Chapter eight

Klaus went back to his room to get his things while Gabriel and I went to ours. I tried to study Gabriel, to get some kind of inkling of how he was feeling, but for the first time, I got nothing. His face was impassive and eyes hard. "Gabriel, are you alright?" I asked hesitantly. He looked over to me, his eyes softening. "Yes Willow, I'm alright." He assured me. I nodded, but I knew what he said wasn't true. His voice was full of pain.  When we got to our room and closed the door, Gabriel wrapped me in a tight hug. "Thank you Willow, for everything you did for me in there. No one ever dares go against the elder council, but you fearlessly stood before them, even threatened their lives just to save mine. I could never ask for a better daughter." His words brought tears to my eyes and I squeezed him tight. "You may not be my father by blood, but you are my father all the same and I refuse to loose another father."  I pulled away from him and smiled. He kissed my forehead. "Go pack your things, we will meet Klaus outside and we are leaving, I don't want to stay here any longer than necessary." I quickly agreed and rushed to my room throwing my belongings in my bag haphazardly. I could care less how my bag looked as long as I got Gabriel away from those power hungry old farts.  We got done rather quickly and made our way downstairs, meeting the elders as they made their way out the door. I made sure to keep myself in between them and Gabriel, not giving them even an ounce of trust. "Willow." Nicholas called. "I am truly sorry for the misunderstanding that was made in the council chambers today. We were not made aware of the Luna's infidelity until you brought it to our attention which I am grateful for. Gabriel is a strong and worthy alpha, even more worthy than believed since he  raised such a strong and dominant daughter."  I sighed, might as well at least try and make nice with him, he is my mate's father after all. "Thank you for your apology alpha Nicholas, it is truly appreciated. And yes my father is a great man, there is no one I hold in higher regard than him." Nicholas nodded and we made small talk as we walked out of the building together.  "Stop." I whisper yelled. Everyone stopped in their tracks and looked over to me, confusion crossing their features. I didn't answer, I bulldozed my way to the front of the group, I could feel Klaus at my heels. Opening the door I snarled at the two intruders, whose eyes went wide. "What do you want rouges?" I demanded. They backed up a few paces as everyone crowded around me. "Give us the alpha and none of you get hurt." The larger man stated firmly. I crossed my arms and scoffed. "Where you born dense or is it a chosen trait?" I asked bored.  The man growled but I just laughed. "Dude, have you not noticed there are at least a dozen alphas here? You're going to have to be a bit more specific on which alpha you want." I stated, completely and utterly done with this rouge. "We want Gabriel." That was all I needed to hear for me to step in front of Gabriel and growl harshly. "Touch him and you die." I warned. They actually had the audacity to laugh. "And what is a female like you going to do?" He mused. "This female as you so put it has killed countless amounts of rouges without hesitation. Has survived and won being ambushed by more than 10 rouges wolves, the two of you would take nothing more than a flip of my wrist."  "Oh really?" they laughed and took a step forward. Jade surged to the surface my claws and jaw elongated. "Before I kill you, I have one question. Did either of you have anything to do with the s*******r of the Silver pack?" They gave each other a knowing look before turning back to me smiling. "Oh yes we remember them quite well. Put up one hell of a fight. But alpha Elijah had something we wanted, I still remember the so called alpha's screams as I tore into his chest." He chuckled darkly.  I saw red, nothing and no one could stand in my way now that I found the men who killed my father. I closed the distance between us in a flash. I round house kicked the first man sending him flying across the lawn. Then before the man could blink I had him lifted into the air by his throat. He thrashed and clawed at my hands trying to get free, but I had no intention of letting him go. "Willow don't." Gabriel pleaded. I snapped my head back towards him causing all of them to step back as wide eyed fear crossed everyone's face except Klaus's. "This man attacked my pack, slaughtered countless innocent lives, murdered my father. And you expect me to let him live?" I seethed.  This was the first time I have ever spoke to Gabriel with such disrespect and in my anger I didn't care. "No Willow, I fully expect you to kill him. I am asking you not to reveal yourself." He said taking a step towards me. I turned back to the rouges "You deserve to suffer a thousand deaths for what you've done, but you're lucky I don't have time." I then shoved my claws through his chest and pulled out his heart. Tossing his lifeless body across the lawn and into the other rouge I growled. "Let this be a warning. If anyone comes after any of the people I love they will meet the same fate."  The rouge nodded and taking one last look at his dead friend ran. My body was trembling with rage, I was trying so hard to calm myself but nothing seemed to help. When a pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist and the calming sent of musk and brimstone filled my nostrils I sagged into his arms. Tingles coursed through my body like wild fire as it soothed me. "I am sorry that you lost your family in such a way." He murmured. I turned in his arms and wrapped mine around his midsection, seeing as that was all I could reach. "Thank you Klaus."  I stepped out of his arms and faced Gabriel. "Gabriel, I am sorry for how I spoke to you." I whispered. He engulfed me in his arms "It's alright little one." He whispered. "Gabriel, I can't keep hiding like this. Jade wants out, she wants people to know who she is. She wants to take her birthright." I told him. He pulled away and met my eyes. "Are you sure?" I nodded at him, Jade was more than ready to make herself known.  Facing the elders I took a deep breath. "You all are so curious to know who I am, I will tell you. Under one condition. I need help taking my pack back, the Silver pack." I specified. "Why would you need to do that?" The elder, I was assuming was werewolf stepped forward and asked. "Agree and I will tell you." I stated flatly. They whispered among themselves for a few minutes before turning back to me. "We agree to your terms." Nicholas informed me.  Reaching out I grasped Klaus's hand. "I am Willow Silverclaw. Natural born daughter of Alpha Elijah." They all gasped as this new information came to light. "How is that possible? There has never been a natural alpha female." I shook my head at them. "That's not all." All heads faced me as I stepped away from Klaus and closed my eyes. "It's your time to shine Jade." I said smiling. "Finally." she yelled happily. I then shifted into my black wolf. I towered over Klaus's seven foot height as he looked up at me with awe.  I nuzzled my large snout into his chest as a purr rumbled in my chest. "You're magnificent." Klaus exclaimed. "She is wonderful." Nicholas said from behind Klaus. I looked up to him and slowly approached him. When I was confidant he was not fearful, I sat back on my haunches and let them look at me. They all rounded me, taking my massive form in before once again congregating in front of me. "How long have you kept this hidden?" He asked me. I knew of my power so I forced my thoughts into his mind. "I first shifted when I was five years old."  Nicholas's mouth fell open. "How did you do that?" He gasped. "I have many talents." Was all I said. Shifting back, with my clothes fully intact I faced them. "Now that you've gotten what you wanted, I expect warriors from each of your packs or clans to convene at the Red Moon pack within the next three months. I and my wolf would like to take our birthright back." They nodded, rendered speechless. Grabbing Klaus's hand once again I turned to Gabriel. "Let's go home."
