Chapter 8 By two in the afternoon, Matt wished he had taken Vic up on the suggestion of staying at home all day. The early morning water workout canceled because the instructor called in sick, and Becky’s mid-morning class turned out to be nothing more than showing up and handing in a paper, so she was at the pool before eleven. Besides, the only people who came to the gym that early were a pair of swimmers who liked to race each other for exercise and a noontime “Mommy and Me” playtime.
