When Serena was seated, Aiden smiled at her again.
“So, you came all the way from the United States, is that right?”
“Yes, Alpha,” Serena answered.
Aiden frowned and shook his head. “Call me Aiden.”
Serena shot the alpha a quizzical look before nodding. “Okay then, Aiden.”
The alpha smiled and leaned back in his chair. “Tell me about yourself.”
Serena looked down at her hands briefly before speaking up.
“I’m just your average lone wolf looking for a new pack. My wolf’s name is Sasha and she’s an alpha wolf. We were one of the enforcers in our old pack and would be interested in doing that here too. Our combined strength and abilities would make us an invaluable asset to your pack.”
“We can always use more enforcers.” He rubbed at the stubble on his chin. “Tell me what brings you specifically to Guyana.”
