● Chapter Three ●
WHEN I walked into school that next day, my eyes were roaming around the halls, trying to find either Toni or Jason among the crowd.
They kept blowing my phone up last night after I took it in me into not replying back about their conversation of Mr. Giordano, or as he asked me to call him outside of school, Alejandro.
It wasn't the fact that I didn't want to talk about the new arrival of our town taking in the fact that he's hot, I don't want people to think that I'm just like every other girl in town that has a crush on the new teacher even if I think he's attractive.
I was the mayor's daughter. If word got out that I fancied the new high school's chemistry teacher, it could ruin my dad's career and image that he's set up and I don't want that. Especially since I don't have any sort of feelings towards the dude beside I find him attractive. He's not Cole Sprouse so I see no need into having a crush on him.
"Gosh, I wouldn't mind having a piece of him." Madilyn Finch, a girl in my English class says to a girl as I walk past her with a laugh. "Mr. Giordano can melt my butter all he wants."
I roll my eyes pushing my black thick-framed glasses up my nose as I near my locker. I dial the combination, the voices in the hallway getting louder and louder as more students pile in.
"I hope Mr. Giordano notices the new top that I'm wearing. I bought it just for him."
I look over to my left, my eyes locking over on two girls standing near the bathrooms talking rather loudly. The one who was wearing her new top was applying an extra set of lip gloss on her already glossy lips, making it go out towards her skin and overlapping it.
"Really? I thought you bought it for Aaron Michaels?"
"Nope. That ship has sailed. I've got my eyes on the new chemistry teacher."
I slam my locker shut, the metal echoing in the halls but no one notices besides the two girls standing near the bathrooms. They both shoot me a glare before rolling their eyes.
"What are you a staring at Ariana?" Rachel, the new top chick snaps at me. "This is a private conversation between me and Harper."
"She's just jealous that Mr. Giordano will want to sleep with you and not her," Harper exclaims making me shake my head in disbelief.
As if I would want to sleep with my teacher. It's illegal and so wrong on so many levels.
I scoff as I walk past the two, their faces burning into the back of my head as I continue my way to homeroom which I sadly had with them. No doubt they'll be talking about him and making snarky remarks towards me. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised that they threatened me for listening to their quote on quote, "private conversation."
If they really wanted to have their conversation "private" they shouldn't be having it in the middle of the hallway where another student could hear or another faculty member could. It's common sense, something Rachel and Harper both lack.
I enter homeroom two minutes later, a sigh of relief escaping as my eyes land on Jason who was sitting in his usual seat in the middle of the class looking down at his phone.
"My god, you will not believe what I had to witness with Rachel Adams and Harper Wren," I say taking the empty seat next to him dramatically falling into the chair.
"Let me guess, Rachel, accused you of breaking her nail today when she was changing her weave?" Jason smirked looking up from his phone making me laugh.
"No, though she did accuse me of listening to a "private" conversation when she was speaking rather loudly," I say putting air quotes when I say privately.
"Oh no! How dare she accuse you of doing such a thing!" Jason gasps in mock horror placing a hand over his heart.
I roll my eyes and lean into my chair shaking my head. "They're honestly so dumb. If they wanted to have a private conversation they shouldn't be doing it out in the open where all could hear."
Jason shrugs his shoulders looking back down at his phone. "Maybe they wanted people to hear so that they could start a rumor."
"What could that rumor possibly be?" I scoff taking my phone out from my back pocket, Tom Hollands face greeting me as I put my thumb over the home button.
"Maybe that they were f*****g the new teacher?"
I shudder at that thought and shook my head. Rachel and Harper may be idiots, but I highly doubt that they were stupid enough to actually sleep with a teacher when it was against the law, and I highly doubt that Mr. Giordano was dumb enough to sleep with a student. He probably had a hot supermodel girlfriend with the way he looks it wouldn't surprise me.
"I think Mr. Giordano has standards, Jason." I say shaking my head.
Jason doesn't get to say anything as the teacher walks in ushering for us to stop talking and put our cell phones away. I frowned as I put my phone away. I was just about to begin my book but she had to walk in and demand us to put this away. She technically isn't even my teacher, she just watches us and allows us to do our homework in different classes, she doesn't even teach us. This is basically a study hall.
Jason notices my frown and laughs and pokes my cheek with the tip of his pencil making me jump and shoot him a glare while I rub at the spot that he poked me with. "Jason, you have to poke with the eraser." I snap as he laughs and shrugs his shoulders.
"I did but the eraser fell off last week." He says showing me the pencil. I roll my eyes and slump in my seat and glare over at the front of the classroom where the teacher sat doing her nails.
What kind of high school is this?
All the teachers don't even teach! If they do teach they just go on and on about the stupid laws of geometry or science. It honestly is a waste of my time of coming to school if I haven't learned anything since middle school.
The bell goes off and I do a happy dance mentally and grab my stuff. I make my way to my locker once again this time with Jason. As we pass Rachel and Harper, the girls shoot me a glare which I flip them the bird as my response. They're the schools copycats, something that annoys the hell out of me for many reasons.
If they think they can get away with speaking to me like that, well they have another thing coming. I unlock my locker, throwing my papers in there and grabbing my textbooks.
The hallway goes dead silent, the girls whispering or squealing and Jason let's out a groan before leaning against the locker beside me.
"Speaking of the devil, guess who's making his way right over?"
I look over my shoulder and down the hall to my left, a colorful curse word leaving my lips as my eyes follow Mr. Giordano as he walks down the hallway like Edward Cullen.
"Miss Montez, don't you think that shirt is rather small for you to be wearing at school?" Mr. Giordano says, stopping right in front of Jason and I.
Everyone that was in the hallway let out a cough of laughter as I turn around with my hands clenched in a fist as I give Mr. Giordano a tight smile.
"It's called a crop top for a reason Mr. Giordano." I say as sweetly as I could without calling him an asshole, which would result in me getting in a weeks worth of detention.
"I know what they are called Miss Montez, but I am afraid it goes against the districts dress code." He says shaking his head crossing his arms across his chest. "I assume you have gym clothes to change into?"
I roll my eyes crossing my arms over my chest. Who does this guy think he is telling me what to do? He isn't my dad.
"It's not like a guy is going to get a boner by looking at my belly button piercing." I snap as Mr Giordano raises his eyebrow at me as if he found this amusing.
"I'm just stating district rules Miss Montez, if you have a problem talk to them about it because frankly I don't need my time wasting on your pathetic problems."
Students reply in an oohing session which only rises my anger even further as he stares at me with a smirk on his face like he just won this argument.
"You have no f*****g right to speak to me like that,"
"I just did. Keep it up with your attitude and you'll be finding yourself in detention after school."
"I'm sorry but I have a date with Bob's Burgers."
People laugh at that but Mr. Giordano doesn't find it amusing for he shakes his head at me.
"I'll be seeing you right after school Miss Montez for detention." Mr. Giordano states shaking his head walking away. "And if I were you I wouldn't be late or else you'll find yourself another one."
My jaw drops open as I watch him continue his merry way down the hall, a wave and a smile towards the students he passes. Before he turns the corner where his classroom is, he gives one last look before winking and disappearing out of my sight.
