Amelia’s POV I’m scared to death when I see Jerome heading out of the room with Leo. If that door closes and they are both on the same side, I don’t think I will ever see Leo alive, ever again. But to my relief, as well as horror, Jerome manages to trick Leo into leaving, and he slams the door and locks it with Leo outside in the hallway. Then Jerome walks reverently towards the bed where I am still curled up in a ball. The tears have stopped, though. I’m too scared at this point to feel anything at all but the adrenaline pumping thru my veins. “There, there, my love.” Jerome says soothingly. He climbs into the bed beside me, and wraps his arms around me gently. “It’s just you and me, now. I’ll protect you. Just relax.” “You hurt me!” I whine, hoping he takes pity on me
