Chapter 30

We were leaving for Klaus's home today and I was nervous as hell. I have never had to meet someone's parents before and meeting the mother of my other half had me sweating. I knew I had nothing to worry about, at least from what Klaus and Nicholas has told me. It seems she is excited to meet me. Still I heaved a heavy sigh as I made my way down stairs to meet with Klaus, Lyra, Hunter and my betas and gammas.  "Mason, Damon, Amelia." I called as I reached the ground floor. They each rushed to me and bowed their heads. "Yes Alpha." They said in unison. "You and the others are responsible for the pack while I am gone. If anything, and I mean anything is out of place or wrong when I get back there will be hell to pay. Klaus and I have worked too hard to have it destroyed."  Their eyes widened as they looked between each other. They visibly gulped before nodding. "Good, now that we understand each other, we will be back within two weeks. We won't be gone long." I turned to my family and opened a portal, and all as one we stepped through.  Klaus's home was beautiful. Their clan occupied an entire mountain where they have settled at the very top. It made sense since they were dragons, it made for ideal launch pad for their dragons. Somehow through the settling the natural surroundings stayed intact. It was as if they had managed to build only where gaps naturally fell within the forest.  "Klaus!" I heard someone shout as we made our way to what looked to be the largest house in the clan. I turned just in time to see a woman jump into his arms. What surprised me even more was he actually hugged her back. Oh, my blood was boiling. I watched as Lyra and Hunter noticed the change in my energy and quickly backed away from Klaus.  Once they were a safe distance away Jade made herself known, and she was mad. she lowered herself to the ground and snarled. Saliva dripped off her fangs as she circled the two of them like they were her pray. Her focus was entirely on the girl who thought she could touch what wasn't hers to touch.  Jade growled, her anger growing as the woman clutched tighter onto Klaus. "Get away from my mate." I snarled in the girls mind. Her eyes widened and her grip on Klaus tightened. Eve, Emerald and Ezekiel were all now furious. "NOW!" We all commanded her. The girl fell to her knees, clutched her head and screamed. I knew the pressure of having us all speak into her mind would hurt her but I didn't care.  When she let go of Klaus Jade made her move. She aggressively took the girls entire upper body into her jaws and threw her away from him. "Willow, stop and listen." Klaus pleaded. Jade just growled and snapped at him. He was far from innocent on all of this and she made that known to him quickly. He raised his hands in front of him in surrender as he shook his head in disappointment.  That look, the look of disappointment and fear that crossed my mates face got through to me. Jade whined as she shrank back and gave control back to me. "Stop being such a wimp." Ezekiel scorned. "It is his fault as well as hers. Make him see that." I knew he was right and I stood my ground as I faced him. "Explain." I demanded narrowing my eyes at him.  "You want the truth?" He asked hesitantly. "No Klaus, I want you to lie to me." I said rolling my eyes. "Her name is Dawn. She was my intended before I met you." I vibrated with anger. How dare he touch her in front of me? How dare he touch her period? And her, oh she had some nerve approaching him in front of me. "This isn't over." I warned him before turning to a now angry female dragon. "He's mine you little whore." She roared.  I laughed darkly. "Oh really? Then why is his mark on me? Why is he with me and not you?" I goaded. She roared and shifted into the puniest dragon I had ever seen. Jade was bigger than she was, and Eve? Well Eve would tower over this lizard.  I couldn't help but laugh. I was in full hysterics as I looked at her. "Wait, wait wait." I said between laughs. "You're a dragon? You look more like an overgrown lizard." I bellowed. I heard snickers around me but I didn't pay them much attention. Her dragon roared her rage however. "Eve? You wan to play?" I asked. "Oh, I would love to. Let's bat this lizard around a bit." I laughed and gave full control over to her. She quickly shifted into her massive lycan form and growled. The dragon watched her as she shifted and grew to where she towered over the tiny dragon. She couldn't have been more than seven maybe eight foot high. Through her fear the dragon swiftly turned and lashed her tail out at Eve. Eve just laughed as she caught the dragon's tail mid swing. She thrashed in Eve's hold but Eve's grip only tightened.  Eve then decided to test the flying skills of the dragon. With one strong motion of her arm, Eve threw the dragon. She flew head over tail countless times before she was stopped by a large tree occupying the clan grounds. When she moved a little but didn't get up Eve handed control back over to me and I made my way over to her.  I was more than aware of all the people watching us in fascination and anticipation. I shrugged them all off as I stood over this woman called Dawn. I lifted her by the collar of her shirt so she was eye to eye with me. "If you ever, and I mean ever touch, talk to or even look at my mate, I'll end you. Are we clear?" I said with venom. Hatred shown in her eyes but she nodded. "Good. Now scurry away like the salamander you are." I said, and tossed her to the ground.  When I turned I noticed that at least half the clan was here watching. Some with shock, some in awe, then there was respect, admiration, affection, surprise. So many emotions swirled around us it was dizzying. "Well, it seems you didn't waste any time in making your presence known." Nicholas said with a smirk. "I apologize for my rude entrance Nicholas, but it seems your clan member had a small issue with keeping her hands to herself and not touching someone who does not belong to them." I informed him.  "Glad to see it's been taken care of." He said with a bow of his head. I tilted my head to him as a show of mutual respect between us two alpha's. "Now, who are these two lovely children?" Nicholas asked as he reached down and picked Hunter up. "This is Lyra." I said pulling her to my side. "And the little one in your arms in Hunter. They were both rescued after being kidnapped from their packs. Since their packs and family was killed Klaus and I have adopted them. There were many others among them that pack members have adopted."  Anger crossed Nicholas's face. "You mean to tell me these kids were kidnapped and their family killed? All of their family?" I nodded in confusion. "How many others were there?" He asked in a clipped tone. I looked over to Klaus who shrugged before turning back to Nicholas. "We didn't get an exact count, but a little more than one hundred were saved." I told him.  "Children. These are children, not something to take and throw away later, not something to use and then get rid of. Where are these monsters?" He commanded. My hackles raised at his tone. "Dead." I said flatly. "And unless you can control your tone with me I suggest you not address me." His eyes widened as if he jut realized who he was speaking to. "My apologies goddess." He said much calmer now.  I massaged my temples and sighed. "They were all taken care of Nicholas. There are other rouge groups out there k********g kids to use in the coming war. Not just werewolves, but all supernatural children are being targeted." I warned him. His eyes hardened once again. "Let them try." He growled.  Klaus put his arm around my waist but I shoved him away. "Don't think that just because your father showed up means that what you did was ok." I bit out. "I've known her my whole life Willow." He sighed. I just scoffed. "You think I care?" I snapped. "She was meant to be your wife." I growled. "When you find your mate, you don't just hug another woman, especially one to whom you were to be married. That was not and is not ok Klaus."  I grabbed Lyra's hand and held my other out to Hunter who eagerly jumped into my waiting arms. "Klaus! Did I not teach you any better?" A woman's voice scolded from behind Nicholas. Nicholas and Klaus's body stiffened as the woman rounded Nicholas and faced us. "I am sorry for my sons behavior." She apologized. "He knows better than to test the mate bond. An alpha female can be just as possessive if not more so than a male alpha. And with you not only being an alpha but a goddess, your possessiveness will be much more aggressive." She said as she approached me. "Hello Willow, my name is Katherine. I am Klaus's mother. It is a pleasure and an honor to finally meet you." She said.  I smiled warmly. "Like wise." I said, just as Hunter jumped out of my arms and into Katherine's. "Gammy!" He shouted. Gammy? I laughed internally, she looked like she could be his sister not his grandmother. "Well hello there child." She said with a chuckle. "You must be Hunter, my new grandson. And you." She said turning to Lyra "Must be Lyra, my granddaughter. It gives me such joy to add you to the family." She said with a genuine smile. I was elated that they approved of them, and was more than anticipating the next few days in Klaus's home.
