Reluctant Mate

My Luna

Ashton's POV

I concerned myself a nice guy and never really wanted to cause anyone harm unless I was defending my Alpha or fighting. But as I watched my Luna climb the stairs with her head held low I could feel how hurt she. How dare Killian talk and treat his own mate like this. It is my job to not only protect the pack and the Alpha but also our Luna. I could tell what Killian said hurt her. I had stepped between them when I saw the rage in Killian's eyes.

I had tried to warn Killian over the years that Lyla was no good, that she wanted to be his Luna but he never did listen. He always would say was fine with everything. I even asked on our way home what he was planning to about his situation and he didn't answer and now he was having Lyla move into the pool house. What the hell was he thinking?

Charlie stopped at the top of the stairs and looked at me. I stepped in front of her, " This in your floor Luna. No one will bother you unless you want them to bother you. The master bedroom is the last on down the hall. My room is at the bottom of the stairs next to the Alphas."

All she did was nod at me. I told her I would bring her something to eat as she walked toward the door. I watched her as she stepped into her room and close the door. I stood at the top of the stairs for a minute before heading back down. I went to take a step and I heard sobbing coming from the Luna's room. I hated to hear females crying but it hurt more to know that it was my Luna was crying and that it was Killian who caused her tears. I saw red when I heard plead to the Moon Goddess to end her life. I ran down the stairs and went in search of Killian. I sniffed the air and caught his scent in the woods. I shifted and took off after him.

It took me less than 5 minutes to find him. He was in his usual brooding spot up on the bluff. I shifted back to my human form, " WHAT THE f**k KILL?"

I sat next to him and waited for his response. 

Killian:" Don't use that tine with me pup."

Me:" I will use what every tone I please. You are asking for issues by moving in that piece of tail in to the same house as my Luna. By the way in case you didn't know she is in her room sobbing and asking the Moon Goddess to take her life just to be rid of you."

As I said those words to Killian he dropped his head in shame. Good I hope he felt like s**t for what he was doing to Charlie. I looked at him again, " You were given this beautiful mate to be our Luna and yet instead of being faithful you are moving in your side piece. I know you so well Kill that I can tell you how this is going to go. The pack is going to fall head over heels in love with Charlie and when they find out how you are hurting their Luna they will demand your blood or the banishment of Lyla."

Killian growled and lunged at me. He had me pinned to the ground, " Of course they will love their Luna and as for Lyla they will never know. It is your job to protect me and you will help keep this s**t secret or else!"

i pushed him off me and was about to strike at him when we heard a yell for help. Fight forgotten we took off trying to find where the call for help was coming from. After a few seconds we found a young girl half clothed covered in dirt and beaten at the edge of our border. I picked up the girl and carried her back to the house. I just entered through the kitchen when I saw Charlie running toward us. Her face was tear streaked her hair a mess but she had changed into a pair of shorts and a tank top that hugged her breast. She looked at the woman in my arms, " Bring her to my room and summon the doctor now."

We heard the kitchen door closed and I saw her tensed up and I knew that Killian was behind me. She looked down at the girl again and led us up stairs. to her room. She had me place the girl on her bed and told me to fetch her warm water and wash clothes. When I came back into her room from her bathroom she had yelled at Killian to go get the doctor. She came back to the bed and started to wash the dirt of the girl. The girl have opened her eyes, " Luna Charlie I found you."

The girl passed back out. How did this girl know my Luna.
