Chapter 9 By the time Nikki gave them another break at two, Vic’s head was throbbing. His face felt feverish, hot, his skin too tight, his bones brittle. Sweat rolled down the back of his neck. Was he coming down with something? Where would he have caught it, anyway? Someone touched his shoulder. “Hey, big guy, you okay?” Kyle. Vic pulled away with a grunt.
