L I N D Y
When we reached Connecticut, it was already seven thirty on a Monday morning and I have a class at eight. Milo hurriedly driven me to school after eating breakfast together and I have tried my best to ignore the bothering thought about Jolene.
The paps were quick to spot us right away as soon as they saw Milo’s face and it was really difficult to hide from people always wanting to take a photo of him. They followed us all the way to Yale where they managed to photograph us when Milo dropped me off. I guess he is pretty much immune to that because he acts as if no one is there. Probably because he has Sam and Paul with him almost everywhere he goes.
“My flight back to London is tomorrow.” He tells me as we stand right outside his car.
I thought, “Too soon.”
I forced a smile though.
“I will pick you up after your class today.” He adds while holding my hand.
I nodded, “Okay, I can’t wait to see you later.”
Milo plants his lips over my knuckles.
“Do I look presentable today?” I asked.
He nods with a cheeky smile, “Of course, always. Even though you didn’t shower.”
I chuckle under my breath, “I ran out of time okay?”
He chuckles while he keeps rubbing his thumb against my skin. I notice a few girls calling out Milo’s name and it was pretty much a new normal for me. Milo waves back and smiles calmly and it always amuses me how calm and kind he is. He’s so damn friendly and polite and I guess that’s one of the reasons why I love him a lot.
The girls finally had the courage to approach us where they greeted us and asked for his picture . Paul was guarding me so I wont be crowded by his fans while I watch as Milo smile for the cameras. He was entertaining them and having a conversation as if they were his close friends. Despite the long flight, he was still able to put that smile on his face and treat people with kindness.
“Lindy?”
I flinched when I heard a voice from behind me and as soon as I turned around, it was Jake. The Jake Ashton from my high school and my crush since like forever. He looked much taller now and so much leaner too. His hair had grown out a little bit and he seemed surprise to see me here as well.
“Jake?” I muttered.
“It is you.” He says with a smile.
I was happy to see him. He is the only person in my high school that came here aside from me and it is good to see a familiar face around. “You go here?” I asked as soon as he approached me.
He nods. “I enrolled about a week ago.”
“That’s great!” I chimed happily. “What are you taking up?”
“Business.” He glances at Milo. “Popstar huh?”
My eyes travelled to Milo as well and he was staring back at us eagerly while he was signing a paper. I was then reminded how Milo hated Jake so much because he knows Jake was my crush back then.
“I’m happy you’re still together.” Jake commented.
“Thank you.” I answered as I moved my head back towards him.
Finally, Milo joins us after he finished the thing with his fans. He placed his arm around my hips and smiled at me before he travelled his head towards Jake.
“Hi.” Milo greeted.
“Hey man.” Jake greeted back casually.
“Milo, this is my high school friend Jake Ashton.” I gestured my hand to Jake. “Jake, this is Milo, my boyfriend.” I gestured my hand back to Milo.
Jake pulled his hand out and extended it towards Milo, “It’s really nice to meet you, man.”
Milo stares at his hand before accepting it, “It’s nice to meet you as well.”
Milo quickly pulled his hand away and kept staring at Jake eagerly before his green eyes landed on mine. I don’t want to think he is jealous but I can already tell that he is even without him saying it. His eyes are covered with jealousy and I can feel it exceeding out of his body.
“My little sister is a huge fan of yours by the way.” Jake blurts out.
“Oh, thanks.” Milo answered shortly. “Do you want me to sign anything for her?”
Still being so kind.
“Maybe we can snag a photo together? I can send it to her after. She will be thrilled.” Jake says, hyped.
“Sure.” Milo responded casually.
“I will take the photo.” I volunteered.
As soon as I got the phone set on camera, Jake and Milo stood next to each other. Jake casually placed his arm around Milo with his thumbs out and a huge smile plastered on his face. Milo on the other hand pulled out a peace sign and a wide smile that showed all of his teeth.
“Say macaroni and cheese with pickle toppings.” I teased.
“Macaroni and cheese with-- what?” Milo gapes as his thick British accent tickles my ears.
I couldn’t help but smile as he makes a funny face before smiling again. I snagged the photo and I still couldn’t help but laugh. Jake thanks Milo as they shake hands before I handed him his phone.
“You’re so cool, man.” Jake complimented.
“Oh, thanks bro.” Milo answers with a smile. “I hope your sister will love it.”
“She will. For sure.” Jake responds.
“Anyways, Jake do you have a class?” I asked.
“Yeah, seven thirty. Running late actually.” Jake responds calmly.
I nodded, “Around eight.”
“Ooh cool.” Jake responded. “Well, I gotta get going now. It was nice seeing you around Lindy.”
I smiled, “You too Jake.”
“Nice meeting you as well, Milo.” Jake smiles at Milo.
“Pleasure’s mine.” Milo answers.
“See you around!” Jake waves as he skis away from us rushing his way towards the school building.
“So.” Milo chimes. “Jake the dog is here.”
I turned my head towards Milo and watch his sit down on the front trunk of his car. I fully faced him and smiled, “You’re jealous.” I teased. “Aren’t you?” I cup his face with my hands.
His icy stares darted at me and even if he didn’t say a word, I knew what his answer was going to be. I kept squishing his cheeks and he was letting me do so. “Did you know you’re so cute when you’re jealous?” I joked.
He purses his lips adorably, “Can I enroll here?”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
“I’m serious. I wanna watch over you. Did you see they way he looked at you?” He asks.
I smile at him and kissed his cheek, “Baby I don’t care about the way he stared at me. I want you to trust me. Alright?”
“I do trust you.” He placed his hands around my waist. “It’s him I don’t trust.” He pushes the escaping tendrils of my hair behind my ear.
“I love you.” I tell him, dearly.
“I love you too.” He holds the back of my neck and gently pulled me closer to him as he kissed my forehead.
I hear the bell ringing and it was time for me to go, “I gotta go baby.”
Milo stands, “I will pick you up later. Take care babe.” He plants a kiss on my lips.
I kissed him back, “Take care too.” I quickly left and rushed my way towards the building. I watch him getting inside his car and exiting the premises of the school. I finally got inside my class right before m professor could enter and my entire day began to start.
Hours flew and it was lunch, I think I fell asleep on my third class half way through and didn’t even know that everyone was leaving the classroom till I heard noises. Groggily, I grabbed my things and headed out of my room effortlessly yawning. As I was fishing my phone inside my bag while I was walking along the hallways, I accidentally bumped onto someone. The impact was so strong that my notes scattered all over the floor and my bag almost fell out from my arm.
Damn it.
“I’m so sorry.” I said instantly.
As soon as I gathered my things, I pulled my head up and saw a tall brown-haired man who was breathtakingly good-looking. He had a well-trimmed hair, short on the sides and short on the top part too.
He smiles at me, “Sorry.”
“I’m sorry too.” I answered. “I wasn’t looking my way.”
“No, I was the one who was not looking. Are you alright?” He asks with a very deep voice.
I nodded as I fixed my things on my arms and he helps me stand. His eyes were light brown which matches his hair, and his smile almost seemed perfect. I could tell instantly that he had a bright personality base from the look in his eyes.
“I am fine.” I answered. “Did I hurt you?”
“No problem.” He smiles before his brows creasing in the middle of his forehead, “You’re Milo Beckett’ girlfriend right?” He asks.
“Oh.” I chimed shyly. “Yeah, I am.”
“I see, I saw him in the parking lot earlier. Seemed like a nice guy.” He says cheerfully.
“”Yeah, he is.” I responded.
He gestures his hands, “It’s an honor.”
“Oh, please. It’s nothing, really. I’m just an ordinary girl.” I answered while I chuckle under my throat.
“I guess we’re on the same boat.” He chuckles too before extending his hand to me, “I’m Griffin Carson.”
I accepted while I smiled back at him, “Lindy.”
We remained silent as he kept shaking my hand and I realized that we were holding hands longer than we should so I subtly pulled my hand back and fixed my bag over my shoulder.
“You have beautiful eyes.” He says with a serious tone in his voice.
I was not expecting he would say that but I forced a smile and thought that maybe he was just being nice to me. “Thank you.”
He shakes his head sideways and laughs humorlessly, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable.” He says politely. “I was just captivated. You do have wonderful eyes.”
“Thank you.” I shied away.
He scratches his hair and was about to say something until my phone ring inside the pocket of my jeans. I quickly said, “Sorry, I will take this call.” Hoping that he would leave me alone.
Although he seemed friendly, I should still keep my guards up.
“Oh, please take all your time. I have to ahead too.” He smiles calmly at me.
I watch him as his eyes were intently looking at me.
“See you around Lindy.”
I stare at him as he begins to walk away from me and I realized that I was alone in the hallway. My phone rings again and it was another call from Milo as soon as I caved in, his raspy voice greeted me, “I miss you a lot.”
I can’t help but smile but just when I was about to go ahead, I looked back to the guy who I bumped to and shockingly, he was gone.
“Lindy?”
“Hello?”
I pulled myself out from my thoughts as soon as I heard Milo’s voice on the line again. My eyes kept wandering around the hallway and realized that all classes in this hall usually end at noon. I wonder where that guy went to and why he suddenly disappeared.
Griffin Carson.
Who is he?
