CHAPTER 3 DARREN POV Finally, I had gotten rid of that pesky woman out of sight and I could focus on my drink. I reached for the bottle and took it close to my lips but the mood was ruined. I placed it back down and then slammed my fist on the table. "How dare that thief touch my drink." But she was the least of my worries at the moment. I needed to please Grandfather and I needed to do it quickly so he'd stop giving me headaches with his constant complaints. Today he had taken it too far and threatened me with the company. I ran a hand through my hair in frustration and just then a bouncer in the bar rushed over to me and informed me of the destruction done on my car. I quickly rushed out and behold, my car's windscreen was broken. I quickly got a hold of my car's dash cam and I found out who the culprit was. "What woman!" I shouted angrily but at that moment, an incredible idea popped into my head and I found the solution to my problem. CAMILA POV My eyes fluttered and opened but immediately shut them back once the sun ray almost blinded me. I rolled over and then took a pillow to cover my head. I tried to go back to sleep but at the moment was when my alarm decided to go off. I sighed and dropped the pillow. "It's time to get ready and work," I said out loud. I was already exhausted even though I just woke up but I didn't let that make me lazy. I dragged my ass out of bed and to the shower. I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth, which I didn't get to do yesterday, and then dressed up for my waitressing job at Louise's cafe. Once I was out of the bathroom, I looked over to the bed across mine and realized it was empty and still made. "Maya must have worked overtime." Poor Maya, she has been sleeping out often these days and yet she's still not making enough. I went over to the kitchen and placed two slices of bread in the toaster then got jam from the fridge. I placed it on the table and then made myself some fresh orange juice, I needed the vitamins from fresh oranges. I prepared my breakfast and ate in a hurry, I was getting late for my job. I took my phone from the vanity table and then got a glimpse of how messy my hair was. I tied it up in a high ponytail without brushing my hair and dashed out the door. While locking the door, I noticed my mail lying on the floor. I picked it up and checked it. All were billing and overdue payments, one was from my design school and I sighed thinking I needed to get an advance p*****t so I could pay for the course until the harsh reality dawned on me. My legs gave way and I collapsed to the ground. My heart sank to the bottomless pit and I stared back at the p*****t notice for the design school. "I forgot I lost my job!" I placed a hand over my mouth as I gasped. My hands began shaking as I began panicking. "Where am I going to get money to pay now?" A sudden headache appeared and I unlocked my door and crawled back into my apartment. I crawled to my bed, I carried a pillow, and I used it to cover my mouth, muffling my voice as I let out a scream. I raised my head, "No, no, no, no!" I shouted. "This can't be happening!" I can't believe I forgot I lost two jobs yesterday because of a devil and I had to vandalize his car from the anger I felt. The vandalism was the least of my concerns though. My major concerns were the bills I had to pay! Especially my design school, I had to pay within this week or else I'd be expelled. I tried to think of a job I could do that I'll be able to get the amount of money I needed but the more I thought about it, the more I realized such a job didn't exist unless I robbed a bank or store or I sold myself out, which are all a no-no. I will never do that no matter how desperate I am. I face-palmed myself and groaned. I rolled around the bed in frustration. I could take up another job as a waitress but which restaurant would pay me an advance in the first month I started working with them and an amount that big. Damnit! That man really messed up my life! He ruined everything all in a span of five hours max. At that moment, I was finally curious about who he was. I prayed earnestly that a solution should come knocking at the door. I really needed a miracle to solve my situation and at that moment, a knock did come at the door. I quickly opened it without first checking who it was and my eyes met with a familiar pair of blaring green eyes. My eyes widened in shock and a gasp escaped my lips. Those were the same evil eyes I saw yesterday that caused me the troubles I was having today. The devil himself was at my doorstep. With a suit, tie, and a devilish smirk on his face. "So this is where you live, for a thief I thought you'd be in a place more decent." He commented as he surveyed my apartment from where he stood. Those green eyes then rested on me, "Aren't you going to let me in?" "The devil is requesting to enter my house? Now why would I allow that?" With that, I shut the door right on his face. I placed a hand on my chest, I had realized just then that my heart was racing. How did he know where I lived?
