Chapter ten

When we finally made it back to the pack house the sun was just begining to set over the horizon, painting the sky with deep purple, pink and black like blue. Even with the darkness of the setting sun I could see and only assume Gabriel had let them know ahead of time that we were close and that I found my mate. Because when we pulled up it looked like the entire pack was waiting on us. "Gabriel, What did you do?" I asked with a small laugh. Gabriel turned to me smiling and shrugged. Before I could say anything else he was out of the car and facing the pack. I shook my head amused at the Alpha's antics, sometimes he could be so carefree.  Klaus however was looking out the window, his energy telling me he was concerned, frightened and reluctant. "Hey, look at me." I whispered as I gently pulled him to face me. "Everything will be alright." I promised. "They will love you and accept you just as I do. And if anyone had a problem with you, I can take them with my hands tied behind my back. I am the strongest warrior in our pack." I mused. Klaus shook his head and chuckled as he pulled me into his arms. "You truly are one amazing and unique alpha." He told me.  "Come on." I urged as I pulled him from the car behind me. As we rounded the car to face the pack, I swear I saw every jaw that was visible drop. The women in the pack's eyes all but bulged out of their head as they took in all seven foot of my mate. Their stares however made my possessive side surge forward along with Jade and we growled, our eyes turning red. "If you know what's good for you, you'll drop your lust filled gazed elsewhere." All eyes turned to me then and everyone stumbled away from me. "Calm my love." Klaus urged squeezing my hand. "My eyes and love belong to you alone." he assured.  His words soothed Jade and she retreated back and began pacing in the back of mind. She stayed alert, lying in wait for one female who may have the nerve to touch him, then she'd rip her arm off. "Jade, I can't calm if you can't." I told her. "Klaus is already nervous, we are just making it worse." She growled lowly but curled up into her sleeping position. "If anyone touches him, punish them." She told me firmly. I agreed with her, leaving her content for now.  "This is Klaus. He is my mate and I expect him to be treated with the upmost respect. He is an Alpha and has permission to punish any who dares disrespect him or challenge him. And if any females dare touch him you will deal with me and my wolf, and I promise that is not something you want." I warned. All heads bowed in submission. "Yes ma'am." They answered in unison. "Now that that's settled there will be a banquet tomorrow evening, in honor of our dearly loved Willow and her mate. At this banquet Willow has decided she wanted to share her wolf with us along with her title." Gabriel said, a whole hell of a lot nicer than I had been.  "Omega's!" Gabriel called. In no time at all around 75 omega's made their way in front of him, bowing their heads to their feet in submission. "Yes, Alpha?" The replied. It was kind of creepy how they always managed to speak in unison. It's like they planned this ahead of time just to get under my skin. "With the help of the kitchen staff, I need you to help decorate and set up for the banquet. I will also need you to serve the pack. Of course you all may eat and enjoy the festivities as well." He assured them. Their eyes snapped to him and shinned bright with enthusiasm.  We haven't held a banquet, bbq, ball or anything really since Landon showed no signs of being a true Alpha, Gabriel was too ashamed of him. Now that he was gone, he had no reservations of celebrating with his pack and even when we did Luna Bella never allowed the Omega's to join, saying they were too weak to mingle with the stronger members. This always angered me but Gabriel always reluctantly agreed wanting to please his mate. "Alpha, if I may." Beta Travis said bowing his head. "But the pack was wondering what happened with the Luna and Landon. Some men came and dragged them away kicking a screaming. Gamma Adam went with them." Gabriel's eyes darkened with anger and heart wrenching sorrow. With a heavy heart I placed my hand softly on his shoulder. "Go on inside, I'll let them know." I said soothingly. "Thank you Willow. You are an amazing daughter." He whispered as he embraced me briefly before making his way inside. With a deep sigh I face the growing crowd of wolves. "Luna Bella betray her mate. She slept with Gamma Adam. The ending result was Landon. Yes you heard me correctly, Landon is not Gabriel's true son which is why we assume he is so weak and pathetic. This however in no way changes anything, you'll still show our Alpha respect and let him mourn the loss of his mate. Am I clear?" I bellowed to the crowd. "Yes." Was their resounding answer. I waved them off quickly, telling them to return home.  "Come on Klaus. This wolf needs some food before her mood hits murderous." I told him tightly. And it was true, whenever I got hungry my mood went from my annoyingly cocky and self assured self to angry and ready to tear someones throat in two seconds flat. "Willow!" I heard my best friend Damon yell behind me. "Not now. Food." My voice was strained as I kept walking, dragging a confused Klaus behind me.  "Don't worry man." Damon said clapping Klaus on the shoulder. "She gets cranky when she's hungry." He said laughing. That earned him a growl that started deep in my throat. Damon only laughed harder swiping his hand towards me. "See? What I tell ya?" He said amused. "Shut up Damon." I hissed. Klaus clearly not knowing my relationship with Damon narrowed his eyes at him and his chest rumbled with a growl. "Klaus, don't. He's my best friend." I informed him. "He is the only one brave enough to be my friend." Memories of others trying to befriend me flitted across my mind. None of them had been able to stand or be around my power and dominance for too long and managed to crawl their way back into their own little lives. Not that I cared, but it would be nice to have a female friend every so often to talk to and spend time with. Loneliness didn't creep into me like I expected, instead I got a sense of calm wash over me. I had my mate, Damon, and Gabriel. All of which I loved and was eternally grateful for.
