Chapter Five

Yoon Tae Oh's point of view

my mom swings her hand and it hit the back of head “Ah mom!” the whole table burst into laughter which makes me angry “I’m the Alpha of Seoul I keep telling you, you can’t hit my head like that” I said rubbing the back of my head

“Shut up!” she eyes me “You are first my son before you are an Alpha” she yells smacking me on the head again. I feel my vision blur for a second at the strength of this woman.

“Mom” I whine. I haven’t even sat down at the table before she attacked me

“Yes I’m your mother and I will hit you when you’re wrong” she said throwing a punch “You were smoking again weren’t you?”

I swallowed hard. s**t! I forgot that she was in my penthouse, although I loved to have my family and pack around I still like some privacy so I had the penthouse to myself and my family's house two floors below mine, Lisa and the other deltas had the floor just below mine. It’s a fifty story building filled with werewolves so yeah

“Answer me when I talk to you” she throws another punch “You were smoking again weren’t you?”

“I wasn’t” I lied, my ear twitching

“Wrong answer Son” my dad said, shaking his head as he gives my younger sister a set of chopsticks

“How can the Alpha of the pack be a liar?” she huffed “Yah! Yoon Tae Oh, I could smell it from the moment you brought out the cigar and hear the flicker of the lighter. How dare you lie to me” she throws another punch but this time it doesn’t hit me, Kim Jin Seok stood in front of me and took to punch in my stead

“Lady Yoon please calm down” he gives her his signature smile and she does calm down. My mom is a sucker for beautiful smile so am I. I guess I really am her son

“Jin Seokie i saved your ass this time" I cringe at the nickname my mom gave Jin seok, I swear she loves this boy more than her own son "I better not catch you smoking again” she eyes me then smiles to Kim Jin Seok “You should join us for lunch”

“Sure ma’am I will”

I eye him as he replied my mother “When did you come back from Russia?” I asked him trying not to show that I’ve missed him because I have. “Weren’t you supposed to spend six months, you barely spent four?” I asked sitting down.

I first met Kim Jin Seok in the summer ten years ago, after the council had rallied up the 12 people from each founding family that had the mark of the moon goddess and had us train for a two years before we had the final test. During those two years I got closer to Kim Jin Seok, Lisa and Han Tae Sul and I honestly thought that after the big test either Kim Jin Seok or Han Tae Sul would be the Alpha of Seoul. I was too goofy and not the brightest between the groups, no one ever thought I would be the Alpha and my choosing shocked the city so did my coronation, So much that Han Tae Sul who used to be my friend and brother in combat never accepted me as his Alpha and his position as a Delta that he decided to leave Seoul. He became a rogue wolf and I was hurt, I thought he was my friend and at least would stay but he didn’t. Kim Jin Seok, Lisa and the other four stayed with me as Deltas of the pack and friends. My mind often thinks back to Han Tae Sul and wonder if he had stayed and accepted me how everything would have been

“I just got back” Jin Seok sat down beside me “Lisa called me that you are getting out of control so I took the first flight back to Seoul”

I glare at Lisa who avoids my stare and focused on talking with my dad and little sister Yoon Sun Min instead “Out of control?” I huffed “Do I need to tattoo I am the freaking Alpha of Seoul and I can take care of myself on my forehead to get you guys to back off?”

He chuckles

He really chuckles then replies “It wouldn’t stay on. Our bodies heals up so fast no one would ever get the chance to see it”

I rolled my eyes “You are such a smarty pant are you?” I took the chop stick and dug into the meal my mother had prepared. It taste good, It taste better than good that I accidentally moan when the meal melt on my tongue

“This taste really delicious” I said to mom then smiled at Sun Min “Right Sun Min” she smiles and nods at me. My younger sister Sun Min was born ten years after me and was born mute. She is the most precious thing in this world to me and i would lay down my life to protect her, I just wish I could hear her talk, I wish I could hear what she sounded like, I just wished I could do anything to help her

“This is delicious Lady Yoon” Lisa said and I could see my mom blush

“Thank you I got a new recipe from the internet” She smiles “Anyways I kept some food in the warmer for your guest”

“Guest?” Both dad and Kim Jin seok turns to me with question in their faces

Oh! I totally forgot that mom was here when I brought the human in “Yeah, I guess he’s a guest” I shrug

“He?” Jin Seok asked

“Is he the one who smells funny?” Dad asked “Since I came in I smelt something really funny I can’t really place my finger on it”

I looked at Lisa who wasn’t sure if she could tell them that the funny smelling boy was a human. It’s still weird saying it I never thought in a million years I’ll have to even say anything about a human with my family

So weird

“By the way, what is he?” Mom asked “Gumiho?”

“No” I shook my head, setting down the chop stick “He is…”I touched my chin trying to figure out how to tell them without freaking them out

“He’s what? A banshee?” Dad asked “We’ve been getting a lot of them in the city these days”

“He is not a banshee dad” I shook my head “He’s human” I said slowly.

They paused, all looking at me and I can’t tell what they are thinking. I’m sure mom can tell what dad is thinking at the same since they are mates and already bonded but for the rest of us even Lisa who was shoving rice down her throat we didn’t have mates

Sun Min did a hand sign at me ‘Human? Are you joking? Have you become Lisa Noona?’

“He really is Human” I said “And No I’m not Lisa”

Lisa finally looks up her bowl “What do you mean?” she asked confused

“I think you stayed under the rain too much for someone who hates the rain” Mom said placing her hand on my forehead “But you’re not burning up” she tilt her head

I got her hands away from my forehead “I’m serious. When we came in didn’t you see he was bleeding red blood?”

“I didn’t see anything”

“Lady Yoon Tae Oh is not lying. That boy is really human” Lisa finally said.

Kim Jin Seok moved in closer to my ear making me flinch “Are you two playing prank on your parent?” he whispers

“No” I said out loud “Of course not, he bleeds red blood and doesn’t heal fast”

“Seeing is believing Tae Oh” dad said

These people really. I stood up hands in my pocket “Okay, come see for yourselves” I walked them to my bedroom and they all followed including Lisa.

I rested on the frame of my door, hands crossed around chest and watch them go closer to the human, it’s fascinating to see them have the same reaction as i. human shouldn’t exist but then there is one in my city, in my penthouse, laying unconscious on my bed. It feels like we are in some sort of movie but this is real life

‘Where did you get him from?’ Sun Min signed to me ‘did you buy him?’

“What No?” I frowned “Why would you think I bought him? Are we living in the 15th century? The hell”

“Where did you find him from then?” mom said poking his cheek

“We are looking for clues for the murder case at the Bukhan mountain and found him..”

“Wait Murder case?” Jin seok asked

“Lisa will fill you in what has been going on for the past three months” I said to Jin Seok “Anyways I didn’t buy him. I’m only keeping him here because he might have something to do with the case and if he doesn’t he is special, he could have information that we might need” I took out my phone and walked close to the human and took a picture. Then sent it to Jin Seok’s phone “Can you take this to Shin Hye and ask her run scans on his face, maybe he’ll be in the system”

“Tae oh he just arrived from Russia don’t you think he’ll be a little jet lagged for that?” Lisa said

“It’s fine. I’m fine” Jin Seok smiles

“You see he’s fine”

Lisa rolls her eyes at me before walking closer to me and whisper “You think Shin Hye would find the human in the system?”

“Yeah I mean I passed a bill that everyone who ever steps foot in Seoul be registered in the system for a reason” I whisper “He didn’t fall from heaven, even if he was smuggled here he’ll have to pass security first. Facial recognition is important and we can find if he came here with someone or if he was alone and how long he has been in the Seoul”

“What If it’s been as long as three months?”

“Then that makes him a murder suspect. I mean he was found already at the scene of the crime” I paused then thought for a moment “Technically we don’t know where the scene of the crime exactly is but you get the point”

“Yeah I do” Lisa nods “But if he isn’t found in the system?”

“That must mean he was smuggled here which means Jin Seok would have to pay a visit to Junny” I frowned hoping it doesn’t have to come to that

I hate to send Kim Jin Seok to Junny but the gumiho kind of have all the information that’s the only reason I haven’t had him kicked out of Seoul despite all his underground business.

“Uhm, I don’t know what exactly is going on but why are we whispering?” he ask

“Yeah why are you guys whispering?” My dad asked. We turned around to see him, my mom and Sun Mi staring at us “You do know we can hear you right?”

Mom shook her head and holds my sister’s hand “When I served under the previous Alpha we were badass at keeping secret. If you three are trying to do that you’re failing terrible”

Jin Seok chuckled “We have a lot to learn”

Mom laughed, then she Dad and Sun Min took one last look at the human “You should report him to the Council” mom said “They need to know about him” I nod my head, she is right, I needed to tell the council about this

“I will” I replied and watched my family leave my room

“I should get going so I can meet Shin Hye” Kim Jin Seok said

“I’m coming with you” Lisa said then stretches her hands towards me like she wanted something

“What?” I questioned confused

“You should at least send us off with a car dear Alpha” her voice is awfully laced with sarcasm that it makes me scrunch my nose at her

“You have your own cars” I said “I am not sitting in the company running business and making money to give you my car just cause you asked Lisa”

“Just hand over a car Yoon Tae oh you have plenty of it or do I have to bat an eye and call you oppa first before you do”

(Oppa is a Korean word meaning big brother or in some cases it means boyfriend)

“Eww no. I am not your oppa take any car you want and you seriously need to find your mate and stop hitting up on everyone”

“Says the Alpha without a Luna” she sing song as she walks towards the exist

“I hate you”

“The feeling is mutual”

Jin Seok laughs “You two really” he shook his head “Are you going somewhere?” he asks gesturing at my suit

“Ah Yes” I sighed “I have to go pay homage to the third deceased werewolf in three month” I said referring to Lord Min’s granddaughter. I know I can’t bring her back to life, no one can but I hope showing my presence at least will cause some sort of comfort to the family
