Sara’s POV He was looking down at his phone, his face a mix of concentration and frustration. “Derick?” I called out, my voice tentative. He looked up, his expression softening when he saw me. “Sara, hey. I didn’t expect to run into you here.” I managed a small smile. “Yeah, I’m visiting a friend and I will be staying here for a while. What about you? What are you doing here?” I quickly gave him an excuse. He shrugged, putting his phone away. “I was in the neighborhood for a work thing and decided to take a walk.
