May said she was having a girl’s night out so it was just us at home. The last time was too awkward to remember so we invited a few of our friends for a boys night. We were planning to binge one piece and play games all night, drink a few beers and all.
Since telling my friends about my relationship with May and Max, I’ve honestly lost a few friends that meant a lot to me. I soon remembered I was a lot like that before meeting May, close minded and traditional. It’s not like I fully got over the pain, I just accepted it and moved on.
As for Max, I don’t think he had a lot of friends in the first place. He became even lonelier after we started living with May, which is why we were scared of leaving him at home. He worries us a lot but when we come back home, he looks fine, preparing dinner and taking care of us.
The doorbell rings and I open the door. My friends, Gary and Leo are standing there, Gary holding a pack of beers and Leo holding take out.
“Hey guys. There really was no need Leo, Max made dinner”
“If I didn’t bring something, I’d feel uncomfortable” Leo said, scratching the back of his neck.
“It’s fine. We can keep it in the fridge for later. Max’s in the study live streaming so he says we can start without him” I say, collecting the food and beers. I let them in and seat them in the couch after which I put things in the fridge. My back pocket vibrates and I check it. It’s a message from May with a picture. She was at a …..stripclub? What the actual hell? I didn’t even have time to complain before I heard Max’s scream from upstairs.
“Kevin, get the car! We’re getting that girl back!”
“Calm down. She’ll be fine. If you’re done, come down here. Gary and Leo are here”
“I’m not done. I’ll be there soon. Hey Gary, Leo!”
“Hey!” my friends shout back awkwardly.
“Kevin?”
“Mmh?”
“Can we watch Max’s livestream?” Leo asks.
“Yeah but why?”
“I just want to see his god-level skills. I’ve heard about them so I’m curious”
“Sure but don’t fall for him or something. He’s engaged to me and May”
“Wow, you’re so possessive”
Using the remote, I switch our smart tv to the app he uses to live stream. I enter his room and we start watching the livestream. The game had started for a while and gifts, chats and commentaries were flowing around the screen. They could see Max’s face at the corner of the screen as he played. His face when he was concentrating was adorable.
After watching for a while, we see it’s a decimation. Max is butchering anyone in his way, friend or foe. Even the chat room has quiet down a bit, just asking the same question.

Max happened to see that last comment and he glares at the screen, giving a middle finger. I laugh nervously, looking at the stairs.
“Kevin, is Max mad?” Gary asks, looking at me.
“Maybe a bit. May just send a picture of herself in a strip club. He’s not too happy about it”
“Yikes. But, it feels really good to see him dominate the field, just playing however he likes. That’s skills right there. Look at Leo, he’s already drooling”
“I tell him not to fall for my fiance and look at what happens. He’s hopeless”
“Yeah. I think Max is almost done”
I nod, looking at the screen. Max wraps up the game and leaves his livestream in a huff. He walks to the fridge, takes out a can of beer, opens it and totally downs the content.
